Four of his books have appeared in the Smithsonian Institute's Folkways Exhibition in Washington, DC. In addition Jody has written for most of the major guitar magazines, including Guitar Player, Just Jazz Guitar and Finger Style Guitar.
As an educator, Jody has held the positions of Professor of Jazz and Studio Guitar at the University of Redlands, in Redlands, CA, the University of La Verne, in La Verne, CA, and the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts (ISOMATA), in Idyllwild, CA. In addition, he has also served as Associate Director of the National Guitar Workshop as well as Director of the Workshop's Jazz Summit in the early years of that program. Jody continues to conduct seminars and clinics all over the country.

Vol 1:Complete Jazz Guitar Method: Beginning Jazz Guitar| PDF + Audio
Anyone with a knowledge of basic chords and guitar scale fingerings can dig right in and start learning to play jazz right away. Spanning from the major scale and basic triad theory all the way up [code]to extended chords and the modes, this book features a full-length etude or song to go with every new concept introduced. Beginning Jazz Guitar breaks the age-old tradition of dry, intimidating and confusing jazz books, and provides an actual step-by-step and enjoyable method for learning to play in this style.
Clearly organized into easily mastered segments, each chapter is divided into separate lessons on harmony or improvisation. All music is shown in standard notation and TAB, and the CD demonstrates the examples in the book.

Erase The Slate - Dokken

There couldn't be a more fitting title for the latest Dokken album, one that marks a welcome return to the sound they're known for, after the alternative sounds of their last album , and features the debut of new guitarist Reb Beach (ex-Winger, Alice Cooper). Being a huge fan of George Lynch's guitar expertise, but as soon as the opening title cut came blasting through the speakers there was no doubt this was a keeper, a high energy collecton full of strong melodies and harmonies, excellent guitar work (Reb's apparently been restrained in the past, because he really lets loose here -- check out his work on 'Drown'), Don's strongest vocals in years and most importantly, the sound of a relaxed band enjoying what they're doing, an element that's been missing for a long time, due to the everpresent internal tensions. Erase the Slate marks the return of the Dokken you know and love.
Here's the track review:
1. Erase The Slate - Classic Dokken. This Killer tune opens the album with good Rokken Fashion. Reminiscent of Tooth And Nails, this one says Reb Beach all over it. Check out the KILLER solo... 'nuff said.
2. Change The World - A hook-filled tune that features the classic Don Dokken growls as well as two awesome shred solos.
3. Maddest Hatter - The 1st single is not only very catchy, it's one of the best Dokken songs ever. You'll be humming the chorus the minute after you've heard it. It's classic Dokken, yer very innovative. It's like In My Dreams mixed with Too High To Fly. Check out (Wild) Mick Brown's incredible drum fills, and once again Reb Beach shines.

This is the strongest album from the band or any other hard rock band from the era of big hair and decadence in years. “Saints Of Los Angeles” is set to be released in the United States on June 24th, 2008.

Crue's bassist, Nikki Sixx, confirmed the news to the press saying, "We pushed back the release one week so that we could get it onto the album -- it now has 13 tracks." He also added, "It's the ultimate song to end the record with and begin the new chapter of our career."

About the new album, it will be the legendary rockers first full length record after 10 years of absence. Meanwhile, the new single which has the same title of the album, was aired through radio stations on April 15. It then got a further promotion after being released through Rock Band music video game, which is available in both XBox and Playstation.

Recorded live at New York City's Beacon Theater, LIFE IS WORTH LOSING finds the legendary comedian with his dander at full mast, unleashing his righteous rage at such topics as "Dumb Americans," "Autoerotic Asphyxia," "Extreme Human Behavior," and more. As ever, Carlin's blend of hilarious comedy and biting commentary forces listeners to confront the dark truths of modern culture while trying to catch their breath from non-stop laughter.

Track Listing:
1. And he is not just "bursting with energy" like some lesser comedians who substitute silly meaningless clowning on stage for professional comedy delivery: Carlin's energy is masterfully and skillfully channelled towards achieving his goal of lighting the fire of the audience.
It is hard to believe the record is now 12 years old. It sounds fresh and the best tracks (Rape Can Be Funny; Feminist BJ; and the pinnacle of linguistic joy, Offensive Language) are absolute gems in the outstandingly rich collection of George Carlin.

Track Listing:
1. In fact, the wetter the better. "Umbrella," the first single off Rihanna's ragingly good third album, may be her strongest ditty yet, and that's saying something considering her run of past summer chartbusters. More stylish than "S.O.S." (from A Girl Like Me) and more interesting than "Pon de Replay" (from Music of the Sun), "Umbrella" barrels forward with big, brawny drums and a hot but haunted-sounding vocal. From there, the upbeat numbers chug forth like chilled pina colada mix into a blender: "Breakin' Dishes" trades skillfully on a recent vogue for man-directed venom, and "Shut Up and Drive" borrows "S.O.S."-style from the '80s New Order song "Blue Monday." Both are irresistible. So, too, are a couple of late tracks. "Rehab" and "Lemme Get That," both produced by Timbaland, prove that being an island girl is no barrier to holding one's own amid a sizzling stew of urban beats. In fact, it's a boon--one that'll register with pop music fans instantly.

Formed in London and having their first success in the UK, they subsequently became popular in the US during the "British Invasion" in the early 1960s.

The band formed in 1962 when original leader Brian Jones and pianist Ian Stewart were joined by singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, whose songwriting partnership later contributed to their taking the leadership role in the group. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. Ian Stewart was removed from the official lineup in 1963 but continued to work with the band as road manager and keyboardist until his death in 1985.
