When I first approached this movie, I thought from most of the reviews and comment that it was going to be horrible. The truth was that the script and dialog was absolutely horrible. I felt like I was being dragged through a bunch of kindergarten jokes. The story was unbelievable and either not satirical enough or too satirical. Most of the comedy was not like anything I had seen before, like Napoleon Dynamite meets The Office. It's like the writer was waiting for me to laugh, but I never did.
On the rare occasions that I did laugh, it was caused by Seann William Scott's acting or Danny Leiner amazing way of saving this film. Perfect timing on some of the sequences and just the right angles resulted in a some what funnier film than that would have just been the script. Seann William Scott's awkward and unusual play at Gary makes for an interesting look, yet sometimes I wondered if even Scott knew what Gary was going to do next.

Overall, I enjoyed this film besides the overkill of homophobia humor. I thought it was a new take on Tennis, and made me laugh at certain points. It was great to see Danny Leiner direct a comedy that didn't include two guys and a car. I don't recommend it, unless you have some free time or are a fan of Seann William Scott, but it wasn't the worst of them all.

Ted finds a shirt he has not worn in forever, and finds that he likes it, even though before that day he had never considered wearing it. He meets everyone else down at the bar, and finds that he also suddenly likes Bourbon, which he had hated before. He decides that maybe he should start considering girls he has previously dated; Barney objects to this idea, saying that the only reason to date a girl who one has previously dated is if she received breast implants. Ted ignores Barney's advice and decides to re-date Natalie.

Shaolin Soccer tells the story of Sing (Stephen Chow), a master of Shaolinquan Kung Fu whose goal in life is to let the world know about the benefits of the ancient art. He experiments with various methods to mainstream the art, including comedic song and dance routines, all of which bear no positive results. He meets an old man called Fung (Ng Man Tat), who was a soccer star in his days until his teammate Hung, now a rich businessman, paid him to shave his points. After missing the game-winning penalty kick, Fung's “golden leg” was broken by angry baseball bat-wielding fans (hired by Hung) and had not been able to play ever since. Sing tries to explain his desire to promote the modern uses of kung fu. Fung is initially unconvinced with Sing's idea and brushes off Sing's pleas. The latter kicks a beer can thrown at him by Fung, which vanishes into the sky, but the old man remains adamant. Later, Fung sees a huge crack in a wall some miles away, only to discover that it was caused by the very same tin can which Sing kicked earlier and is astounded. He also witnesses a fight between Sing and a group of local thugs who often ridicule the Shaolin master. After Sing humbles the rogues in a one-sided fight, nearly destroying a brick wall just by kicking a soccer ball, Fung is hit with an idea and asks if Sing could use kung fu to play soccer. Sing likes the idea and agrees for Fung to become his coach.

The film tells the story of the origins of Lucian (Michael Sheen), who was the first werewolf able to take human form - to be called Lycans. Viktor (Bill Nighy), the ruthless elder of the vampires, took him home after killing his werewolf mother in a raid. Viktor envisions a race of werewolf slaves for his vampire clan that, conceivably, could keep guard during the daytime hours and toil for the vampires. As Lucian grows up at Viktor's home, his young daughter, Sonja (Rhona Mitra), develops an attraction to the young Lycan, and Lucian becomes fond of Sonja as well.

It is revealed that Viktor has a tacit relationship with the human population of the area, whereupon he agreed to protect them from the wild werewolves that roam the countryside in exchange for a tithe. As a collection of human nobles come to meet with the vampire council for protection from the werewolves in exchange for this aforementioned tithe, Sonja goes out to guard them. Lucian hears the Lycans near Sonja and steals a horse and sword from a nearby Death Dealer. Wild werewolves proceed to attack and kill the nobles, causing Lucian to engage in a battle with them. When Lucian takes off his collar and changes into a Lycan in order to protect himself, the wild werewolves back down to his howl and leave before Lucian is shot down by Viktor's men. Viktor, despite grudgingly acknowledging that Lucian saved his daughter, notes that Lucian still transgressed the laws of the coven by taking off the collar that kept him in check (by preventing him from changing into a Lycan) and feels betrayed by what he thinks of as his favorite pet. Subsequently, he locks Lucian away after having him whipped thirty times with a three pronged chain-bladed whip.
