Hmmmm.... too bad they didn't disable the AUTOMATIC UPDATE when they made it portable. It's trying to contact 74.52.75.26 (www.recover-keys.com), and even if you flip the setting off, it turns it on again when it restarts. That will let whoever is at www.recover-keys.com know your IP address, which also lets them know you have a cracked copy.

I tried to fiddle the obvious bits inside the file to stop it from updating and could not stop it. If I had a real copy, I could compare the registry changes and find out what to modify so that it did not attempt to call home and update itself.

I suggest you have a good application-level firewall running when you use this, or disconnect your internet before starting it. It begins the update long before the box pops up.

This kind of info is valuable to professionals and anyone interested in locks. The kids that break into houses are NOT going to spend the time picking a lock, they'll break a window or pry the door with a crowbar. That covers about 98% of break-ins... and less than 1/5 of 1% of break-ins are done by amateurs that read books like these. You can't learn to do it in 5 minutes with an e-book.
