ARTAS SAM v6.0.46 Multi-user Professional | 3.02 MBSAM (Synthesis and Analysis of Mechanisms) is an interactive PC-software package for the design, analysis (motion and force) and optimization of arbitrary planar mechanisms. Mechanisms can either be generated via the design wizards or they can be assembled from basic components including beams, sliders, gears, belts, springs, dampers and friction elements. SAM integrates pre-processing, numerical analysis and post processing, such as animation and xy-plots, in an easy to-use environment offering pull-down menus, mouse support and help facilities. The mathematical foundation of the analysis kernel, which is inspired by the well-known finite element approach, offers a large number of features and overcomes many of the problems of traditional mechanism programs. Open loop, closed loop, multiple loop and even complex planetary mechanisms can equally well be analyzed due to the finite element formulation. Even the most complex mechanisms, including planetary gear trains, can be modeled within minutes. |

Every futures, options, and stock markets trader operates under a set of highly suspect rules and assumptions. Are you risking your career on yours? Exceptionally clear and easy to use, The Mathematics of Money Management substitutes precise mathematical modeling for the subjective decision-making processes many traders and serious investors depend on. Step-by-step, it unveils powerful strategies for creating and using key money management formulas—based on the rules of probability and modern portfolio theory—that maximizes the potential gains for the level of risk you are assuming. With them, you’ll determine the payoffs and consequences of any potential trading decision and obtain the highest potential growth for your specified level of risk. You’ll quickly decide: What markets to trade in and at what quantities When to add or subtract funds from an account How to reinvest trading profits for maximum yield The Mathematics of Money Management provides the missing element in modern portfolio theory that weds optimal f to the optimal portfolio. |

#20: E-Books : Fundamental Formulas of Physics, Vol. 1, 2 |

| |
Fundamental Formulas of Physics, Vol. 1, 2 407 pages | Mar 4, 1960 | PDF | 21.4 MB + 25.42 MB | RSWell written descriptions; and well thought-out examples are given when needed. I have both volumes and they have been a great resource to me while developing Modelling Software. Multiple Author’s contributions have resulted in a little overlapping, but there was one benefit to this - seeing adapted forms of the same formula. I also like the book: “The Cambridge Handbook of Physics Formulas (230 pages)” which is 40 years newer. But have found myself referring this two-volume-set the most recently (totaling 741 pages) because: more fields & cross-fields are covered, great examples, smaller hand-held size, jammed packed prerequisite math formulas & data (153 pages) in first four chapters including: Pre/Post Calculus, Fourier Series, Green Function, Vectors, Tensors, etc. (good brush up - been out of college few years) Also locating a particular formula is quick because of the Large Detailed Split-page Contents at beginning of both volumes (20 pages each) and also helpful - chapter names are printed on both covers. |

#22: E-Books : An Introduction to the Bond Markets by Patrick J. Brown |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 28 January 2009 | Views: 654 |
| |
This book gives an introduction to the bond markets for practitioners and new entrants who need to understand what they are, how they work and how they can be used, but do not want to be intimidated by mathematical formulae. By the end of the book readers will be able to decide whether to invest in the bond market. The mathematical formulae will be relegated to the appendices and supplemented by a companion website which allows users to enter their own bond market investments, to simulate anticipated events and see the results. * Patrick Brown is well-known as Chairman of the European Bond commission (recently retired) * The only bond book that does not rely heavily on mathematical formulae Patrick Brown's book represents a clear, concise introduction to the bond market by an expert in the field. Throughout the book, the author introduces aspects of the bond market to the novice in a non- mathematical and very accessible way. Brown brings a wealth of knowledge to the topic, and this shows in the numerous interesting details that even experienced bond professionals may not be familiar with. This book will appeal to new recruits in an investment bank, business students or anyone curious about the bond market and would be a useful reference book to anyone working in the bond market |

Risk has two sides: underestimating it harms the investor, while overestimating it prevents the implementation of bold business projects. This book explains, from the point of view of the practitioner, the analysis of investment risk - a proper account of adequate risk management strategies - and offers an objective and readable account of the most common investment risk management procedures. It will not be highly mathematical, although mathematical formulae and technical graphs will be used where necessary, and will not rely on excessive technical jargon. A useful guide covering many real-life case-studies where substantial financial loses occurred. Highlights how best practice risk management can assist in spotting early warning signs. #28: E-Books : Long/Short Market Dynamics by Clive M. Corcoran |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 2 December 2008 | Views: 674 |
| |
Market forces in the 21st century have become more titanic, diverse, subtle and multi-faceted than ever. Clive Corcoran deftly explains the reasons behind the paradigm shift and offers an abundance of practical ways to combat and profit from it. There's no need to fear that it's not you father's market anymore when you're armed with this kind of information." Corcoran's in-depth knowledge of financial markets underlies a talent to express technically advanced concepts in accessible, yet thorough terms. His book is very carefully researched and beautifully written. He has written an excellent book, backed up by solid research and informative examples. This is one of most illuminating works on trading techniques written in recent years. His incisive commentary of automated trading algorithms alone is worth the cost of the text. This is a piece of original work that you rarely see in financial books. This is a must read Hedge funds are now the largest volume players in the capital markets. They follow a wide assortment of strategies but their activities have replaced and overshadowed the traditional model of the long only portfolio manager. Many of the traditional technical indicators and commonly accepted trading strategies have become obsolete or ineffective. |

#29: E-Books : Options and Options Trading by Robert Ward |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 28 November 2008 | Views: 1296 |
| |
There is a difficult, complex way to learn options (one that requires a Ph.D. in math) and an easier, more basic way for those of us who don't consider ourselves math geniuses. This book is about learning options the easy way...Too many books on options trading make the mistake of assuming that readers can already tell a delta from a sigma summation. Options and Options Trading breaks the code that envelops the often-foreign language of options, providing an accessible introduction into how the options market works as it explains the rules that traders must understand if they hope to take part in this high-leverage, high-profit game. Author Robert Ward's goal is simple--to demystify the tangled world of options trading without leaving readers too confused and frustrated to continue. The book to read before continuing on to the more detailed, and much higher-level, existing library of options trading guides. Options and Options Trading features: * End-of-chapter material including "Things to Think About" and "Key Concepts" * Simplified explanations of complex mathematical equations * Step-by-step rationales to help readers move from basic to complex |
