Smallville is an American television series developed by writers/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on the DC Comics character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The television series was initially broadcast by The WB, first premiering on October 16, 2001.[1] After its fifth season, The WB and UPN merged to form The CW, which is the current broadcaster for the show in the United States.[2] Smallville was renewed for its ninth season on February 24, 2009.[3] The series follows the adventures of Clark Kent (Tom Welling), who resides in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. The first four seasons focused on Clark and his friends' high school years. Since season five, the show has ventured into more adult settings, eventually focusing on his career at the Daily Planet, as well as introducing other DC comic book superheroes and villains.

The Annie Lennox Collection is the first greatest hits compilation by Scottish singer-songwriter Annie Lennox. It will be released on 16 March 2009 and will contain two newly recorded songs, "Shining Light", originally a single by Ash, and a cover of Keane's rare B-side "Closer Now", retitled "Pattern of My Life". The artwork was shot by rock singer Bryan Adams.

One glance at the cover art of 2008's PERFECT SYMMETRY, and it's clear that Keane has made a notable shift in its aesthetic, with geometric shapes replacing the more ornate, vintage look of past albums. SYMMETRY's music, not surprisingly, follows ... Full Descriptionsuit, with the British alt-rock band veering off in a striking synth-pop-influenced direction. While frontman Tom Chaplin's plaintive vocals provide the crucial thread of familiarity, the album's arrangements are generally beat-driven and keyboard-heavy, often edging on techno territory (particularly the robotic rhythms of "You Haven't Told Me Anything"). Though the record isn't a complete departure (see the aching, piano-led "Love Is the End"), it's certain to be divisive among diehard fans, with plenty of debate spurred on by "Spiralling" and other telltale signs of Keane's glossy, synth-loving makeover.
