C. F. W. Higham “Encyclopedia of Ancient Asian Civilizations" Facts on File | 2004-05 | ISBN: 0816046409 | 416 pages | PDF | 5,1 MB Beginning with an informative introduction that gives an overview of the major stands of Asian civilization from 5,000 B.C.E. to 1,100 C.E., this alphabetically arranged encyclopedia presents clear information on a wide variety of archaeological sites, significant persons, dynasties, and religious and other cultural practices. More than 900 articles cover Central and East Asia, the Southeastern Asian islands, the Indian subcontinent, and Japan and Korea. The entries are written clearly, though without much verve, and include cross-references in small capitals within the body. Entries for people begin with an italicized summary of the person's status and importance. Some articles include see also references at the end, with longer treatments generally terminating with lists of sources (usually two to six) for further reading. Weighting on the entries is appropriate, with shorter treatments for less significant people, places, or concepts (e.g., Chongdi, a Han emperor who ruled briefly) and more in-depth coverage for topics like Buddhism or Harappa (a great city of the Indus Valley Civilization). |

Dragonball Evolution R5 CrYs18 (Only 299 MB) Dragonball Evolution is a 2009 American live-action film adaptation of the Japanese Dragon Ball media franchise produced by 20th Century Fox. The story centers around the adventures of the lead character, Goku, around his 18th birthday. The film began development in 2002, and is directed by James Wong and produced by Stephen Chow. It was released in Japan and several other Asian nations on March 13, 2009, and was in the United States on April 10, 2009.
Two thousand years ago, the evil Namekian warlord Piccolo (James Marsters) descended upon the Earth during a solar eclipse and attempted to destroy the world with the aid of his disciple, Ōzaru. A group of monks conjured the Mafuba — a powerful but life-threatening enchantment designed to bind those caught within it — and used it to imprison Piccolo. Ōzaru disappears, and the Earth gradually recovers. In the present day, Piccolo escapes his confinement and as another solar eclipse approaches, he begins searching for the legendary Dragonballs in order to make a wish to the magical dragon Shen Long for the power to destroy the Earth. |

#19: Games : Secret Weapons Over Normandy |

Lawrence Holland is the highly praised creator of the Star Wars flying games X-Wing and Tie Fighter, in addition to the World War II-based Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (SWOL). Holland again uses his creative genius to devise another great-playing flight title to add to both his and LucasArts’ game hangar with the release of Secret Weapons over Normandy (SWON), the follow-up to SWOL. The campaign mode of SWON has you, pilot James Chase, joining the ranks of a secret military flying squadron fighting the evil empire of Adolph Hitler and his Third Reich Nazi war machine and the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II. You can pilot over 20 authentic WWII flying crafts from both the Allied and Axis powers that helped shape the history of the 20th Century. SWON also takes you to real sky and sea theaters of battle that were actually fought. You really do get drawn into the well-crafted story of the campaign mode, too. As the newest recruit to the secret Allied squadron, you are joined by members of each of the Allied nation’s air forces in your battles: American, British, and Russian. SWON doesn’t resort to the old unrealistic “everybody speaks English” tactic that many World War II-based movies and games fall back on. Instead, when the Japanese pilots are talking in both the level introductory cut-scenes and the actual missions, you hear Japanese (with subtitles) and the same goes for the German pilots and your Russian allies also. |

Extreme is a US Rock band that achieved popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some of Extreme's influences, Queen and Van Halen (the latter of which Gary Cherone would eventually join and later leave), are readily apparent from their music's multi-part vocal harmonies and electric guitar tone and instrumental techniques. The band lends the listener a sound that blends the genre of glam metal with the shredding guitar work of thrash metal. Being asked about their style, Extreme categorized their music as 'Funky Metal'. Extreme has released four studio albums, two EPs (in Japan) and two compilations since its formation. The band was one of the most successful of those from the early 1990s, selling over 10 million albums worldwide. Extreme rose to fame with its 1990 release Pornograffitti, which peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200. Saudades de Rock (which roughly translates from Portuguese as "Nostalgic Yearning for Rock") is Extreme's fifth studio album that was released on August 4, 2008. It is the band's first album of new material since 1995's Waiting for the Punchline, and also their first release with new drummer Kevin Figueiredo. |

#23: Music : Jet Li's Fearless [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] (2006) |

Contemplative and elegiac, this score for Jet Li's martial-arts movie is light years away from your usual Hollywood action music--even when the pace picks up, it remains evocative and elegant, with a tinge of underlying melancholy. For this we have to thank Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi (formerly of the rock band EX), who also gave us marvelous scores for Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love and Zhang Yimou's House of Flying Daggers. Here he relies on roiling percussion, ethereal choirs, and Japanese and Chinese flutes to suggest both the 19th-century setting of the film and an end-of-an-era mood. Look for "Habanera" from Carmen buried toward the end, performed by Japanese soprano Michiko Hayashi and--befitting such a relatively pared-down album--a lone piano. Genre: Soundtrack Release Date: September 5, 2006 Composer: Shigeru Umebayashi Released By: Lakeshore Records Format: MP3 Bitrate: 320 KBPS Number Of Tracks: 36 Time: 1:06:52 Size: 160 MB |
