Love Aaj Kal (Hindi: लव आज कल, English translation: Love Now & Then, not to be confused with "Love Today & Yesterday or "Love these days") is a Bollywood film starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles with Rahul Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Giselle Monteiro in supporting roles. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan. The film portrays the feeling of pure love which never changes over time (Love "now" and "then"), although the perspective of realizing one's soulmate has changed over time.

Love Aaj Kal is a romantic comedy movie about a modern-day London based couple Jai (Saif) and Meera (Deepika). Life pulls them in different directions, which is a true test of commitment and they decide to be practical. They are very happy together but do not believe in tying each other down.

Saif Ali Khan's Love Aaj Kal, which is all set to release on July 31, seems to have run into troubled waters with the Sikh community. But it looks like that the actor is leaving no stone unturned, so he along with his production team held a special screening of the film for members of the Sikh community.The Sikh community had raised objections to Saif's trimmed beard in the film plus a few scenes set in the Gurudwara.
"We decided to have this special screening for them because we feel that they are representatives of a larger community. We didn't want to offend anybody," said Imtiaz Ali, Director.Charanjeet Sapra, President,Cultural and Heritage Board says people had objections to the length of Saif's beard and other romantic scenes shot in the Gurudwara. He said they would inform the filmmakers know by Friday over the issue.But in spite of that Saif and his team seem to be optimistic. "I think they liked the film. They will let us know by Friday," said Saif. Seems like the cast and crew of Love Aaj Kal will have to take one Friday at a time at this rate.
