If u do it everyday it (defrag process) will consume less than 2 minutes ).
I mean only C partition.
The defraging frequency depends upon one's usage time & nature of work.
I work 10 hrs on the system per day.
Moreover my job involves installing/uninstalling softs. often.

It's just like arranging your table everyday, irrespective of whether you do little work
or more work on that table,so that u can pick the files/objects quickly without searching.

You do it everyday & see the difference.Then tell me.

How to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit edition of Windows [color=#FF0000][/color]

If you are not sure which version of Windows that you are running or whether it is a 32-bit version or 64-bit version,
open System Information (Msinfo32.exe), and review the value that is listed for
System Type.

To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, and then click Run, or click Start Search.

Type msinfo32.exe and then press ENTER.

In System Information, review the value for System Type.

For 32-bit editions of Windows, the System Type value is x86-based PC.

For 64-bit editions of Windows, the System Type value is x64-based PC.

Then I forgot to mention 2 more tips:

1) Diasble the autoplay feature in all drives, so that u will have a chance to scan before-
opening.

2)In system tray, keep only your security softs, so that u will save time during startup.

I am not able to post the step by step procedures (with screen shots) for implementing the above features.

Moreover these types of softwares are not reqd. at all.

What I do everyday:
Immediately after booting in the morning, I do the following:

1) Type %temp% in run box, click enter & delete all .temp files.

2) Delete browser cache.

3) Defragment.

After uninstalling programs I delete the remnents (leftovers) from the registry.
(DO this under guidance from exp. person)

My OS is win XP sp3 prof.

For security I am using the foll. programs:

1)Avira Premium Security Suite.

2)Malwarebytes anti-malware.

3)Ad Muncher.

4)USB Virus Scan.

5)Windows Defender.

All the above softs are genuine.

In my opinion the OS & Security softs should be original.

the downloaded file had a .dll file unrelated to the .exe file.

so i downloaded the .exe file from the software homepage & used the keygen from here.

after executing it (pop up ad stopper) started conflicting with malwarebytes anti-malware.
i uninstalled pop up ad stopper.

now can u tell what is the use of the .dll file?

this program will conflict with mbam (malwarebytes anti-malware).

does it have sp1 & sp2 ?

in my experience its not advisable to use registry cleaners.
because these softwares are notorious for removing valid keys if we are not careful.
