Far Beyond Driven is the seventh album by heavy metal band Pantera. The album was released on March 15, 1994 through East West Records. It is considered one of the most extreme albums ever to debut at #1 in the US.

Anselmo's lyrics on the album were far more personal than on the previous albums. Songs such as 'Becoming' and '25 Years' appear to be about Philip Anselmo's early life. This was the first Pantera album with Darrell being called "Dimebag Darrell" and not "Diamond Darrell," although in Vulgar Video he is referred to as "Dimebag".

Towering oliphants loom over the battlefield, raging toward the Rohirrim. Orcs swarm around, brandishing rusty blades and thirsting for blood. Yes indeed, developer Pandemic Studios seems to be taking great pains to create a hack-and-slash game that stays true to its source material. Expect to see these sights and many others in The Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Two famed settings, Pelennor Fields and Minas Tirith, are home to some levels that we recently explored, and we're here to report on the experience.

First, we should mention that in each of the campaign missions that we played, we could choose from four total character classes, both at the outset and within the missions: scout, warrior, archer, and mage. The warrior's broadsword may be the most obviously authoritative, but the other three classes have obvious advantages. Scouts wield daggers and are swift to attack, so if you like quick, stylish moves, you'll gravitate to this class. Archers, of course, are equipped with a bow and arrows, and you may find their triple-shot and poison-arrow skills particularly handy. Or if you're a fan of Gandalf, perhaps you'd rather test out the mage class, which uses lightning bolts as its main attack.

Widely acclaimed as his best album, Passion and Warfare finds Steve Vai coming into his own as a composer, as well as bypassing vocals almost entirely. His style isn't quite as derivative of influences Frank Zappa and Joe Satriani as it was six years earlier on Flex-able; while some of Vai's sense of humor is still evident on tracks like the cock rock strut of "The Audience Is Listening," it is mostly replaced by a spiritual reflectiveness on ballads like "For the Love of God" and "Blue Powder" and dignified, committed rockers like "I Would Love To" and "Liberty." Vai is a more distinguished composer than most of his guitar-shredder contemporaries, and rather than simply showing off his technique, he isn't afraid to experiment or take chances in his playing. Thus, Passion and Warfare is arguably the richest and best hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the '80s.

A good Christmas compilation should contain the following things--a selection of old classics to warm your cockles by the fireside, some of the classic pop titles that people always seem to find themselves singing along to in the pub on Christmas Eve, some carols and a handful of oddities to keep everyone on their toes. The Best Christmas Album in the World Ever manages to fulfil all these criteria--on the classic front there is Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" and Dean Martin's "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow", on the classic pop front there's Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" and Wizzard's "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday", traditional carols "Silent Night" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" head the field and as far as oddities go, look no further than the double whammy of "Lonely Pup (In A Christmas Shop)", courtesy of Adam Faith, and "Angels" by Robbie Williams (a pretty tenuous inclusion, especially considering the angel in the title is his mum). All in all, small gripes aside, The Best Christmas Album In The World Ever manages to live up to its name.
