The Inner Solar System: The Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars (An Explorer's Guide to the Universe)224 pages | Rosen Education Service (December 20, 2009) | ISBN: 1615300120 | PDF | 7.8 MB Ancient people around the globe once believed the Moon, Sun, planets, and stars were gods and goddesses, demons and angels revolving around Earth, the centre of their universe. Little did they know that Earth is a mere speck in a vast universe. It took many centuries for people to realize that Earth isn’t even the centre of our solar system. It is, however, one of the components of what’s known as the inner solar system— comprised of the Sun, four terrestrial planets, and the moons that orbit them—which is examined thoroughly in this book. |

In DARKEST OF DAYS , you’™ll get to experience some of the most varied gameplay ever released in one title. Things will never get stale as you travel to distant times and fight alongside people from that time period. Fighting in Antietam (the bloo diest day of the American Civil War) feels much different than fighting on the side of the Russians at Tannenberg (where the Russians withstood 140,000 casualties in WWI). Fight in FIVE different Time Periods - Whether its in Pompeii, Antietam, WWI, WWII, or Little Big Horn you will fight with real weapons from the time period. You will battle against enemies that fight in different ways, all reflective of how fighting was done at the time. Using a combination of both futuristic and historical weapons, players will be immersed in a world where in one instant they will be fighting against the Germans in the First World War and the next find themselves battling at Antietam in the American Civil War. A variety of combat missions, such as stealth, artillery assaults, and sniper attacks will keep players on their toes through dozens of levels spread out over five historical time periods – all while discovering the secrets of the mysterious organization for which they have been working. Fighting on one side of the action, then sometimes coming back to fix mistakes on the opposing side gives the player a chance to experience conflicts from both sides. The Big Bang Theory S01E02 - The Big Bran Hypothesis (ENG 2007) One of my favourite comedy series Two brilliant ("a combined IQ of 360") young physicists, Leonard and Sheldon, are the kind of "beautiful minds" that understand how the universe works. But their PhDs don't help them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited, newly single beauty named Penny moves in next door. When Leonard and Sheldon meet Penny, Leonard is immediately interested in her (saying "our babies will be smart and beautiful"), but Sheldon feels his friend is chasing a dream he'll never catch (adding "not to mention imaginary"). Sheldon is quite content to spend his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow geeky Caltech geniuses, Wolowitz (a wannabe la dies man) and Koothrappali (who is so shy he cannot speak to beautiful women). However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love. Leonard is so infatuated with Penny that after letting her use their shower (hers was broken) he agrees to try to retrieve her TV from her ex-boyfriend, Kurt. Leonard's efforts fail when he and Sheldon, who unwillingly accompanied him, are both depantsed and left empty handed. Feeling bad, Penny offers to buy them and their friends dinner. |

#19: Games : Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix [PC Game] |

Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix [PC Game] | 1.2 GB Soldier of Fortune II is actually one of the few games in which skipping the plot actually makes the gameplay portions clearer. Both the training and the early cutscenes imply that you're going to need to resort to stealth to successfully navigate the first mission. If you skip the plot, you'll miss this part and probably just go in shooting, which is actually the only practical way to approach the game. It appears that the developers planned to incorporate some sneaking elements into Soldier of Fortune II and then somewhere along the line gave up--but then never managed to completely remove the essentially nonfunctioning stealth features. Generally, you can sneak up on the first enemy in a level. Once you've successfully snuck up on him, you can decide to never move again and stay hidden forever--or you can decide to kill him, at which point it's time to stop sneaking and start shooting. A completely superfluous prone stance, an unnecessary option for picking up dead bo dies, and the enemies' ability to see you even if you're lying in tall grass all contribute to the half-finished feeling of the stealth mechanic. |

#21: E-Books : Physics and Chemistry of Micro-Nanotribology, by Jianbin Luo |

Physics and Chemistry of Micro-Nanotribology, by Jianbin Luo ASTM International | January 2008 | English | ISBN: 0803170068 | PDF | 290 Pages | 7,28 Mb Description : The roots of micro/nanotribology can be found deep in conventional concepts of tribology. The recognition in the last century of elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication EHL as the principal mode of fluid-film lubrication in many machine components enabled reliable design procedures to be developed for both highly stressed and low elastic modulus machine elements. Towards the end of the last century submicron film thicknesses were recognized in many EHL applications. It is now being asked how EHL concepts can contribute to understanding the behavior of even thinner lubricating films. The answer is to be found in the subject widely known as micro/nanotribology. As early as 1929 Tomlinson considered the origin of friction and the mechanism of energy dissipation in terms of an independent oscillator model. This import ant approach provided the foundation for many present stu dies of atomic scale friction. The rapid development of micro/nanotribology in recent decades is certainly a significant and fascinating aspect of modern tribology. New scientific instruments, impressive modeling, and computer simulations have contributed to the current fascination with nanotechnology. A remarkable indication of these developments is evident in the boom of publications. Nevertheless, the knowledge and understanding of micro/nanotribology remains incomplete, although several books related to the subject have now been published. The interdisciplinary nature of tribology persists in stu dies of microscopic scale tribology. Individual investigators contribute to specific aspects of the field as they help to develop a general picture of the new field of micro/nanotribology, thus adding additional bricks to the house of truth. The present book is written by authors whose backgrounds are mainly in mechan ical engineering. They present individual contributions to the development of microscopic tribology, with significant effort being made to form a bridge between fundamental stu dies and applications. |

Though it's far less gory than its peers, it has frightening moments and a creepy mood throughout. John Cusack (IDENTITY) plays Mike Enslin, a gifted writer who has turned his talents to paranormal travel books. His stays in haunted hotels never shake him, but he's intrigued by New York's Dolphin Hotel. Room 1408 has been the site of dozens of deaths, and this is a selling point for the skeptic in Mike. Despite the warnings of the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson, BLACK SNAKE MOAN), Mike resolves to stay in the haunted room. No one has lasted more than an hour in 1408, and Mike has his work cut out for him. Though Cusack got his acting pedigree in come dies, he proves he's able to adeptly carry a horror film. He's in practically every frame of the film, often alone, and he's great at making the audience share in his fear. This is the second English-language film from director Mikael Hafstrom (DERAILED), and he does a good job of establishing tension. A lot of the credit is due to the film's sound crew, whose detailed work goes far in giving 1408 its unsettling feeling. |

College come dies haven’t changed much since the eighties, and Accepted isn’t interested in being an innovator. It’s the same story over and over again. A group of lovable losers set up the perfect college experience only to have it foiled by good looking frat boys or an uptight college dean. The losers fight back with all the wacky antics they can muster and everything is wrapped up in 90 minutes with an impassioned speech from the lead loser about the importance of their slacker dream. Can’t we all just get along? We get it. Good looking people hate ugly people. It’s not enough that good looking people are statistically more likely to get better jobs, find better mates, and make more money than the rest of us. Apparently they have to hate us as well. Since they seem to get all the breaks in life while we get absolutely nothing maybe it’s us, the uglies of the world, who should be pretty ****ed off. |

The Teaching Company - Consciousness and its Implications [Video Training] | 2,05 GBTaught by Daniel N. Robinson | Philosophy Faculty, Oxford University | Distinguished Professor, Emeritus Georgetown University | Ph.D., City University of New York12 lectures, 30 minutes/lecture | AVI | 128 kbps | 576 x 416 | $199.95 It's as essential to human existence as water is to a fish, and yet every night we surrender it gratefully. As human beings, we recognize that we have it, but we can never be sure anyone else does. It has been the subject of debate for philosophers and scientists for millennia, but we've yet to pin down or even understand its true essence and purpose. It's consciousness, and if you think you grasp the nuances of this unique mental state, then take a moment to consider ... the zombie. Most of us are familiar with this wretched star of B-grade horror films: a once-human creature dead but not truly dead. In its state of suspended life, it performs many of the tasks we do every day. It can move, it can carry things, it finds its way around. In some movies, it even seems motivated by a purpose—the inexorable quest for living flesh. |
