"If I add a few features that you'll find highly useful while maintaining the simplicity, would that be better?" That was Attach Plus asking, and it has convincing proof it can do better.

Attach Plus plugs right into the file attachment selection dialog of many email programs and adds powerful editing capabilities to it. You can change the file name just for the attachment and compress files for sending (multiple documents can be packed into one ZIP file). You can even use the Send To menu with web-based email services (Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail).

While this is convenient, the real magic of Attach Plus lies in its PDF capabilities. You can send files of many types as PDF, merge multiple documents into one PDF attachment and restrict access to your heart's content. Attach Plus lets you manage printing, editing and copying rights, and it can securely encrypt and password-protect PDF files. If Attach Plus is incapable of converting a file format to PDF directly, a special printer driver usually does the trick.

It's just a pity that Attach Plus does integrate only with a handful of email programs (albeit some of the most popular such as Outlook, Eudora and Outlook Express). Support for Mozilla Thunderbird, for example, would be nice. You can always use Attach Plus to create an attachment for Outlook Express and then send it using any email client, of course.
