Jennifer Batten is an American guitarist who first received word-of-mouth attention that eventually led guitar magazines to take notice of her highly original approach to the electric guitar. On Guitar Player Monthly's premier compilation CD, John Stix wrote, "It was Jennifer's version of John Coltrane's "Giant Steps" that was considered by her peers the "scariest and most requested cut on the disc." At one point Batten was in six different bands playing many genres including rock, metal, fusion and funk. She was selected from over 100 guitarists to play in Michael Jackson's band on his one and a half year world tour. She played for a total of 4.5 million people on Jackson's first solo tour, the Bad Tour. In the following years she joined Michael on his "Dangerous Tour" as well as 1997's "HIStory Tour", traveling to such countries as South Africa and India. She also joined him in Super Bowl XXVII's half time entertainment which aired to the largest audience in television history (1.5 billion) In January '93, she joined Jackson to partake in Superbowl XXVII's half time entertainment which aired to one and half billion people in 80 nations. It was the largest audience in television history. |

# Release: December 12, 2006 # Original Release Date: 1985 Reissue of Blackie & the boys' 1985 album for Capitol with seven bonus tracks added: the B-sides 'Mississippi Queen' & 'Savage' and live versions of 'On Your Knees', 'Hellion', 'L.O.V.E. Machine', 'Animal (**** Like A Beast)' and 'I Wanna Be Somebody', all recorded at the Lyceum in October of1984. 17 tracks total. Also contains the original cover art.1998 Snapper release. The second WASP album, and another incredibly solid effort. If you are a hard rock fan, you must not miss this one. The Last Command is the best W.A.S.P. album, surpassed only by The Headless Children. The sound of the music along with the shrill voice of Blackie Lawless make this an excellent buy for any W.A.S.P. fan. This is true eighties style metal. In 1985 W.A.S.P. released their second album "The Last Command" which was a minor hit with a couple of tracks that had popular videos on mtv, those being Wild Child and Blind in Texas.Considering the 1980's was when this kind of music ruled the charts,it disappoints that this group was not more popular than they where. WASP is a killer band, who put out many great albums, do yourself a favor and by hear this album you will not be disappointed |

#11: Music » Music Video : Steve Vai - BIG TROUBLE |

Steve Vai’s technical mastery of the guitar is such that, like a gunslinger of old, he used to challenge the audience at Frank Zappa gigs to bring along music scores for him to sight read live on stage. Naturally enough Vai’s reputation spread and his solos soon became one of the benchmarks that aspiring guitarists measure themselves against. A brief spell in 1985 with Alcatrazz (replacing Yngwie Malmsteen), followed by a couple of years with David Lee Roth, who had by that time split, very publicly, from Eddie Van Halen. His iconic status also led to a collaboration with Ibanez with whom has designed several signature guitars. Steve Vai's guitar work on that album is really amazing, and for the most part totally unconventional. What a monster. What’s What With … Steve Vai You may not know the name Steve Vai. But unless you think that heavy metal is just the stuff you don’t want in your drinking water, you’ve undoubtedly heard his screamingly fast guitar work, since he’s played with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, David Lee Roth, Frank Zappa, and Whitesnake. Since leaving that world of overindulgence in the ’80s, Vai has maintained a successful solo career with more than a dozen albums; he appears tonight at the Keswick and on Saturday at the Borgata. I caught up with this six-string soldier before sound check. — Victor Fiorillo |

#12: Music : EXTREME - Saudades de Rock (Release Date: August 4, 2008) |

Extreme is a US Rock band that achieved popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some of Extreme's influences, Queen and Van Halen (the latter of which Gary Cherone would eventually join and later leave), are readily apparent from their music's multi-part vocal harmonies and electric guitar tone and instrumental techniques. The band lends the listener a sound that blends the genre of glam metal with the shredding guitar work of thrash metal. Being asked about their style, Extreme categorized their music as 'Funky Metal'. Extreme has released four studio albums, two EPs (in Japan) and two compilations since its formation. The band was one of the most successful of those from the early 1990s, selling over 10 million albums worldwide. Extreme rose to fame with its 1990 release Pornograffitti, which peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200. Saudades de Rock (which roughly translates from Portuguese as "Nostalgic Yearning for Rock") is Extreme's fifth studio album that was released on August 4, 2008. It is the band's first album of new material since 1995's Waiting for the Punchline, and also their first release with new drummer Kevin Figueiredo. |

#13: Music : Sheryl Crow - The Very Best Of |

mp3 Format | 128 kbps | 69 MB Despite the photographic presence of an acoustic guitar (the rock & roll equivalent of a rubber bullet), the enviably lovely hair and the unassuming knitwear, Sheryl Crow is staring back at us from the cover of The Very Best Of with her chin resting on a fist clenched tightly with white-knuckled defiance. This is, after all, the girl whose wishful thinking led her to sing "All I wanna do is have some fun" while privately preferring to either curl up in bed for a very long time or roll over and die (she's recently come out of the closet with regards to her longstanding battles with depression). #14: Music : Sheryl Crow - C'mon C'mon |

| The Author: CaseMan | 17 September 2008 | Views: 610 |

|
| |
mp3 Format | 192 kbps | 77 MB Sheryl Crow's first studio album in four years shows a woman if not on the verge of a nervous breakdown, then one who has gone a little off the rails and is in the process of pulling herself back on track again. For her past three studio albums, Crow has been known as the quintessential party girl who liked a beer buzz in the morning, but C'mon, C'mon shows her to be much more than that. Breakup, illness, and loss have tempered her good-time persona, and like other life-altering events, both her character and lyrics are stronger for it. This latest offering might not break any new musical ground--again relying on her retooling of '70s country rock--but she displays an honesty and naked vulnerability not witnessed in her earlier work, honing her pain to a fine, lyrical edge. The brooding "Weather Channel" shows a rawboned Crow unafraid to display her emotional bruising, but without losing any of her sly wit: "Just a pill to make me happy / I know it may not fix the hinges, but at least the door has stopped its creaking." Besides songs reflecting her newfound poignancy are a couple of swaggering rockers that recall middle-period Stones, including "You're an Original," featuring Lenny Kravitz, the whimsical and insouciant "Steve Mc Queen," which finds Crow boasting "I ain't taking sh*t off of no one," and the deceptively frothy "Soak Up the Sun," which features the long missing-in-action Liz Phair on background vocals. In addition to resurrecting Phair, Crow also has compiled a paparazzo's dream, soliciting the vocal talents of pals Stevie Nicks, Natalie Maines , Emmylou Harris, Don Henley, and inexplicably, the actress Gwyneth Paltrow. |

mp3 Format | 224-320 kbps | 66.5 MB Global neo-soul rock superstars Maroon 5 are back with their much-anticipated sophomore album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long. The follow-up to the 10x platinum, Grammy-winning Songs About Jane will be "sexier and stronger," according to frontman Adam Levine, who looked to '80s icons such as Prince, Michael Jackson, and Talking Heads for inspiration. Recorded at home in Los Angeles with producers Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Eminem), Mark "Spike" Stent (Bjork, Keane, Gwen Stefani), Mark Endert (Madonna, Fiona Apple), and Eric Valentine ( Queens of the Stone Age, Nickel Creek), the album promises to be a louder take on the pop sounds of their first effort. "It's definitely aggressive, upbeat and pounding," says Levine. Track Listing:1. Back At Your Door 2. Makes Me Wonder 3. Little of Your Time 4. Wake Up Call 5. Won't Go Home Without You |

#16: Music : Pink Floyd - The Complete Zabriskie Point Sessions |

mp3 Format | 128 kbps | 70 MB This is an amazing album containing 15 outtakes from the famous sessions for the Antonioni cult classic. After recording for several days, only three songs ended up on the official soundtrack. Over the years several outtakes appeared on dubious and soundwise poor bootlegs. In 1997 a revised edition of Zabriskie Point was released, including four previously unreleased Floyd takes. But there was more, much more as this release proves. No less than fifteen outtakes you never heard before in this quality or in any quality! |

mp3 Format | 128 kbps | 132.8 MB While the album title may be more than just a little ambitious, the content certainly packs a punch! If I was to assemble a group of songs for an album titled like this one, I would have most assuredly included some of the music you'll find here. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Montrose, Ted Nugent, all bring to the party the qualities any real fan of heavy metal lives for. From beginning to end, this collection will keep your walls shakin' and your neighbors quakin'! |
