#8: E-Books : 30 Days to Market Mastery by Jacob Bernstein |

The best thing to be gleaned here is the methodology itself. The methodology is first a setup, then a trigger, then follow through. A setup is a seasonal correlation or momentum divergence, as examples. Then a trigger gets you in the trade, like a stochastics crossover. Follow through is simply money management. This book provides excellent clarity in finding potential trades, determining an appropriate entry and subsequently managing the trade. Momentum divergence is the main indicator and the methodology is clearly detailed in terms of the setup, the trigger and the follow through. Questions are included at the end of the chapters. It is not difficult to use the methodology on any charting software. The methods can be extended to utilize other similar indicators. Reading this book is a low risk proposition with major potential rewards. This is definitely one book that any new trader should read. An excellent book for new traders, 30 Days to Market Mastery outlines an easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement approach to learning how to trade. This book covers the fundamentals of how to structure trades in a disciplined fashion, so as to avoid vague decisions and acting on unclear trading signals. It also provides a number of strategies for entering and exiting the market in a way that maximizes the chances of making money and minimizes the potential for losing money. With this book as their guide, readers will learn the proper organizational, analytical, and behavioral skills that are vital to consistent success in trading. In 30 Days to Market Mastery each trading day contains a single lesson, and each lesson contains a quiz to help the reader master the material. |

#12: E-Books : Market Masters: How Successful Traders Think, Trade and Invest by Jake Bernstein |

Bernstein, is the president of a Chicago commodity advisory firm specializing in cyclic analysis, forecasting and personal psychology for traders in a notoriously precarious market--the buying and selling of contracts for future delivery of crude oil, pork bellies, eggs, grain, Treasury bonds and foreign currencies. He does not deal here with actual Board of Trade operations or even with the many trading systems because, he notes, the trading system is no better than the trader who uses it. Instead, through eight interviews with successful participants in a business that can generate millions in gain or loss overnight, Bernstein emphasizes the importance of such essential trader characteristics as studiousness, persistence, courage and decisiveness. Clearly the guide is not designed as a vade mecum for beginners, but it is a useful commentary for those already engaged in sophisticated investment activity. According to Jake Bernstein, great traders are created, not born. Those who lack discipline, persistence and self-confidence lose the never-ending challenge of trading profits. But those who survive the battle by using the tools of the masters enjoy the fruits of consistent success. Here is an opportunity to learn from some of the best-known international traders ever: a legend in his own time. |

"I'm TEACHING YOU SOMETHING that I know works," says Jake Bernstein. "It's real simple." Want to make a killing trading futures? All you need to know, says Bernstein, is that many seasonal price patterns occur year after year. Buy live hog futures on Oct. 30 and sell on Nov. 27. That's a trade that would have made you money almost every year in recent decades, he claims. Bet on the S&P 500 March contract to rise from Jan. 12 through Jan. 18. For 15 years, he says, this trade was a winner 93% of the time. Does anyone believe his assertion? Amazingly, yes. By the promise of easy money, audience members line up to buy Bernstein's products, among them his books, with titles like The Seasonal Trader's Bible and The Best of Bernstein: A Treasure Chest of Jake Bernstein's Market Wisdom. His monthly newsletter costs $400 annually; his weekly newsletter costs $895 a year. He sells three other newsletters, plus video courses and a CD-ROM ($695) that lists 60,000 seasonal trades. He offers telephone hot lines and charges up to $2,500 per person for his two-day seminars. Jake Bernstein professes to be an expert on the psychology of trading. His qualifications? In registering with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Montreal-raised Bernstein wrote that he held a master's degree in psychology from Chicago's Roosevelt University. |

Trading appears deceptively easy. When a beginner wins, he feels brilliant and invincible. Then he takes wild risks and loses everything. People trade for many reasons-some rational and many irrational. Trading offers an opportunity to make a lot of money in a hurry. Money symbolizes freedom to many people, even though they often do not know what to do with their freedom. If you know how to trade, you can make your own hours, live and work wherever you please, and never answer to a boss. Trading is a fascinating intellectual pursuit: chess, poker, and a crossword rolled in one. Trading attracts people who love puzzles and brainteasers. You can be free. You can live and work anywhere in the world. You can be independent from routine and not answer to anybody. This is the life of a successful trader. You can learn how to become a successful trader with these videos!l You may base your trades on fundamental or technical analysis. You may trade because of hunches about economic and political trends, use "inside information," or simply hope. Why do most traders lose and wash out of the markets? Emotional and thoughtless trading are two reasons, but there is another. Markets are actually set up so that most traders must lose money. |
