The Journey: Shock Malaysia with Bintang LimaTHOUGH new album owned group of music DEWA having title “Bintang Lima” has circulated sufficiently long in Indonesia, but in Malaysia is just circularized around two months ago. The album simply gets remarkable greeting from public Malaysia. This thing is proven when Dewa performs a promotion-tour in Malaysia performed in Hard Rock Café Kualalumpur (January15, 2001). In the concert performance, DEWA greeted by 700 audiences building drug, and noted by around 400 others who beyond the building. Besides DEWA is including group of first band bouncing Indonesian song in Hard Rock Café. According to the manager of DEWA who escorts the tour, confess has just been is this, there are artist enabled by singing Indonesian songs in one of cafe in Kualalumpur. While the regulation is every coming up artist must bring English-speaking song, without aside. " We really feels is respectable hears explanation from the cafe organizer," express Didit. From the journey of the promo-tour in Malaysia, confessed DEWA is which is first. Of course the personnel of DEWA surprises with greeting which they received from the the devotees in Malaysia. But the surprise taste becomes separate pride, because some of they have knocked by heart with songs Dewa. (sponsored by Ampeg & Ritmuller Guitars, Cannon, Technics) |

#12: Music : Yngwie Malmsteen - Alchemy (TAB GUITARS+MP3) |

Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Alchemy" is an amazing album from start to finish. Being the first album that Yngwie himself has written and arranged everything on, he did a fabulous job. The album has heavy material pretty much all the way through. He left the commercial material off of this one. Yngwie Malmsteen is arguably the most technically accomplished hard rock guitarist to emerge during the '80s. Combining a dazzling technique honed over years of obsessive practice with a love for such classical composers as Bach, Beethoven, and Paganini, Malmsteen's distinctively Baroque, gothic compositional style and lightning-fast arpeggiated solos rewrote the book on heavy metal guitar. His largely instrumental debut album, Rising Force, immediately upped the ante for aspiring hard rock guitarists and provided the major catalyst for the '80s guitar phenomenon known as "shredding," in which the music's main focus was on impossibly fast, demanding licks rather than songwriting. #13: Music » Music Video : STEVE VAI - For The Love of GOD |

"SHUT UP – WE KNOW YOU CAN PLAY!” This is a Video instruction how to play "For The Love of God" note by note in PASSION AND WARFARE Album Widely acclaimed as his best album, Passion and Warfare finds Steve Vai coming into his own as a composer, as well as bypassing vocals almost entirely. His style isn't quite as derivative of influences Frank Zappa and Joe Satriani as it was six years earlier on Flex-able; while some of Vai's sense of humor is still evident on tracks like the cock rock strut of "The Audience Is Listening," it is mostly replaced by a spiritual reflectiveness on ballads like "For the Love of God" and "Blue Powder" and dignified, committed rockers like "I Would Love To" and "Liberty." Vai is a more distinguished composer than most of his guitar-shredder contemporaries, and rather than simply showing off his technique, he isn't afraid to experiment or take chances in his playing. Thus, Passion and Warfare is arguably the richest and best hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the '80s. Steve Vai (SV) took time out from talking to muso mags to shoot the breeze with me backstage at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 4 June 1997. Mike Keneally (MK) also joined us on the fat floating sofa in Steve’s dressing room. |

OK forget these south american reviewers who have never heard of the most of the guitarists on this album. At the same time, forget the American people who have NEVER heard of these guitarists because they are too busy listening to poppy girl grabbing bands like KORN and Limp Bizkit. This album was released in Japan for a reason and this reason is that the Japanese appreciate a good ass rocking guitar session. Their pop music is indicative of this as most Japanese pop songs have an average of 4 guitar solos per every 7 songs as compared to America where it is one guitar solo per seven pop songs. George Lynch and John Petrucci come out as the most technical guitarists on this albums. Everyone else is stand by on rock and blues scales. Of course that would have been Lynch as well if it were not for his recent (1994) lessons at Guitar Institute of Technology in Los Angeles. For once we also get to hear John Petrucci go improv as most of the Dream Theater series guitars have been mainly real hard studio work and composing. You can tell the difference in each guitarist as each uses his own unique sound on the album. This is a must have both in session creativity and unique guitar theory for the avid guitar listener/fan. No, Greg Howe does not make a special appearance (though in my opinion, Greg and his star pupil, Prashant Aswani, excel above these sessioneers) in this album, but there is plenty to listen to otherwise like Andy Timmons, Brad Gillis, and Al Pitrelli (virtual unknowns in modern guitar). |

The album Reload is essentially the tracks that were not finished from the Load sessions, at the time the band had planned to make Load a double album but after a lengthy stay in the studio they decided to split it up over two albums. The band insisted that these weren’t Load rejects and claimed that these songs were of a more extreme nature either heavier or mellower that needed more time spent so they decided to leave them for this album. Kicking off with the bombastic Fuel, the album immediately announces itself as a “don’t fuck with this” type of affair. Memory bares another side of the met with an interesting choice of guest vocals by Marianne faithful (renowned for her escapades involving Mick Jagger and a mars bar!!) that offset the often-unrealised heaviness and greatness of the song. Devils Dance is a mother of a song, with a bass heavy grove underlying the entire journey with monstrous vocals throughout. Up next we have an astonishing ballad in the form of the Unforgiven II, more than a reworking of the original with a character of its own whilst still being underpinned with the melody of the first from the Black Album. This track is immensely deep and powerful, an awesome track, and in an equal for the already acclaimed Unforgiven released some six years previous to this offering. |
