Memoirs Of Sherlock Holmes PDF | 1 Mb | SharingMatrix Product DescriptionThe Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes are overshadowed by the event with which they close—the meeting of the great detective and Moriarty, the Napoleon of Crime. Their struggle, seemingly to the death, was to leave many readers desolate at the loss of Holmes, but was also to lead to his immortality as a literary figure. However illogical as a detective story, The Final Problem has proved itself an unforgettable tale. |

Sherlock Holmes BBC Radio SeriesIn 1998 the British Broadcasting Corporation became the first production company ever to dramatise the entire canon of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories and novels. This unique undertaking began in 1989 with Holmes' and Watson's first adventure, A Study in Scarlet and ended with their most famous, The Hound of the Baskervilles. The success of the programmes led to two follow-up series of new stories, The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which were broadcast in 2002 and 2004. These new adventures star Clive Merrison and Andrew Sachs. The programmes were broadcast on the BBC's principal spoken-word radio station, Radio 4, and released on CD and cassette. The 100 all time Best Fonts since Guternberg As selected by their users and an international jury 100 Fonts | Open Type | 86 MBThe review of immeasurable qualities is tricky. How does one measure aesthetic quality, the benefit of an item, its value to humanity? How does one determine a list of the best fonts of all time? We tried to do this by using on objective and two subjective measurement patters weighted as follows: FontShop Sales Figures: 40% Historical Value/Meaning: 30% Aesthetic Qualities: 30% The evaluation consisted exclusively of licensed or ‘commercial’ fonts. Free fonts or operating system fonts were not considered, nor were fonts integral to standard software (i.e. Arial, Verdana, etc.). Font variations, which over the centuries have been individually interpreted by various Foundries, were uniquely evaluated as a class and the best variant was entered into the main judging process. |

#24: Music : WASP - The Headless Children (+TAB GUITARS) |

This album marks a complete change of sound for the band. The songs were longer, more complex, and featured lyrics about more than just driking & sex. Chris Holmes was never much of a lead guitarist, but on this disc even he steps up and delivers well. This album is heavy and dark (nicely broken up by "Forever Free," a great ballad). Was it the addition of Banali, who's clearly a stronger drummer that made the difference? Who can say, really? At the end of the day, this album took WASP to a new level. If you don't have this and you're any kind of WASP fan, do yourself a favor and pick this on up. Right off the bat, "The Heretic (The Lost Child)" kicks into high gear and sets the pace for the record. Track 2 is a rocking cover of the Who's "The Real Me," which received heavy rotation on MTv back in the day. The Headless Children is packed from beginning to end with interesting songs that make you wonder what happened to the simple rock songs these guys used to churn out. WASP was a band that always rode just under the crest of the Glam Metal wave of the late 1980s. They were too antisocial to gain much radio play and too heavy for many Glam fans. The hairspray, makeup and songs about girls alienated many other metal fans. However, WASP made too much noise to be ignored. |

The original lineup of W.A.S.P. was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1982 by Blackie Lawless, Rik Fox, Randy Piper and Tony Richards. The band became notorious for its raunchy and, at times, shocking live shows. Lawless was known to tie semi-naked models to a torture rack, and to also hurl raw meat into the audience. The band's debut single, entitled Animal (**** Like a Beast), and its cover were equally controversial. The first lineup didn't last for long, as Rik Fox was let go and went onto join the band Steeler with (then unknown) vocalist Ron Keel and guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. He was replaced by Don Costa. Shortly afterwards, Don Costa also left the band and his position on the bass was filled by Lawless. At the same time, guitarist Chris Holmes joined the band. W.A.S.P. signed to Capitol Records for their debut album, W.A.S.P., released on August 17, 1984. The debut was at one time planned for release with the title "Winged Assassins". The band's first single Animal (**** Like a Beast) was omitted from the album in the United States to prevent it from being banned from major chain stores. |

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born December 3, 1948) is the lead vocalist of the pioneering English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, a multi-platinum, award-winning successful solo artist and the star of the reality show, The Osbournes. Considered by many to be the "Godfather of Heavy Metal, he has enjoyed a career that has now spanned four decades. He was born in Aston, Birmingham, England and spent most of his early life there. Osbourne reportedly suffered from learning difficulties (claiming to be dyslexic ), however he did like music and took part in school plays. He left school at 15 and was then employed as a construction site labourer, He also spent a few weeks in Winson Green Prison, when he was unable to pay a fine after being found guilty of Breaking and Entering a clothes shop. Osbourne would later form a band with classmate Tony Iommi after he auditioned for a lead singer. To distinguish themselves from the norm, Iommi and his partners decided to play a heavy blues-inspired style of music laced with gloomy lyrics. One day during rehearsals, the band noticed people queuing up outside a cinema where a horror film was being shown, and bassist Geezer Butler observed how curious it is that people like to be frightened. The film these fellows were waiting to see was the Mario Bava-directed Black Sabbath. After reading an occult book that Osbourne had let Butler borrow, Butler had a dream of a dark figure at the end of his bed. Afterwards, Butler wrote the lyrics to "Black Sabbath", one of their first songs, in a darker vein. It was the prototype of the songs that became their main style later in their career |
