For crying out loud, people. Have you not heard of Firefox by now? Install the AdBlock Plus add-on and you won't have to worry about all the ads...possible malware attempts, redirects, etc. It's really not that difficult! I have yet to even see an ad on this site - thanks to AdBlock.

As for viruses in shared files - I wholeheartedly agree that something needs to be done by Michael and/or the site Admin./Owner. The files shared here seem to be infected more often than files shared on other sites. However, if you're *that* tired of it, go somewhere else! You don't *have* to use this site. I'm sure Michael's trying to do the best he can (even though I know you can do better). :)

Lastly, how many of you are still using AVG as your choice for antivirus protection software? I'm willing to bet many of you are - which is the primary problem. It's widely known that AVG leads the way - by far - in false positive virus detections!

So - if you're one of the (too) many, and unfortunate, AVG users - think twice before complaining about virus detections. Either use a different antivirus product altogether or supplement it with another one as well - even if it's a free online scanner through ESET Nod32 or Kapersky, etc.
