#5: E-Books : Dow 40000 by David Elias

Dow 40000 by David Elias

In this book, Elias relates finance to the changing demographics of America and the rest of the world. His predictions about the future global economy are based on solid research and historical comparison. He focuses on Blue chip investing and gives Solid low-mid level risk advice.

He actually gives recommendations on specific companies. His diversified portfolios allow for investors to invest using his advice with some freedom. This is the best book on the market and investing I have ever read. A must read for newcomers and veterans.

This book discusses some of the major trends occurring in the world likely to affect stock values and gives some good investing advice.

Call David Elias an optimist. He expects the Dow Jones Industrial Average to hit 40,000 by the year 2016, and he stands by his prediction, even in the wake of the stock market down turn. His target doesn't sound so outlandish if you consider that, in order to hit 40,000, the Dow must rise by only 9% annually in the next 16 years. (Investors already have accustomed themselves to much grander annual returns.) However, Elias, an investment adviser, might strike some readers as a bit too cheery. He says interest rates and inflation will remain low for a decade, and he predicts that the developing world will goose profits by buying ever-increasing quantities of products from U.S. companies. Elias also argues that the much-feared backlash from Baby Boomers pulling out of the market after they retire will prove a myth. While Elias' outlook is relentlessly buoyant, we [...] recommend his information to investors and his book's ripe conversational fodder to futurists and analysts.

#6: E-Books : The New Reality of Wall Street by Donald Coxe

The New Reality of Wall Street by Donald Coxe

While the author from NV makes a point about the Harris Insight yearly underperformance, Mr. Coxe's performance has beaten the SP over the last three years by 680 basis points annualized.

This is a superior book, because of the style of thinking. Typical investors, like the individual from NV, or the herd, think in a conformed fashion and Mr. Coxe takes us out of the conformity and allows us independent thought.

He also does a great job explaining what external influences on the market are, the important roles they play( things like eurodollars, central banks, world economies, etc.), and what happens when markets go down or sideways for an extended period of time.

This book is explains the Big Picture of global markets and how an individual investor can use a broader understanding of markets to manage a personal investment portfolio. Donald Coxe does a great job of explaining how we got to where we are today. But the best thing is that he offers intelligent, witty insight into what investors should do next. At a time when most investing guides are offering bubblegum advice in a pop psychology wrapper, ths book is a breath of fresh air.

#8: E-Books : 30 Days to Market Mastery by Jacob Bernstein

30 Days to Market Mastery by Jacob Bernstein

The best thing to be gleaned here is the methodology itself. The methodology is first a setup, then a trigger, then follow through. A setup is a seasonal correlation or momentum divergence, as examples. Then a trigger gets you in the trade, like a stochastics crossover. Follow through is simply money management.

This book provides excellent clarity in finding potential trades, determining an appropriate entry and subsequently managing the trade. Momentum divergence is the main indicator and the methodology is clearly detailed in terms of the setup, the trigger and the follow through. Questions are included at the end of the chapters. It is not difficult to use the methodology on any charting software. The methods can be extended to utilize other similar indicators. Reading this book is a low risk proposition with major potential rewards.

This is definitely one book that any new trader should read.

An excellent book for new traders, 30 Days to Market Mastery outlines an easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement approach to learning how to trade. This book covers the fundamentals of how to structure trades in a disciplined fashion, so as to avoid vague decisions and acting on unclear trading signals. It also provides a number of strategies for entering and exiting the market in a way that maximizes the chances of making money and minimizes the potential for losing money. With this book as their guide, readers will learn the proper organizational, analytical, and behavioral skills that are vital to consistent success in trading. In 30 Days to Market Mastery each trading day contains a single lesson, and each lesson contains a quiz to help the reader master the material.

#9: E-Books : Day Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien

Day Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien

The currency/foreign exchange (FX) market is by far the largest financial market in the world, with trading volumes surpassing $1.9 trillion a day. Although primarily dominated by a worldwide network of interbank traders, a new era of Internet-based communication technologies has recently allowed individual investors to gain direct access to this popular—and profitable—market.

Written by Kathy Lien—chief strategist for the number one online currency broker in the world—Day Trading the Currency Market reveals a variety of technical and fundamental profit-making strategies for trading the currency/FX market, and provides a more detailed look at how this market actually works.

Filled with in-depth insight and expert advice, Day Trading the Currency Market can show you how to enter this highly competitive arena with confidence and exit with profits.

You will find some interesting and informative content in this book that can be useful in your educational path in Forex. But it is important to keep in mind that the book is written not by a trading entrepreneur but by a representative of one of the largest Forex brokers. To become a successful trader it is essential to recognize the vast difference in agenda between winning traders and brokers. The entire industry is driven by brokers and almost all material available on learning to trade is tied directly or indirectly to the broker industry whose agenda is to teach trading strategies that make the most money for THEM. Because the industry is unregulated, brokers are able to get away with many less than ethical practices. For instance, it is ironic that another reader mentions how Kathy covers the subject of the "carry trade" in detail.

You will learn directly from Sherman McClellan and his son, Tom, on how to use this powerful indicator. You will also learn how you can apply this unique indicator to the futures market. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only video on this subject.

Fundamental analysts say it's impossible to time the markets, and in a way they're right...It is impossible to time the market using fundamental factors. One has to look at the technical indicators to get the right insights. It can be done, and we can help.”
- Tom and Sherman McClellan

About the Authors:
Tom McClellan's research into market movements is almost entirely technical in nature, and has resulted in consistent top 10 rankings for intermediate stock market and gold timing according to Timer Digest. Tom is the editor of both The McClellan Market Report and its companion Daily Fax Edition. He is a graduate of West Point where he studied aerospace engineering, and served as an Army helicopter pilot for 11 years. He began his own study of market technical analysis while in the service. #15: E-Books : Investments (vol. I and II) by Zvi Bodie

Investments (vol. I and II) by Zvi Bodie

This book has a tremendous amount of valuable information for those of us who want to understand what investments are actually about. There is a lot more to it than the simple bromides peddled in the popular press and media. Yet, when you get some basic concepts down, they become easier to understand and evaluate. The popular press is misleading in its oversimplification and silly statements (like "no one is buying today").

There are valuable websites listed along the way for additional and related information. The authors and publisher also provide a website with materials including spreadsheets directly related to this book. The part of the site with online quizzes has a few typos and scoring errors, and that should be fixed, but the online materials are generally ok.

First, let it be said that there seems to be no decent book on Investment Theory out there, and that, in that sense, this one might be slightly better than others on the market...

Once you learn to approach analysts' calls with a healthy dose of skepticism, and follow what analysts are thinking versus what they are actually saying, there is measurable value to be found in the recommendations of the pros.

Predict Market Swings With Technical Analysis by Michael McDonald

A fresh perspective on predicting the market

The experience of Wall Street investment manager and analyst Michael McDonald offers a new perspective on how to navigate the turbulent ups and downs of the markets. His innovative approach to the stock market teaches investors how to use new investment strategies intended to replace the "buy and hold forever" strategies of yesterday. McDonald discusses what a "trading range" market is-a roller-coaster ride in which the market will neither gain nor lose much ground-and guides readers through this market with his proven investment strategies. This book provides an understandable way to make sense of the unpredictable stock market, taking into account more complex theories, including chaos and contrarian approaches. Along with his expert advice, McDonald presents four investing paradoxes that will help investors make smarter decisions now and predict where the market is heading, using his proven theories.

The efficient market theory concludes that stock prices are essentially random and unpredictable. So how do thousands of professionals earn a living each year on Wall Street by predicting stock prices? The answer is quite simple-by using techniques that allow for a stock market that can at times become predictable.

Let Wall Street financial consultant and market analyst Michael McDonald show you how to navigate the turbulent ups and downs of the market in Predict Market Swings with Technical Analysis. This fresh approach to trading using technical analysis will teach you how to trade the swings of the market by catching the upswings and selling just before major downswings.

The Micro Cap Investor by Richard Imperiale

Learn how today's smartest investors are discovering opportunities--and reaping profits--ahead of the Wall Street pros . . .

Wall Street research is often hesitant to focus on small companies. This creates a situation where many small high-quality companies go largely uncovered by Wall Street firms.

Let The Micro Cap Investor show you how to uncover today's most promising companies, and use the power of micro cap investing to dramatically improve your long-term investment performance.

Micro cap stocks are all but ignored by professional investors who can't risk losing their companies' clients--and their own careers--to the sudden volatility and price swings that are common to the micro cap market. But it is just that volatility, plus their proven record for outperforming large cap stocks over the long term, that makes micro caps perfect for independent investors looking for market-beating returns.

Fibonacci and Gann Applications in Financial Markets by George MacLean

There are many books covering Fibonacci from an artistic and historical point of view and almost as many suggesting that Fibonacci retracements and numbers can be successfully applied to financial market time series. What is missing is a book that addresses the common errors in using screen based Fibonacci (and Gann and other tools).

The book is a critical exploration of Fibonacci numbers, retracements, projections, timeframes and fanlines and their current usage within the financial markets by technical analysts. Although they can be extremely effective analytical tools when used appropriately, mistakes in usage can be extremely costly from a financial and credibility viewpoint. George MacLean takes a brief look at the history of Fibonacci and Gann, before providing a full account of their applications in financial markets, including fixed income, equity, foreign exchange, commodities and indexes. In particular, he draws attention to the overuse and misuse of easily applied computer packages available to professional and amateur traders.

It is great to see a new book dedicated to the understanding of such classical technical methods. In an age where computerized trading has become the norm rather than the exception, it is essential that people don't forget the power of these ancient techniques and their complete relevance to modern markets.
