RHOMA IRAMA - The Legend of Dangdut

Rhoma Irama is an Famous Indonesian dangdut singer. During the height of his stardom in the 1970s, he became the self-proclaimed Raja Dangdut (King of Dangdut) with the group Soneta.

Rhoma Irama was receive the PhD award from the American University of Hawaii in February 2005. He also one of the artists on the only CD containing dangdut music in the United States, which was released on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings as part of its Indonesian music series.

With this you will hear many famous hits from Rhoma Irama: "Begadang", "Judi", "Piano" and more.

Enjoy the music...Come on, forget the lyrics..Celeberate your New Year's Party with this...And dance!

In the late 1960s a new popular music called dangdut emerged from the slums and suburbs of Jakarta in Indonesia. The music was performed on an electrified and modernized version of the older acoustic orkes melayu orchestra and combined influences from Indian and Malaysian film music, Islamic popular music and American popular song, primarily rock. The name dangdut is an onomatopoeic reference to the tabla-like pair of drums used in the ensemble that supply the genre with its defining rhythm: DANG dut, in which a heavy, low-sounding pitch off the beat ("dang") is followed by a light, higher pitch note on the downbeat ("dut"). The form was originally characterized by love duets between young men and women.

STEVE VAI - Book and Articles

Steven "Steve" Siro Vai (born June 6, 1960 in Carle Place, New York) is an American instrumental rock guitarist, songwriter, vocalist, producer, and actor. After starting his professional career as a music transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, Vai would also record and tour in Zappa's backing band starting in 1980. The guitarist began a solo career starting in 1984 and has released 13 solo albums as of 2008. Apart from his work with Frank Zappa, Vai has also recorded and toured with numerous musical artists including Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake.

Vai has been a regular touring member of the G3 Concert Tour which began in 1996. In 1999 Vai started his own record label Favored Nations with the intent to showcase, as Vai describes: "...artists that have attained the highest performance level on their chosen instruments."

With this you can find 2 articles and a book: 10 Hour Workout, 30 Hour Path To Virtuoso Enlightenmen, and Guitar Books...From Steve Vai

Vai also helped design his signature Ibanez JEM series of guitars. They feature a hand grip (fondly referred to as a "monkey grip") cut into the top of the body of the guitar, a humbucker-single coil-humbucker DiMarzio pickup configuration with several different types of pickup including Evolution, Breed and EVO 2. He also uses an Ibanez Edge double-locking tremolo system (the current production JEMs have the newer Edge Pro), as well as an elaborate and extensive "Tree of Life" inlay down the neck. Vai also equips many of his guitars with an Ibanez Backstop, a tremolo stabilizer that has been discontinued. Lately Vai has also equipped some of his guitars with True Temperament fretboards in order for his chords to sound completly in tune.[6] Vai also has a 7-string model designed by him named Ibanez Universe. The Universe later influenced the 7-string guitars used by Korn and other bands to create nu metal sounds in the late 1990s. He also has a signature Ibanez acoustic, the Euphoria. Before he used Ibanez, he briefly endorsed Jackson guitars, but this relationship would only last for two years.

#18: Music : Mr. BIG - Lean Into It (TAB GUITARS+MP3)

Mr. BIG - Lean Into It (TAB GUITARS+MP3)

By the late 80s, "shred" was somewhat popular -- the new wave of progressive "musician's bands" who could play mind-blowing complicated riffs on their instruments at lightning speeds. Mr. Big combined two popular musical trends of the rock scene: a particular brand of hard rock, often referred to as cock-rock, focused on melodies and listener-friendly choruses, and impressive technical proficiency, then called shredding.

Mr. Big, one of the few bands to master both technical playing and "song" playing, and it's a shame that most people aren't familiar with them beyond one song.

"Lean Into It" certainly has its share of dazzling playing in the solos and certain intros, but over all it's an album that non-musicians are going to like too. This was the real big turning point in their writing direction. The album includes solid rock such as Daddy Brother.., groovy sound such as Road To Ruin, great soulful melodic rock track Green-Tinted Sixties Mind. It could give you nice starting point to get to know the BIG rockers.

Mr. Big was an American hard rock super group. Formed in 1988, Mr. Big was particularly popular in Japan. Mr. Big are probably best known for their 1991 rock hit, "Lean Into It" released in 1991 is their greatest success so far in the U.S. To Be With You became #1 and Just Take My Heart became huge hit in the U.S.

Paul Brandon Gilbert (Paul Gilbert)

Paul Gilbert (born November 6, 1966 in Illinois, United States of America ) is an American guitarist, he began playing music at age five, and by age but soon gave up, becoming frustrated with just learning simple nursery rhymes. Around age 11, he took up the guitar again, but with a skewed memory of the technique; he played only with upstrokes, and only used his middle finger to Paul Gilbert. Frustrated after trying to play a fast metal song with a galloping rhythm using this technique, he took lessons, and his teacher explained the error of his ways. His technique corrected, Gilbert continued practicing, and by the age of 15 he was not only touring local clubs with his band Tau Zero but was even spotlighted in Guitar Player alongside fellow up-and-comer Yngwie Malmsteen. Now, he is recognized as one of the best metal guitar players, a status due to his undeniably amazing technique, clarity, creativity and versatility.15 was not only touring local clubs with his band Tau Zero but was even spotlighted in Guitar Player magazine alongside fellow up-and-comer Yngwie Malmsteen.

In 1984 Gilbert relocated to Los Angeles to attend the Guitar Institute of Technology, becoming an instructor there the following year; concurrently he formed the band Electric Fence, which by 1986 evolved into Racer X. Their debut album Street Lethal appeared later that year, but in the wake of the follow-up, 1987's Second Heat, Gilbert exited to join Mr. Big, which in 1992 topped the pop charts with the ballad "To Be with You." Mr. Big disbanded in 1996, and a year later Gilbert made his solo debut with King of Clubs; Flying Dog followed in 1998, trailed by Beehive Live in 1999 and Alligator Farm in fall 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

#20: Music : Charles Edward Anderson Berry (CHUCK BERRY)

Charles Edward Anderson Berry (CHUCK BERRY)

He is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, born October 18, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He is an influential figure and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's website, "While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll, Chuck Berry comes the closest of any single figure to being the one who put all the essential pieces together."

He is the first and one of its greatest early songwriters and guitarists, the main shaper of its instrumental voice and one of its greatest performers.

Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986. He received Kennedy Center Honors in 2000 in a "class" with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Plácido Domingo, Angela Lansbury, and Clint Eastwood. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Chuck Berry #5 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He was also ranked 6th on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Berry's incredible success is due to his ability to articulate the concerns and attitudes of his audience in his music.

Of all the early breakthrough rock & roll artists, none is more important to the development of the music than Chuck Berry. For this reason, tunes like "Johnny B. Goode," "Maybellene" and "Memphis" have become anthems to an integrated American youth and popular culture. Berry is a musical icon who established rock and roll as a musical form and brought the worlds of black and white together in song.

#21: Music : Aaron Watson - San Angelo

Aaron Watson - San Angelo

mp3 Format | 192 kbps | 50 MB

Aaron Watson looks too young and cheerful to know much about the honky tonk life, but one spin of San Angelo proves appearances can be deceiving. Watson manages to find a comfortable middle ground between the radio-friendly polish of new country and the tougher sounds that continue to find favor in his home state of Texas, and while the party anthem "Heyday Tonight" may open the album, it's harder-edged tunes about love and heartbreak like "Blame It on Me," "Haunted House," and the title cut that put the meat on this disc's bones. Watson wrote the bulk of the album's 13 songs, with the other selections culled from the songbooks of Willie Nelson, Buddy Holly, Jim Lauderdale, and Bruce Robison, and the fact that Watson's songs don't sound woefully inadequate in comparison says a lot about his talent -- maybe "All American Country Girl" and "Good Thing Going" are a bit lightweight, but "Except for Jessie" is a moving tribute to Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, and "Haunted House" is a fine and evocative portrait of a love gone sour. Ray Benson's production is clean but straightforward, and the pickers deliver the goods with class to spare. San Angelo isn't always up to the level of Aaron Watson's influences, but it's modern country music with the heart and soul of classic Lone Star sounds, and it's the work of a young man with plenty of potential. --Mark Deming, All Music Guide

Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong

mp3 Format | 256 kbps | 83.5 MB

Sarah McLachlan 3-time Grammy and 8-time Juno Award-winning multi-platinum McLachlan, who has sold over 30 million records around the world, usher in the spirit of the season with the release of her first holiday album, Winstersong recorded in her home studio in Vancouver, Sarah McLachlan presents these classic songs on Winstersong with a unique twist, making them her own and translating them into her repertoire. These recordings are not simply traditional holiday fare. Instead, Winstersong could be considered the soundtrack to a blustery winter day. The album opens with her version of John Lennon's timeless declaration of peace from 1971, "Happy Xmas (War is Over)." John and Yoko and the Plastic Ono Band originally recorded the song with the Harlem Community Choir, and Sarah is also joined by a choral group -- a children's choir of students from the music school she personally funds and oversees in her hometown of Vancouver. Another highlight of the new album is Sarah's version of "River" from Joni Mitchell's 1971 Blue album ("It's coming on Christmas, they're cutting down trees..."). The title track Wintersong was written by Sarah specifically for this album. On this recording, she also pays homage to Gordon Lightfoot with his 1975 "Song For A Winter's Night." From the American standard songbook, Sarah has chosen "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." The program is rounded out with the traditional "What Child Is This (Greensleeves)," "O Little Town of Bethlehem," "Silent Night," the classically flavored "In A Bleak Mid Winter," and a medley of "The First Noel/ Mary Mary." In addition, Wintersong features guest appearances from Diana Krall on piano on "Christmas Time Is Here" from the 1965 Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon and fellow Canadian Jim Creegan of Barenaked Ladies guests on double bass throughout the album.

George Carlin - It's Bad For Ya (NEW Comedy Album)

mp3 Format | 192-320 kbps | 76.5 MB

The final offering from the late master of American comedy. Produced a month before his death, this was to be Carlin's final special, and it is as good as any he's done yet.

George didn't go quietly....his previous effort LIFE IS WORTH LOSING is a particular favorite of mine as he really nailed the fat overfed and lazy public that has turned this beautiful jewel of a country into a sea to shining sea SHOPPING MALL! In this last effort he again takes on sacred cows like CHILD WORSHIP and our own complacency as he says Americans are never going to get in gear as long as we have cell phones that make us pancakes and rub our balls!! This isn't the hippy dippy weatherman, baseball/football or a place for my stuff...but a wake up call from a man who knew his time was coming to an end and was simply telling us its a rigged game, the table is tilted and it's all bad for ya! Oh and his references to Governor Bush (the only office he was truly elected to) are spot on. He may hurt some feelings busting the whole SELF ESTEEM movement the way he does and it seems those that think his best years were the 70's-80's just don't get it..he's not complaining he's calling it the way it is or to put it another way SHINING A LIGHT on the situations, but that is hitting too close to the bone for MOST of us! George wasn't a bitter/angry/ old man...he cared and tried to use his humor and audience to remind us where we were going ....and he's right...its not good.

Stephen King Novels - 107 PDFs in AIO

107 Stephen King Novels | PDF Format | 56 MB

Stephen King is an American novelist and short-story writer, whose enormously popular books revived the interest in horror fiction from the 1970s. King's place in the modern horror fiction can be compared to that of J.R.R. Tolkien's who created the modern genre of fantasy. Like Anthony Trollope, Charles Dickens or Balzac in his La Comédie humaine, King has expressed the fundamental concerns of his era, and used the horror genre as his own branch of artistic expression. King has underlined, that even in the world of cynicism, despair, and cruelties, it remains possible for individuals to find love and discover unexpected resources in themselves. His characters often conquer their own problems and malevolent powers that would suppress or destroy them.

A great singles band that often got a little unraveled on its album-only epics, the Doors are predictably remembered as Deeper Artists than some of their (especially Jim Morrison's) pretensions merit. But those 45s really were great. They dominate this disc, with "Light My Fire" (the album version) and "Hello I Love You" banging by to complement the moodier "Riders on the Storm" (also at LP length) and a live "Roadhouse Blues" rescued from An American Prayer. Predictably, the record closes with a few other non-AM tracks, including "The End." But most of the real meat is in the stuff that made it to the jukeboxes.

Willie Nelson - One Hell Of A Ride - 4 CD Box Set

mp3 Format | 128 kbps | 283.2 MB

This box contains a wealth of American music, plus a couple of jewels--Django Reinhardt's "Nuages" and Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come"--from beyond these shores. Here are 100 songs commemorating Willie Nelson's incredible journey by going full circle. "When I've Sang My Last Hillbilly Song," leading off Disc One, was recorded in 1954 or '55; it is reprised on Disc Four's final track, updated in 2007. Between those years Nelson, a Depression era kid who grew up dirt poor in Abbott, Texas, became one of the world's most recognizable figures, in the music/entertainment business or otherwise. One Hell Of A Ride is, quite simply, the most all-encompassing Nelson retrospective ever assembled.
Finally, there is the man himself, who on April 30, 2008 will turn 75. The songs herein, many of them touchstones, some lesser known gems, reflect the musical sense and sensibility of an artist for all ages, and for the ages.
