What a nice day in the scene and it gets even nicer! Of course this is not a long awaited movie, but it features some known actors and the trailer looks promising. Although there are just 46 votes @ IMDB, it has a good average and it will probably worthwhile to watch. Synopsis: Jack (Freddie Prinze, Jr) is a thirty-something advertising exec in New York City , living a life forged from routine. He is successful and stylish… and entirely bored - until he meets Jill (Taryn Manning). In her twenties, fiery and adorable, Jill enters Jack’s life like a hurricane. They meet and instantly connect, launching into a romance. Together they write a Mani festo of Rules To Live By, beginning with Rule 1 - Be Honest. But after too many instances of Jill’s disappearing, Jack forces Jill to reveal her secret. |

The Fourth Power: A Grand Strategy for the United States in the Twenty-First Century"The Fourth Power is a well-reasoned, trenchant extended essay about the place in the world for the United States of America.... His mani festo makes so much sense, a cynic is tempted to say, that it will never become the foundation of U.S. government behavior."--The Denver Post "Extraordinarily thought-provoking. Hart writes with great clarity and directness, yet with profound sophistication... Bush himself and his principal foreign policy advisers would be well served by reading and contemplating this book.... |

#6: E-Books : Understanding Jihad |

Understanding Jihad Publisher: University of California Press | ISBN: 0520242033 | edition 2005 | PDF | 269 pages | 1,12 mbJihad is one of the most loaded and misunderstood terms in the news today. Contrary to popular understanding, the term does not mean "holy war." Nor does it simply refer to the inner spiritual struggle. This book, judiciously balanced, accessibly written, and highly relevant to today's events, unravels the tangled historical, intellectual, and political meanings of jihad. Looking closely at a range of sources from sacred Islamic texts to modern interpretations, Understanding Jihad opens a critically important perspective on the role of Islam in the contemporary world. As David Cook traces the practical and theoretical meanings of jihad, he cites from scriptural, legal, and newly translated texts to give readers a taste of the often ambiguous information that is used to construct Islamic doctrine. He looks closely at the life and teaching of the Prophet Muhammad and at the ramifications of the great Islamic conquests in 634 to 732 A.D. He sheds light on legal developments relevant to fighting and warfare, and places the internal, spiritual jihad within the larger context of Islamic religion. He describes some of the conflicts that occur in radical groups and shows how the more mainstream supporters of these groups have come to understand and justify violence. He has also included a special appendix of relevant documents including materials related to the September 11 attacks and published mani festoes issued by Osama bin Laden and Palestinian suicide-martyrs. |
