The Ultimate Sin is an album by Ozzy Osbourne. It was released on February 22, 1986, and it was remastered and re-issued on August 22, 1995. This album was certified double platinum on October 26, 1994. This album features guitarist Jake E. Lee (formerly of Mickey Ratt, Rough Cutt and Dio). This is the only Ozzy album to feature bassist Phil Soussan - who wrote the album's U.S. hit single "Shot in the Dark" - and the first to feature drummer Randy Castillo, who has since died due to cancer. Lyrics were largely written by long-time Ozzy bass player Bob Daisley, who was also present during the initial writing sessions. Daisley left after having a disagreement with Ozzy, which led to the hiring of Soussan. He was also not credited as a co-writer on the initial 1986 pressing of the album. This was corrected for each pressing after that.

The Ultimate Sin was Ozzy's highest charting studio album. The RIAA awarded the album Platinum status on May 14 1986, soon after its release; it was awarded Double Platinum status on October 26, 1994.

In April 2002, the album was deleted from the Ozzy catalog and is no longer being reproduced, due to legal issues between Ozzy and Soussan over the song "Shot in the Dark." The most recent issue was the 1995 remastered CD, which, unlike other more recent Osbourne reissues, does not include any bonus tracks. It is, however, still for sale in the iTunes Store.

2007 digitally remastered reissue of this ambitious 1998 outing by Heavy Metal guitar virtuoso Yngwie J. Malmsteen presents the skilled six-string player performing classical compositions. The album is a collaboration by the esteemed Swedish heavy metal guitarist with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in which they perform classical works under the supervision and arrangement of ex-Rainbow keyboardist David Rosenthal. 12 tracks total. The scope of this project is incredible. Play classical guitar on an electric guitar with a quality symphony backing you. The production is eloquent in that the guitar and the symphony compliment one another, and Yngwie's playing is magnificent. You don't hear guys like Vai or Satriani or Johnson or Blackmore saying anything but glowing things about Malmsteen. This schtick about him only being a technician is not only wrong, it is short sighted. Playing classical music is about bringing the music alive... not about innovating NEW music or phraseology. That's why it's called "classical." No one else in the world could have pulled this off and Yngwie deserves all the credit that can be mustered. And to compare this effort to Metallica? With all due respect to Metallica... get serious.

The "Bark at the Moon" single gave Ozzy his first UK hit single and the band appeared on Top Of The Pops (miming 'live' in the studio). "So Tired" was also a successful single in the UK. During the filming of the latter Osbourne suffered injuries to his throat by glass from the exploding mirror.

Master of Puppets is an extremely important metal album, and while it isn't always evident amidst all of Dream Theater's sprawling progressive rock songs, it was definitely a major influence to the band when they were starting out.

Dream Theater's version of Master of Puppets is a must-have for die hard Dream Theater fans, and should prove interesting to most Metallica fans as well. It's a live performance, but the sound quality is quite good. It's probably not up to the standard of Dream Theater's traditional live releases, but it's definitely a cut above the typical bootleg recording.

Dream Theater, arguably the world's premiere progressive metal band, started a tradition a few years ago of covering classic albums during certain tour stops. The band would play a set of their own material, take a break, and then cover one of their favorite albums in its entirety.

Looking back at Megadeth's history book, clear is their musicianship, talent and above all their constant maturity and improvements.The band hit the top when they recorded Countdown to Extinction and they stormed over the top with Youthanasia. The album features a more mature sound / riffing / solos from the band. The songs are shorter than those in Rust in peace but each song in Youthanasia is as heavy as those in Rust. The solos are more melodic here and the techniques used in riffing and solos is more complex and melodic.

Youthanasia is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Megadeth, released on November 1, 1994. A remixed and remastered version, featuring several bonus tracks, was released in 2004. The title is a pun on euthanasia, implying that society is euthanizing its youth, which would be consistent with bandleader and principal songwriter Dave Mustaine's views.

This is Yngwie's best album and it features his best vocalist ever Joe Lynn Turner. Yngwie combines Neo Classical Metal, Hair Metal and Power Metal to make his best album ever!

The collaboration of Joe Lynn Turner and Yngwie Malmsteen make this album a classic in my book. The songs are perfectly crafted, which says a lot for an artist who is known as a guitar virtuoso, but a mediocre songwriter. In fact, this is the only album by Yngwie Malmsteen where the songs are equal in appeal to his guitar mastery.

Every song on Odyssey is a masterpiece. Even the slow, thoughtful songs still sound "heavy" enough, but the music is emotionally moving at the same time. And Joe Lynn Turner is at his best on this album, hook-laden melodic rock tunes that need to be heard

Widely acclaimed as his best album, Passion and Warfare finds Steve Vai coming into his own as a composer, as well as bypassing vocals almost entirely. His style isn't quite as derivative of influences Frank Zappa and Joe Satriani as it was six years earlier on Flex-able; while some of Vai's sense of humor is still evident on tracks like the cock rock strut of "The Audience Is Listening," it is mostly replaced by a spiritual reflectiveness on ballads like "For the Love of God" and "Blue Powder" and dignified, committed rockers like "I Would Love To" and "Liberty." Vai is a more distinguished composer than most of his guitar-shredder contemporaries, and rather than simply showing off his technique, he isn't afraid to experiment or take chances in his playing. Thus, Passion and Warfare is arguably the richest and best hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the '80s.
