Fifteen-year-old Saori’s (Shida Mirai) life falls apart when her older brother is arrested for the murder of two children. The media quickly descend on Saori’s family, and the angry mob soon follow as the sensational case turns into national news. Worried about their safety, the police arrange new homes and names for Saori and her family to protect them from the media circus. World-weary detective Katsura (Sato Koichi) ends up becoming the temporary guardian for Saori, a job that he spurns initially. But he soon sees how much the case and media coverage has affected the emotionally traumatized teenager, and how far the tabloids reach.

After fighting the communists in Finland, Max Manus returns to Norway, currently occupied by the Nazis. He joins with the Norwegian resistance movement in their fight against the Germans but is arrested. He manages to escape to Scotland where he receives training before being sent back to Norway to carry out various sabotage missions against the occupational force.

Returning to Norway with his friend Gregers Gram, his first mission is an attack on German supply ships. He is spectacularly successful, and soon he becomes a special target for the Gestapo commander Siegfried Wolfgang Fehmer. Manus, however, avoids capture, and with Gram and Gunnar Sønsteby he forms the so-called "Oslo-group".

Stockholm becomes a meeting point for Norwegians in allied military service. Here Gram introduces Manus to Tikken, who works as a Norwegian contact for the British consulate. The two soon develop a special relationship.

As the war becomes more and more brutal, many of Manus' friends lose their lives in the struggle against the Germans, and he starts to blame himself for being the one who survives. In a meeting with Fehmer he realises that everybody is a victim of the meaninglessness of war.

For several years now, "DuckTales" reruns have been missing from television or at best relegated to odd hours on the digital cable network Toon Disney. Revisiting the series for the first time in over a decade proved to quite a pleasant experience for me. Any aging undergone since last watching "DuckTales" is bound to have had a much greater effect on viewers than the show. It holds up as diverting, involving, and a generally good time. For the purposes of this review, I received the DVD less than a week before release date, which meant plowing through the more than ten hours of episodes as quickly as possible. Even in this less than leisurely viewing fashion, these episodes provided entertainment above and beyond what you would expect of a daily cartoon series created in 1987 or today.

The film opens in Gethsemane in medias res as Jesus prays and is tempted by Satan, while his apostles, Peter, James, and John sleep. After receiving thirty pieces of silver, one of Jesus' other apostles, Judas Iscariot, approaches with the temple guard and betrays Jesus with a kiss. As the guards move in to arrest Jesus, Peter cuts off the ear of Malchus, but Jesus heals the ear. The temple guard arrest Jesus and the apostles flee. John tells Mary and Mary Magdalene of the arrest, and Peter follows Jesus at a distance. Caiaphas holds a trial of Jesus over the objection of some of the other priests, who are expelled from the court. When questioned by Caiaphas whether he is the son of God, Jesus replies "I AM," which Caiaphas believes justifies the charge of blasphemy, and Jesus is condemned to death. Three times Peter denies knowing Jesus, and the remorseful Judas returns the money. Tormented by demons, Judas flees the city and hangs himself with a rope from a dead donkey.

Act of War: High Treason takes place over the course of three days, three years after the events in Act of War: Direct Action. On the eve of the U.S. Presidential election, the two candidates for President of the United States, Senator Watts and Vice President Cardiff are attacked, and the sitting POTUS, President Baldwin is assassinated with an explosive device while his motorcade is leaving the White House. VPOTUS Cardiff survives and becomes the new POTUS, while Senator Watts is assassinated in Manhattan.

The original Need for Speed was released for 3DO in 1994 with versions released for the PC (DOS) (1995), PlayStation & SEGA Saturn (1996) following shortly afterwards. Most cars and tracks are available at the beginning of the game, and the objective is to unlock the remaining locked content by winning tournaments.
