Perimeter is the self-appointed rebirth of the Real Time Strategy genre. It employs three innovations to the genre to set it apart from all other RTS games. For one, you will only be able to command five squads of three types of 'specialists' - Soldiers, Officers and Technicians - which are able to morph into different units, if the squad composition matches the requirements for that type of unit. You also have the ability to terraform the landscape around you, raising hills or excavating valleys to zero level, where you may then build structures. Finally, the feature that gives the game its title, you are able to set up an impenetrable shield - perimeter - that renders anything in its radius invulnerable as long as that shield is up. It will drain your energy (the game's only resource) very quickly, so you must use it sparingly if you wish to survive. Hinterland: Orc Lords Review
Orc Lords is an extension of the original Hinterland, a medieval-style RTS that combines battles and building into a single, colorful package. The game begins, like so many others, with character selection. After choosing an avatar, you are essentially plopped into the middle of the playing grounds. Your ruler declares that he expects you to turn the land into something great, a task made even more daunting by the game’s lack of training instruction or tutorial sections. This is problematic for any game in the real-time strategy genre; fortunately, Hinterland is relatively familiar in its feel and operation. Juggling the game’s resources require that you take part in a sort of balancing act, comprised of exploration, fighting, and construction.

Since the game starts with very little to offer in the way of resources, it relies upon the player’s initiative to head out into the wilderness and start hacking up baddies. Movement and controls in the game are thankfully simple, though a few things would have been better clarified in a tutorial. This forces you to learn much of the game through raw experience, which some would argue is more effective, anyway. Picking on foes of an inferior level is your best bet for collecting money early in the game. Zombies, dark elves, skeleton warriors – they’re all just mobile purses for you to rip apart. Bullying enough of these baddies also results in a boost to your reputation, and – assuming you are successful in your ventures – more folks will want to join your town. Attracting visitors through your success is crucial to progress, as they help with anything from production of food to creating slick battle equipment for you and your followers. If circumstances demand it (or if you’ve had a particularly bad day), you may conscript villagers and force them to fight for you in battle.

Gameplay
Players use their weapons in every possible way as they hack and slash their way through hordes of enemies. In conjunction with this blading; however, players must use their magic ability via time in order to defeat their ancient enemies and conquer their quest.

Emergence is the first episode of the new SiN series. You play as Colonel John R. Blade, founder and top operative of HardCORPS, a private security firm operating in the city of Freeport sometime in the near future. All plot is conveyed in-game via NPCs and radio messages, rather than by cutscenes. Weapon variety for the player is limited to a pistol, shotgun, and assault rifle, each with a secondary fire mode, and incendiary grenades. Each weapon can also be aimed, which gives the player better accuracy at the expense of movement speed.

Fight as British, Americans, Russians or Germans through more than 30 challenging missions across Europe in this tactical 3D isometric Real Time Strategy game. Although it might sound like a typical World War II RTS, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II has some features that makes it unique. The most distinct feature is Direct Control that allows you to precisely command your units and vehicles (such as a tank or a jeep), with the arrow keys to move and mouse to aim with. This gives the the feel of an old time arcade action game. Note that this is not like other action- strategy games (i.e. Battlezone) that changes the perspective to an first person view, but keeps the isometric view throughout the game. Other features that sets it apart from the RTS norm is the advanced physics engine that allows everything to be destroyed and a hit system where for example tanks take more damage from the rear than from the front (no energy bars like in other RTS games). This gives the game additional depth to the tactical mechanics of the game. Things like these in combination with the openness of each map makes sure that there is always several ways to complete each mission. The game also features an inventory system similar to RPGs, with a drag and drop interface. This allows you to pick up equipment from fallen enemy soldiers.

The Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 is a 3rd person adventure game, more similar in perspective to Soul Reaver than the first Blood Omen game. The player controls from behind Kain's shoulder and can move him in different directions, attack, jump, use "dark gifts" and grab on to ledges. Kain's life energy steadily depletes and must be replenished constantly by drinking blood. Blood is found by consuming any living creature nearby, often requiring defeating an enemy through combat first. As Kain consumes blood, his meter is filled up. Once full, Kain gains additional health. Kain also learns new dark gifts throughout the game, by defeating boss creatures. Some gifts include: the ability to blend into mist, fire projectiles, use projectile telekinesis or make a great horizontal leap. Many of these abilities can be used to perform "stealth kills" which will instantly defeat a foe. Kain will fight using his bare hands, or by picking up daggers, swords, axes and other weapons. These weapons
all attack differently, eventually breaking, and can also be thrown at enemies from afar.

World War II Panzer Claws is a real-time strategy game that depicts the struggles in war torn Europe between 1941 and 1944. Set in a real time World War II scenario, the player takes control of a variety of armored and mechanical units, ground troops and air support units in epic battles of skill and nerve. The game spans the German attack on the Soviet Union through to other important
battles on the Eastern Front, operations in France and Italy to the German offensive in the Ardennes. You can play as German, Soviet or Allied troops in both the single player campaign mode and multiplayer modes. The game is the first to use Reality Pump’s newly developed ‘Earth-3’ engine, which enables stunning graphics and spectacular levels of detail.
