joewho96,
Friend and brother, chill. Animals on Earth have but one prime directive... to survive. Men who think, because they can, added a second... to prosper. Imagine if man had no purpose. What would change? Dinosaurs survived for eons - but, vanished in an instant and now pollute the atmosphere as exhaust fumes. Combine the mathematical precision we seek in science with random and seemingly chaotic events like a meteor striking our planet or the possibility of a nuclear winter. Still clinging to your sense of purpose? Ronald de Sousa wrote a book entitled "Why Think" comparing rational thought and instinct. It may be just as valid as the "Once Upon a Time" book (above). I will email a copy, if you wish. Not unlike the Qur'an, I remain unchanged and authentic in my belief that The Creator has no concern for the religions or writings of men. I refuse to connect the unselfish act of Creation with a selfish request to be worshiped. And yes, I am in awe of all that exists (sensed and not), have the utmost respect for nature, and will channel all my energy toward peace and harmony in all things. This is my religion. |
