A true metal anthem about Metal never dying. High Flyer is a slower heavy track with a riff similar to some we have heard on records like Terror. It gets a bit thrashy as well. If you love the new Loudness, this album will blow you away

Akira's guitar sounds heavy, with some nice variety in the mixes and the solos are fantastic. Nasty guitar. Black and White speeds things up again and is a real headbanger. Whatsoever is a weird ballad of sorts but has a really cool mid section with strange guitar and bass lines going back and forth. Cool stuff. Great songs!

This is a superb album that will probably surprise many fans; this is a good album to start with if you’ve never heard Loudness. You won’t be disappointed with this album

Great album and even better TAB book. This was edited by John Petrucci, so what's in this book is what he plays and how he plays it. This album has less of the 64-th note solos for 20 pages, so there is a lot more us learning guitarists can play with. A definite plus.

This was the turning-the-clock-around album for Dream Theater. Mike Portnoy said that this album nearly killed Dream Theater because the record company wanted them to make a commercial album.

A must have for any DT fan that has some talent and ambition. This album is a bit more 'practical' for younger musicians wanting to learn a bit more on Petrucci's style and licks. The guitar parts are somewhat toned down and less 'showy' than those on previous DT albums, but the songs presented here are WELL worth the book.

Far Beyond Driven is the seventh album by heavy metal band Pantera. The album was released on March 15, 1994 through East West Records. It is considered one of the most extreme albums ever to debut at #1 in the US.

The album's original artwork (a drill bit impaling an anus) (seen below) was banned due to censorship laws so it was re-released with the now legendary skull impaled with a drill bit. Copies of the original version with the banned artwork are now quite rare and fetch high prices on online auction sites. Far Beyond Driven took Pantera's music to an even heavier and more extreme style than on previous releases; settling for a continuous, slow chugging, mid-tempo groove throughout the album. Much of the shift was due to Dimebag Darrell's more down-tuned and heavier sludgy playing style.

Anselmo's lyrics on the album were far more personal than on the previous albums. Songs such as 'Becoming' and '25 Years' appear to be about Philip Anselmo's early life. This was the first Pantera album with Darrell being called "Dimebag Darrell" and not "Diamond Darrell," although in Vulgar Video he is referred to as "Dimebag".

This was the first Megadeth album to feature Marty Friedman and Nick Menza. After Cacophony called it quits because of a lack of commercial success, Marty taught guitar for a brief period, and then took over the position of lead guitarist for Megadeth. Megadeth soon released Rust In Peace, which was a huge success, undoubtably because of the contribution that Marty made to the album. Marty together with new drummer Nick Menza instantly redefined Megadeth's sound.

Marty's innovative leads added a new dimention to the band, which was before mostly driven by Dave Mustaine's aggressive rhythm guitar. This new lineup spewed forth an incredible album featuring vast amounts of Marty's powerful lead work together with supercharged rhythms that were more agressive than ever. The musical content is incredibly high, and the technical playing is just as impressive. This album is widely recognized as an all time great, and definitely Megadeth's best thus far.

This book has music and tabs for every song by Metallica through the Black Album. It includes most of the rhythm riffs from those songs and in very few cases, a few solo bars. Advanced guitarists should look into the "Play it like it is" books because they contain entire songs, and not just 2-page rhythm examples

Hammett was invited to join Metallica following the dismissal of the band's original lead guitarist Dave Mustaine in 1983. This was prior to the release of Kill 'Em All. At the time Hammett was taking private guitar lessons from the now-famous Joe Satriani.

Hammett has written and contributed riffs for Metallica songs since the mid-1980s (particularly in the 1990s during the Load era). One of these riffs, used in "Enter Sandman", was written in a hotel room at 3:15 am, and became one of Metallica's most popular songs. It was the first track and first single on Metallica's self-titled "Black Album" and was ranked 399th on Rolling Stones list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

The bridge for "Creeping Death" was originally an Exodus riff that Hammett took with him to Metallica.

Led Zeppelin II is the second album released by Led Zeppelin in 1969. Here they further developed ideas established on their debut album, creating a work which became even more widely acclaimed and arguably more influential.

The finished tracks reflect the raw, evolving sound of the band and their innovations as live performers. It has been suggested that Led Zeppelin II largely writes the blueprint for 1970s hard rock. Blues-derived songs like "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker", "The Lemon Song" and "Bring It On Home" are now standards of the genre, where the guitar-based riff (rather than vocal chorus or verses) defines the song and provides the key hook. Such arrangements and emphasis were at the time atypical in popular music. As such, the album is generally considered to be very influential on the development of rock music, being an early forerunner of heavy metal, and inspiring a host of other rock bands including Van Halen and Guns N' Roses.

Led Zeppelin II also experimented with other musical styles and approaches, as on the alternately soft-and-loud "What Is and What Should Never Be" and "Ramble On" (which featured Page's acoustic guitar), or the pop-influenced ballad "Thank You". With its mysterious atmospherics, "Ramble On" helped develop hard rock's association with fantasy themes, which had partly derived from the psychedelic rock of two to three years before, but also from lyricist Robert Plant's personal interest in the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien. This direction would later culminate on Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album (and countless subsequent groups would later carry the influence to further extremes). Conversely, the instrumental "Moby Dick" features an extended drum solo by John Bonham, which would later be extended to a half-hour or more in live Led Zeppelin concert performances.

Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Alchemy" is an amazing album from start to finish. Being the first album that Yngwie himself has written and arranged everything on, he did a fabulous job. The album has heavy material pretty much all the way through. He left the commercial material off of this one.

Yngwie Malmsteen is arguably the most technically accomplished hard rock guitarist to emerge during the '80s. Combining a dazzling technique honed over years of obsessive practice with a love for such classical composers as Bach, Beethoven, and Paganini, Malmsteen's distinctively Baroque, gothic compositional style and lightning-fast arpeggiated solos rewrote the book on heavy metal guitar. His largely instrumental debut album, Rising Force, immediately upped the ante for aspiring hard rock guitarists and provided the major catalyst for the '80s guitar phenomenon known as "shredding," in which the music's main focus was on impossibly fast, demanding licks rather than songwriting.
