#2: E-Books : 45 Years in Wall Street by W. D. Gann

45 Years in Wall Street by W. D. Gann

This book was written in 1949. By all means what put forth by Gann as the 12 and the 24 rules are still valid today. In fact, his ideas are still being copied in simply all other trading books. Even the diary like section in Soros' Alchemy of Fianance did resembled the style of a majority part of this book. In short, a must read for any trader!

W. D. Gann's last book, 45 Years in Wall Street, written when he was 72 years of age, was arguably his best stock market book. It was written with the immense benefit of his lifetime of experience in Wall Street. It was inspired by a desire to pass on his wisdom to others.

Gann always openly hinted that the details for his celebrated forecasting method were concealed in his writings. This book, as is all others written by Gann, is written on two levels. The first level is expository and describes how to swing-trade. The arcana submerged in the second level can be approached by examining the recurrent themes about time, price, and geometry, and the dates which he feels are significant.

#3: E-Books : The Art of Day Trading

The Art of Day Trading

It's no secret most day-trading profits are made by floor traders. They not only have the advantages of low commissions and ease of execution, but they have the "edge" or the ability to buy at the bid price and sell at the ask price. Although day-trading off the floor is a completely different game, traders also must have some sort of advantage that will give them a trading edge.

Certainly live, tick-by-tick quoting equipment is necessary, along with charting and technical analysis software. Most novice day-traders watch prices, analyze various intraday charts and indicators, thinking they can assimilate this flow of information and make profitable trades. They often hope for some sort of "sixth sense" to give them an advantage.

Unfortunately, the market usually demonstrates it has more of a sixth sense and soon separates the trader from his money.

Something concrete is needed to give a trader the confidence and commitment to "pull the trigger." There are so many examples in books and magazine articles isolating some guru's favorite chart formation or technical indicator that shows where to buy or sell.

#7: E-Books : DeMark On Day Trading Options by DeMark Tom Jr

DeMark On Day Trading Options by DeMark Tom Jr

This book is the option day trading blueprint you've been waiting for.

This book, which is prefaced and praised by Lawrence G. McMillan, who is himself quite an authority on options, is neither an introduction to options, nor is it a technical guide or text covering the topic. An introduction would not offer advanced indicators and concepts, which this book does, and a technical guide could not be read by a person who hasn't any previous knowledge of options, but this book can.

The first chapters of this book are for the reader who has never heard of an option before. Then the book moves to subject matter that is useful to all readers, and it finally ends with advanced methodology which is in easily understood, non-technical terms, and is available for the savvy option trader and the novice, who by simply reading this book has become just one notch down from the savvy investor.

DeMark’s business is technical trading strategies and indicators. When asked to summarize his techniques, DeMark quickly responds, “They’re all original, all mechanical and all objective.” These are the attributes on which DeMark hangs his hat, a response to what he has always believed was an unhealthy level of subjectivity and redundancy in much of the technical analysis world.

#9: E-Books : Trade What You See by Larry Pesavento

Trade What You See by Larry Pesavento

It should prove valuable to those already practicing technical analysis and who want to take their trading to the next level. The book lays out a fairly simple mechanical system which can be implemented immediately to improve one's bottom line.

Trading the financial markets is extremely difficult, but with the right approach, traders can achieve success. Nobody knows this better than authors Larry Pesavento and Leslie Jouflas, both traders and educators of traders, who have consistently used pattern recognition to capture profits from the markets. In Trade What You See, Pesavento and Jouflas show traders how to identify patterns as they are developing and exactly where to place entry and exit orders.

While some patterns derive from the techniques of Wall Street's earliest traders and other patterns reflect Pesavento's emphasis on the geometry of market movements and Fibonacci numbers.. Filled with hard-won knowledge gained through years of market experience, Trade What You Seeoutlines both a practical and sophisticated approach to trading that will be of interest to both novice and seasoned traders alike.

"Trade What You See" is an excellent guide to help traders filter through market volatility and media hype. Jouflas' and Pesavento's latest offering is a concise overview of how to look at the markets and identify high probability, low risk trade opportunities. From Fibonacci ratios, AB=CD patterns, to trade management and trading plan, any trader can supplement their own trading style with the basic trade guidelines outlined in this book.

#13: E-Books : Day Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien

Day Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien

The currency/foreign exchange (FX) market is by far the largest financial market in the world, with trading volumes surpassing $1.9 trillion a day. Although primarily dominated by a worldwide network of interbank traders, a new era of Internet-based communication technologies has recently allowed individual investors to gain direct access to this popular—and profitable—market.

Written by Kathy Lien—chief strategist for the number one online currency broker in the world—Day Trading the Currency Market reveals a variety of technical and fundamental profit-making strategies for trading the currency/FX market, and provides a more detailed look at how this market actually works.

Filled with in-depth insight and expert advice, Day Trading the Currency Market can show you how to enter this highly competitive arena with confidence and exit with profits.

You will find some interesting and informative content in this book that can be useful in your educational path in Forex. But it is important to keep in mind that the book is written not by a trading entrepreneur but by a representative of one of the largest Forex brokers. To become a successful trader it is essential to recognize the vast difference in agenda between winning traders and brokers. The entire industry is driven by brokers and almost all material available on learning to trade is tied directly or indirectly to the broker industry whose agenda is to teach trading strategies that make the most money for THEM. Because the industry is unregulated, brokers are able to get away with many less than ethical practices. For instance, it is ironic that another reader mentions how Kathy covers the subject of the "carry trade" in detail.

#14: E-Books : Float Analysis by Steve Woods

Float Analysis by Steve Woods

This book is really good since it takes a subject (A Stocks Float) and explains its` important role, and gives the reader a little more education on buying and selling power in the markets and this may be a brilliant new concept.

A stock's float is the total number of shares available to the public for trading. When this total number of shares gets traded in the market (whether over a week, a month, or a year), you have a "float turnover". This book argues that float turnovers are closely correlated with significant price moves. It's a simple and clear idea, made all the more persuasive by the fact that there's a common-sense explanation for it: a float turnover represents an complete change of ownership in who holds the stock; so if, for example, the new owners are significantly more bullish than the previous owners, they will be more reluctant to sell, and the price will rise.

Mr. Woods makes a good case that the float is a relevant piece of information, and I don't doubt that many traders will be grateful to him for bringing this to their attention.

#15: E-Books : Investment Gurus by Peter J. Tanous

Investment Gurus by Peter J. Tanous

It sometimes seems as if there were as many different investment styles in practice today as stocks in which to invest, with virtually every one of them--styles as well as stocks--offering varying levels of appeal to various people.

Professional investment consultant Peter J. Tanous has come to understand this after three decades in the field, and in Investment Gurus, he presents a wide range of tactics and strategies that have been developed by acknowledged stock-picking experts. At the heart of this book are Tanous's interviews with 18 top money managers and academics, including Mario Gabelli, William F. Sharpe, Peter Lynch, Laura J. Sloate, and Merton Miller.

The book concludes with "Your Roadmap to Wealth," which summarizes the success factors common to each of the money managers interviewed and suggests ways to develop an intelligent personal investment plan.

Can a smart money manager working from the outside revive a bankrupt company with his clients' massive capital and a sharp management agenda? Are "value" stocks better than "growth" stocks? Can anyone "beat the market"? Is volatility okay? What about the role of the Internet in trading? These and other questions vital to stock market investors are aired in this remarkable series of interviews with investment industry leaders by Tanous, whose firm, Lynx Investment Advisory, finds money managers for billion-dollar clients.

Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques by Steve Nison

This is clearly one of the best investment books ever written…a distinguished effort of research, analysis, and translation… not only complete and informative, but also enjoyable to read. Steve has done a good job of relating, and clearly illustrating, the way in which the Japanese candlestick charting techniques fit in with and complement traditional Western technical tools… this book has become the standard text on the subject.

An exciting and valuable addition to the literature of technical analysis… this ancient Japanese technique is available to American traders in a comprehensive, well-written, and understandable format. It’s hard not to be too effusive about the quality of Nison’s work, this strongly recommended book, which has already become an investment classic.

The candlestick charts and charting techniques provided by Nison have become an important tool for our international securities market making. They provide a wealth of information and are instrumental for our daily operations. The charting technique is valuable for the individual or professional investor.

Completely informative and global in its outlook, Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, Second Edition provides an in-depth explanation of candlestick plotting and analysis. #17: E-Books : Bollinger on Bollinger Bands by John A. Bollinger

Bollinger on Bollinger Bands by John A. Bollinger

Bollinger Bands are a technical analysis tool invented by John Bollinger in the 1980s. Having evolved from the concept of trading bands, Bollinger Bands can be used to measure the highness or lowness of the price relative to previous trades.

The purpose of Bollinger Bands is to provide a relative definition of high and low. By definition, prices are high at the upper band and low at the lower band. This definition can aid in rigorous pattern recognition and is useful in comparing price action to the action of indicators to arrive at systematic trading decisions.

The use of Bollinger Bands varies wildly among traders. Some traders buy when price touches the lower Bollinger Band and exit when price touches the moving average in the center of the bands. Other traders buy when price breaks above the upper Bollinger Band or sell when price falls below the lower Bollinger Band. Moreover, the use of Bollinger Bands is not confined to stock traders; options traders, most notably implied volatility traders, often sell options when Bollinger Bands are historically far apart or buy options when the Bollinger Bands are historically close together, in both instances, expecting volatility to revert back towards the average historical volatility level for the stock.-technical analysis.

Get the word from the Master! ... the indicator discussion is heaven for tech junkies.

#18: E-Books : The Global Money Markets The Global Money Markets by Frank J. Fabozzi

The Global Money Markets The Global Money Markets by Frank J. Fabozzi

This is a timely book that covers in great detail virtually all apsects of the markets. Well written and well worth getting.

Fabozzi, Mann and Choudhry have written an excellent introduction to the money market. Money Market has long been the standard text for this market, so let's compare. For many readers, Fabozzi, Mann and Choudhry will be the preferred text.

This is not a bad thing. Many people don't have time to read the entire Stigum but can get through the shorter book in a few sittings. If someone has a job interview in a couple days and needs to learn about the money market fast, they are going to read it.

The book achieves its relative brevity with only a modest sacrificing in depth of detail. Where it compromises is breadth. While Stigum devotes 400 pages to discussing the major players before proceeding to discuss the instruments that are traded, Fabozzi, Mann and Choudhry focus primarily on the instruments.

Coverage is broad, including Treasuries, agencies, corporate debt, financial institutions' debt, floaters, repos, short-term MBS and ABS, futures, FRA's, swaps, caps and floors. They also have nice chapters on asset-liability management and on bank capital requirements.

#19: E-Books : Stock Patterns for Day Trading by Barry Rudd

Stock Patterns for Day Trading by Barry Rudd

At last! A real book from a real trader!. Barry's chart patterns & trading tactics have been used by professionals for years. These skills can reap great rewards.

Rudd's book illustrates chart patterns of top traders. They provide a solid foundation in technical analysis for day trading. This book describes the trading strategies used by a professional stock trader in his own trading. The ideas come both from friends who are successful traders as well as his own experience with SOES trading. The collection of trading patterns described represents one of the first full-fledged books of instruction on short term, swing and day trading in individual stocks. The author's intraday trend trading approach and his scalping method are both described in detail. He uses the setups daily in his own trading. This manual should prove valuable to the thousands of short term stock traders who seek to make their living from speculating on short term price swings. It is a toolbox for finding high probability trades for success as you trade the stock market. The technical ideas are primarily crafted around the personality of the NASDAQ market but may also be implemented in New York trades.

This one is a MUST READ! This book will not disappint you. Rudd gives clear, concise examples of multiple chart formations that lead to high percent winning trades. There is no hype. Just the real goods. Samples for longs & shorts; early in the day entriees or intraday trades. There are more pages of actual daily charts explaining entry & exit points than there are pages of writing. Nothing is left to the imagination. For those whose time span is a bit longer 'swing' trades are also covered. If you're a scalper you'll find the proper techniques to follow to ensure your success.

#22: E-Books : Interviews with America's Top Stock Traders by Jack D. Schwager

Interviews with America's Top Stock Traders by Jack D. Schwager

A great educational tool for amateurs and professionals alike. A terrific tool for investors revealing the trading philosophies and disciplines of those on the frontline in our business.

Newcomers to Jack Schwager's series on top traders, as well as fervent fans of his first two entries Market Wizards and The New Market Wizards, will find that Stock Market Wizards offers another revealing look at a wide spectrum of trading styles through the eyes of 15 extraordinarily successful individuals. Transcripts of incisive Q&A sessions between Schwager and traders--including Michael Lauer, Dana Galante, Alphonse "Buddy" Fletcher Jr., and Claudio Guazzoni--examine the ways each approaches their specialty, whether it be value stocks, mutual funds, short selling, options trading, or other market niches.

After brief but interesting introductions that place the subjects' trading practices into perspective, Schwager coaxes from them penetrating observations on setting goals, finding opportunities, learning from mistakes, and operating on a day-to-day basis. While some participants refuse to divulge proprietary practices, and Anthony admits that many traders' activities hold little relevance to individual investors, the basic doctrines nonetheless contain nuggets of wisdom that can be applied by many nonprofessionals. And, in the final "Wizard Lessons" chapter, Schwager details the 65 overarching principles (such as Trade Your Personality, Be Willing to Take a Loss, and The Importance of Setting Goals) he culled from these extensive conversations. --Howard Rothman --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
