I can't speak for everyone here, and wouldn't presume to if I could. For me personally it's a matter of rewards for my work. I spend all my free time finding, editing, compressing, uploading and posting things to share. RS lets me keep a free account if I generate lots of traffic/downloads. If I split the downloads by using mirrors somewhere else then I lose points at RS, where I can't afford to spend money as well as all my free time to use.

I appreciate all that download what I share and like to think they appreciate all the time and work I contribute to post here as well. But I need to protect the 75 gigs of files I have stored at RS, which I'd lose if I didn't have the points for free time.
