Chemtoolbox v 1.0.1ChemToolBox, the swiss army knife of the lab worker, is a freeware which contains numerous scientific data very useful in a laboratory. Thanks to its own database, ChemToolBox will easily substitute the time-consuming use of scientific books (such as Handbooks) or online databases. It can provide help in various fields such as; organic chemistry (properties of solvents, miscibility and polarity, cooling mixtures). Solution chemistry (acid/base and RedOx couples, colored indicators, complexes, salts, fluorochroms). Spectroscopy (1H and 13C NMR) or polymer chemistry); bio chemistry (amino acids, nitrogen bases, carbohydrates, fatty acids, SDS-PAGE), etc. ChemToolBox also has a full periodic table of elements (with the picture of all elements), a units conversion and calculations module, as well as numerous scientific constants with SI units and derivatives. All these data can be exported in HTML. |

Vogel's Textbook of Practical Organic ChemistryAre you a student of Chemistry? Or you like Chemistry? Here is a book You are waiting For.... the best selling Practical Organic Chemistry Textbook is now in Your desktop! Enjoy! The textbook is intended to meet the requirements of the student of chemistry throughout the whole of his training.Considerable detail is given in those sections of particular interest to the elementary student; in the author's openion it is the duty of a writer of a practical textbook to lay a secure foundation of sound experimental technique for the beginner. The subject matter of the book is sufficiently comprehensive to permit the teacher to cover any reasonable course of instruction. It will be observed that the scale of the preparations varies considerably; the instructor can easily adapt the preparation to a smaller scale when such a step is necessary from considerations of cost and time or for other reasons. |

Wiley-Interscience | ISBN:0471389293 | English | 2002 | RAR | 2.52 MB Polymer Solutions: An Introduction to Physical Properties offers a fresh, inclusive approach to teaching the fundamentals of physical polymer science. Students, instructors, and professionals in polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, engineering, materials, and textiles will find Iwao Teraoka’s text at once accessible and highly detailed in its treatment of the properties of polymers in the solution phase. Teraoka’s purpose in writing Polymer Solutions is twofold: to familiarize the advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate student with basic concepts, theories, models, and experimental techniques for polymer solutions; and to provide a reference for researchers working in the area of polymer solutions as well as those in charge of chromatographic characterization of polymers. The author’s incorporation of recent advances in the instrumentation of size-exclusion chromatography, the method by which polymers are analyzed, renders the text particularly topical. Subjects discussed include: * Real, ideal, Gaussian, semirigid, and branched polymer chains * Polymer solutions and thermodynamics * Static light scattering of a polymer solution * Dynamic light scattering and diffusion of polymers * Dynamics of dilute and semidilute polymer solutions |

Elsevier Science | 2007-12-19 | ISBN: 0444527400 | 364 pages | PDF | 13.7 MB The importance of metals in biology, the environment and medicine has become increasingly evident over the last twenty five years. The study of the multiple roles of metal ions in biological systems, the rapidly expanding interface between in organic chemistry and biology constitutes the subject called Biological In organic Chemistry. The present text, written by a biochemist, with a long career experience in the field (particularly iron and copper) presents an introduction to this exciting and dynamic field. The book begins with introductory chapters, which together constitute an overview of the concepts, both chemical and biological, which are required to equip the reader for the detailed analysis which follows. Pathways of metal assimilation, storage and transport, as well as metal homeostasis are dealt with next. Thereafter, indivbidual chapters discuss the roles of sodium and potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron, copper, nickel and cobalt, manganese, and finlly molybdenum, vanadium, tungsten and chromium. The final three chapers provide a tantalising view of the roles of metals in brain function, biomineralization and a brief illustration of their importance in both medicine and the environment. Relaxed and agreeable writing style. The reader will not only fiind the book easy to read, the fascinating anecdotes and footnotes will give him pegs to hang important ideas on. |
