Rapidshre - My Account Manager V2.0.0 (RS-MAM): Application designed to help all frustrated account holders of Rapidshare.com Premium or Free collector. The application is designed to facilitate the account management and information collection. Due to the non existence of such a thing to be able to manage the account with Rapidshare.com it self or other parties, the need of this tool is essential.

Thanks for the new version Dan, in this version some links are reported as Deleted but they are not.

And I got this while the program was running as well:

1- "some links are reported as Deleted but they are not": I need to look into that if you need me to fix this issue; you can email me the Database file which is located "C:\RS-MAM\DB\Rapid@>> your User Name<<.rdb" ( it does not include your password, and the UID file name can be changed, but I will be able to look into your files information to see that file name that you have a problem with (if you are emailing that file, please include the file names that you have a problem with).
If you don't want that, just deleted the database file in the location above and start fresh.

2- Error "RS00043MAM ": This error means, the application is unable to locate the update server, maybe you had a network problem or the server was unreachable. This is a new feature that I included to make sure you have the latest version.

3- "Remote Upload": Working on that.

Just FYI, I did manage to cut the time of retrieval, database update and comparison into less than one quarter of the time in V2.0.0, I will have this release soon.

I have downloaded the program and I have an account with Rapidshare but

I am working on creating a Help Page, but for now you could just start the application, click on setting, and update your user name and password and save it. User ”retrieve/refresh” button to get your account info and files details. You can right click on the list and will get a menu with text (I think it’s self explained). Hope this help for now.

As per design:
When the program starts, it disables the application until the application is connected to the update server and gets verified that it’s the latest version. For any of the two reasons (which are Not the latest update, or not able to connect to the server, maybe network problem) the application will lock down and will not continue, and will be disabled.

I provided the application and it’s for free, but I am just ensuring everyone have the latest version. If you are connected to the internet, normally you should have no problem? Sometimes it times out to the server but later it connect and you will be able to use the application, because the application keeps trying until it connect even after the error. (I will find a better way in the application to handle this specific error). I plan to add more than one update server so if one failed the second can be reach and so on.

Notice that ”alo1234” was able to get the application work even with the error, and that is because the error came to notify the user of problem reaching the update server but afterward it was working fine, because he is talking about the links and list, so he had no issues there.

What I am wondering if you continue getting this error, if maybe you are using a proxy or maybe your ISP is blocking the update server address. You have to try few time after you are on-line and try with more than one computer if possible. If not please wait for the next update when I do add more servers.

Hi Dan2010, I'm afraid I just can not get it to work. It finds that I'm using
a premium-Zone account, tells me how many points I have but nothing else seems to work.

Right click on the mouse gives me a menu but nothing seems to happen if I click on anything. No listing comes up. It just says rapidshare.

I never dealt with proxy, but I will try to find out more and try to fix it. I will let you know.

I am not sure why you are not getting the full details. but I will be glad to look into it if you can send me the full details of the issue and the html source code of the rapidshare.com web site when you visit it (I am planning to create a way in the application to be able to view the source code from within the application, so it can make it easier for me to troubleshoot) just remove your UID and Password from the source, send these info to my email and I will look into it.

I found out the way to deal with proxy, but since I don't have any proxy server, and I really don't like to setup one. Can you help me out here? I will create another simple application for browsing, to see if it will with the proxy you have and if it works I will implement that into the RS-MAM. Can you do that for me? I just tested the changing proxy on my IE, and guess what, The RS-MAM application use the same proxy setting as IE, so if you had that setting you should not have a problem.
Did you try the previous versions, as It did not have the update feature, did it work for you before?

can't seem to make it work. I installed .net framework 3.5 again. The application hangs immediately after starting and i can't even add login details. It becomes responsive for a few seconds for reloading the advertisement at the bottom and after that again it stops responding. I am running windows vista home premium.

one other thing i have visual studio 2005 installed. it should not have created a problem

The previous version v1.2.2 works perfectly.

I think your problem is that it's trying to get software update and it's unable to reach the server. When it stops responding, do you mean the buttons are disabled (Grey Color/ Shaded), and the "Checking for software update" message freeze? Or you mean, the SW update message clears and the button showing as normal enabled mode?

if case one it means unable to update, and I found out the problem is because the update server is not responding all times, and the solution is to add more than one server, and I am in the process of that.

if case two, I need to know more symptoms to be able to analyze the issue and fix.

VS 2005 uses Net 2.0. and it's not the problem (I believe)

The difference of the older version and the new (for the starting part only) is added the advertisement and the update part. (That is beside the other features and bug fixes for the rest of the application)

The Ads works on a deferent thread and they can't interfere with the application, but they can use part of your CPU and memory, I did work on a little bit more to reduce the network usage, CPU and memory. I am releasing the new version soon with hopefully better solutions.

Right click seem to be disable at the moment. The software look good so far but it killing your CPU. Hope this is fixes in the future.

Right click is fixed in the next release (next few hours or a day will be posted). CPU Issue, I am aware of the issue, and I am working in improving that as much as I can, but keep in mind that it's using the maximum CPU state only for few seconds during the refresh of the information only (I have almost 400 files and it takes around 20 seconds to finish the refresh), but the more the database gets larger and more files, the more time it takes. The reason is that it used to take much longer time in the older version, and I tried to get the application to be more responsive, that is why I had to use three threads (slots) of the CPU.

I will get that fix in the future, I promise.

That great to hear that you are working hard on it. BTW I haven't try it out yet but still want to know if there is a feature that let you select multi-files and create or move it into a link list(folder). I also have one suggestion, I don't know if many on here have tried out rapid refresh that refresh your files so that your files doesn't get deleted if inactive for 90 days. If this is added to the features then we all don't need to worry about reuploading.

Multi Files Selection is there. move it into LinkList not there yet, but thanks for the idea, I will test it and try to add the feature.

Rapid Refresh? Where did you see that,\? I can't find it any where on RS Page!

I see what you mean. It's not a feature on Rapidsahre, but you would like to have it. as far as my understanding of that application you(Rapid Refresh) it works only for Premium account, is that right?

I think I could manage to add that feature in the future.
