#2: E-Books : The Stock Trader - How I Make a Living Trading Stocks by Tony Oz |

"Put your money where your mouth is," came the challenge. So he did. Best selling author, Tony Oz, was challenged by Tim Bourquin and Jim Sugarman, founders of the International Online Trading Expo, to prove that his stock trading strategies work, that he could consistently take higher-than-average returns out of the market. To meet the challenge, Tony kept a trading diary for four weeks, documenting each and every trade he made. The simple story that unfolded turned out to be of much greater consequence than anyone could have foreseen, as Tony chronicled a first-hand description of one of the worst stock market crashes in recent memory. Tony was already into his four-week trading challenge at the peak of the Nasdaq market, just before the Crash of April 2000. Having no idea at the time that he was in the middle of a “correction” that would wipe out over two trillion dollars of stockholder's equity, Tony managed to earn respectable profits each week, and had only a few losing days. What is truly extraordinary is that all trades were on the Long side - not one trade was selling Short in a rapidly declining bear market. The results of the challenge are detailed in this exciting new book. Inside, Tony tells how he chose a broker, set up an account, and then drew a handsome income from the stock market each week, earning a 56% return on his capital in one month - more than most investors earn in a year. Over 100 round trip trades are recorded, charted and explained in a daily trading journal. Tony reveals what he was thinking and feeling, and he explains each trade's strategy, and his profits and losses - all the while walking the reader through his simple methodology and simple rules. At the end of each week, he ordered a check from his broker to “sweep” his account, and prevent compounding of profits. “After all,” Tony explains in the book, “Friday is payday." |

Contents of The Truth of The Stock Tape & Wall Street Stock SelectorBOOK 1. Preparation For Trading BOOK 2. How To Trade BOOK 3. How To Determine The Position Of Stocks BOOK 4. Commodities In addressing you on the subject of investing your surplus funds, I might state that there is no other subject which I could select that so closely concerns your welfare and regarding which you might receive valuable assistance from my instructions. In the United States a stupendous sum, reaching into millions of dollars, is wasted annually in foolish speculations and unwise investments. This senseless waste can be traced to one and only one source, namely, lack of knowledge. Men and women who would not attempt to treat the slightest ailment, or even adjust so common a thing as a kitchen faucet, but would hand each difficulty over to its respective specialist, the doctor or the plumber, will on the spur of the moment and without the slightest preparation, undertake the investment of thousands of dollars in enterprises about which they understand absolutely nothing. Is it any wonder then that they lose? I offer you suggestions and advice in the science of speculation and investment in the same spirit as the physician. |

#8: E-Books : TrimTabs Investing by Charles Biderman |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 2 January 2009 | Views: 630 |
| |
Whether you are an investment professional managing billions of dollars or an individual investor with a small nest egg, TrimTabs Investing shows you how to beat the major stock market averages with less risk. This groundbreaking book begins by comparing the stock market to a casino in which the house (public companies and the insiders who run them) buys and sells shares with the players (institutional and individual investors). TrimTabs Investing argues that stock prices are primarily a function of liquidity—the amount of shares available for purchase and the amount of money available to buy them—rather than fundamental value. Finally, it outlines the building blocks of liquidity theory and explains how you can use them to predict the direction of the stock market. Charles Biderman, a savvy and battle-scarred veteran of the investment wars, has fashioned an intriguing approach to making money in the stock market that adroitly avoids both heavy-breathing speculation and the standard Wall Street practices that enable investors, big and small, to lose money in good markets as well as bad. Aimed at the sophisticated investor (which may or may not be an oxymoron), the book is written in blessedly straightforward prose and is a worthwhile read for anyone with an urge to have a fling at investing. |

#9: E-Books : The Complete Guide to Online Stock Market Investing by Alexander Davidson |

Navigate internet trading and avoid the pitfalls... A useful guide to anyone who wants to know about online or offline share dealing. The Complete Guide to Online Stock Market Investing provides all the information and techniques needed to make money as an online stock market investor. The strategies revealed are tried and tested. In 20 easy modules, readers will discover the secrets of buying bargain stocks and trading. Drawing on the author's most recent experience in the City (London's financial district), this latest edition of the classic guide shows how to: get the most from the broker, select value and growth stocks, read the charts, choose promising investment funds, trade derivatives for fast profit, deal foreign exchange, and manage your money and win. This book will tell you about penny shares, and new issues, and the fact that it is possible to "win" with them. o while this book is well-written, as you would expect from a financial journalist, and contains useful accurate information (hence the 3 stars), it won't tell you definitively how to get rich. And it won't take you 20 days to read. Yes, this book was written by a UK financial journalist. But just because ideas are expressed in ££s (UK pounds) rather than $$s (US dollars) doesn't make them totally worthless; just a little less appropriate. A 'trailing stop' order might be a great idea even on the planet Zarg, where they use Zarg tokens as currency |

#10: E-Books : The New Reality of Wall Street by Donald Coxe |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 28 December 2008 | Views: 644 |
| |
While the author from NV makes a point about the Harris Insight yearly underperformance, Mr. Coxe's performance has beaten the SP over the last three years by 680 basis points annualized. This is a superior book, because of the style of thinking. Typical investors, like the individual from NV, or the herd, think in a conformed fashion and Mr. Coxe takes us out of the conformity and allows us independent thought. He also does a great job explaining what external influences on the market are, the important roles they play( things like euro dollars, central banks, world economies, etc.), and what happens when markets go down or sideways for an extended period of time. This book is explains the Big Picture of global markets and how an individual investor can use a broader understanding of markets to manage a personal investment portfolio. Donald Coxe does a great job of explaining how we got to where we are today. But the best thing is that he offers intelligent, witty insight into what investors should do next. At a time when most investing guides are offering bubblegum advice in a pop psychology wrapper, ths book is a breath of fresh air. |

#11: E-Books : 24 Days by Rebecca Smith |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 24 December 2008 | Views: 361 |
| |
This is the story of Rebecca Smith and John R. Emshwiller, the two reporters who led the Wall Street Journal's reporting on Enron and uncovered the unorthodox partnerships at the heart of the scandal through skill, luck, and relentless determination. It all started in August 2001when Emshwiller was assigned to write a supposedly simple article on the unexpected resignation of Enron CEO Jeff Skilling. During his research, Emshwiller uncovered a buried reference to an off-balance-sheet partnership called LJM. Little did he know, this was the start of a fast and furious ride through the remarkable downfall of a once highly-prized company. This is a terrific book. It should be read by anyone who invests because it will give you a better understanding of not only the Enron case, but of the problem of corrupt executives playing fast and loose with their responsibilities to the investors who employ them. Remember, the investors own the company, not the executives. |

#12: E-Books : Using Options to Buy Stocks by Dennis Eisen |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 8 December 2008 | Views: 555 |
| |
Instructs you on how to generate thousands of dollars a month in premiums to add to stock positions without using your own money. In his book, Dennis Eisen describes exactly one way to trade options: Selling Puts, namely LEAPS (Long-term Equity Anticipation Securities). What makes this book so interesting to read is that Eisen starts with a general overview and then goes into a level of useful detail which you have not seen in any other book on options yet. He explains how options are taxed, how the margin requirement is calculated, and what actually happens when options are exercised/assigned. This knowledge you normally have to acquire in years of practice but Eisen just spreads it out in front of the reader. Despite the level of detail the book is easy to follow, and you will finish it in two hours. The book is divided in three main parts: Part one covers the basics, part two takes a quantitative look at the risk and reward of an actual system, and how you can improve your odds, and part three lists formulas and computer codes. There is also a big appendix with over a hundred tables of put premiums calculated with the Black-Scholes-Formula. The book is rounded off by a bibliography and Eisen's favorite web sites (some of them are outdated). |

#13: E-Books : The Micro Cap Investor by Richard Imperiale |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 28 November 2008 | Views: 910 |
| |
Learn how today's smartest investors are discovering opportunities--and reaping profits--ahead of the Wall Street pros . . . Wall Street research is often hesitant to focus on small companies. This creates a situation where many small high-quality companies go largely uncovered by Wall Street firms. Let The Micro Cap Investor show you how to uncover today's most promising companies, and use the power of micro cap investing to dramatically improve your long-term investment performance. Micro cap stocks are all but ignored by professional investors who can't risk losing their companies' clients--and their own careers--to the sudden volatility and price swings that are common to the micro cap market. But it is just that volatility, plus their proven record for outperforming large cap stocks over the long term, that makes micro caps perfect for independent investors looking for market-beating returns. |

#14: Games : Railroad Tycoon |
| |
| |
The objective of the game is to build and manage a railroad company by laying track, building stations, and buying and scheduling trains. The game models supply and demand of goods and passengers as well as a miniature stock market on which players can buy and sell stock of their own or competing companies. The player may start companies in any of four geographic locales: the Western United States, Northeast United States, Great Britain, or Continental Europe. The company starts with one million dollars in capital; half equity, half a loan. The company may raise additional capital through the sale of bonds. The player manages the business as described above and may also handle individual train movement and build additional industries. The game also has other railroad companies attempting to put the player out of business with stock dealings and "Rate Wars". There are four types of stations: Signal Tower, Depot, Station, and Terminal. The Signal Tower acts as a passing loop and may control movements. The rest service surrounding areas: the Depot serves its own square and the adjoining eight squares, the Station takes another ring, and the Terminal handles up to three squares away. The player can build at most 32 stations. When the player builds the first station they also build their first engine shop. Each engine shop is the manufacturing area for the player's different trains. The player can upgrade and downgrade Depots, Stations, and Terminals. Other facilities such as cool stores and hotels may be added. |
