#9: Games : Hitman 4:Blood Money Ripped |
 |
| |
|
|
| |
Hitman: Blood Money is a stealth game developed by IO Interactive, published by Eidos Interactive and directed by Rasmus Højengaard. It is the fourth entry in the Hitman game series and was released on May 26 in Europe and on May 30 in the United States, 2006[1] for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Xbox 360 video game consoles, as well as PC. A Mobile Phone version under the same name was also released but with drastically different gameplay, graphics and overall style. [2] The story follows the life of professional hitman, Agent 47, as narrated in cutscenes by a former director of the FBI to a journalist who is interviewing him at his home. The wheelchair-bound ex-director recounts how his agency tracked 47 over a two-year period. The tone of Blood Money, in complete contrast with the dark and depressing mood of the previous game, is operatic and often veers into the larger-than-life, recalling elements of the 'world-traveler' grandeur of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. The game marks 47's arrival into the United States of America, and also differs from the original three in that several contracts are carried out in civilian areas, as opposed to the "c overt ops" settings of Codename 47, Silent Assassin, and Contracts missions. A sequel has recently been confirmed that it is in the works by Eidos Interactive. |

#14: E-Books : Hedge Fund Course by Stuart A. McCrary |
 |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 30 January 2009 | Views: 743 |
|
|
| |
A self-study course that reviews the technical and quantitative knowledge necessary to properly manage a hedge fund Today, traditional asset managers are looking to develop their own hedge funds as alternative offerings to their clients. Hedge Fund Course presents all the technical and quantitative knowledge necessary to run a leveraged investment company, and complements the less-technical information presented in the popular, How to Create and Manage a Hedge Fund. Filled with in-depth insight and expert advice, this book represents an executive-level educational program for money managers exploring the launch of alternative investment strategies or entering the hedge fund industry for the first time. This is a good book for someone that has very little prior knowledge about hedge funds, although it could have been written better. There are many misprints, yet the organization is good. The most rewarding parts of the book are the questions at the end of each chapter. The answers are provided at the end of the book and many of the Q & A's give you more insight into hedge funds than the actual body. This is a good book for someone with no knowledge of hedge funds but would be too simplistic for someone that has already has knowledge of them. |

#15: E-Books : Bad Money by Kevin Phillips (AUDIOBOOK) |
 |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 29 January 2009 | Views: 858 |
|
|
| |
"Bad Money" is about the insecurity of America's future given a debt-gorged financial sector, and vulnerability caused by expensive dependence on imported oil. The term refers not just to the depreciated dollar but also dangerous attitudes and flawed financial products. Kevin Phillips dedicates his latest insightful work of political and economic history to his grandson. It's a fitting tribute since, by the author's reckoning, the aforementioned young man might be well into his forties, and the U.S. deeply into its post-imperial senescence, by the time the mischief explained in the pages of Bad Money is fully digested by the earth's economic system. Instead of reflecting upon and compensating for the turn to an unprecedented expansion of finance capitalism that today supersedes manufacturing in this nation by at least six percent of GDP, Wall Street, our empire's "coliseum," chose instead to gamble upon the promulgation of an unregulated class of investments known as derivatives, the size and scope of which, particularly in terms of their capacity to hedge against risk, could only be guessed at. So much for the efficacy of market deregulation. Through his incisive and perceptive use of charts and tables, and,in his exceptionally clear narrative, Phillips makes the case that our g overnment lies to itself as well as us. Now, American have fifty trillion dollars in debt. |

There's a lot of news about how to bail out Lehman bro thers and the people who could possibly come to the rescue. It takes a lot of negotiating to make a deal of this magnitude and complexity to happen. In 1998 there was the bailout of the Long Term Capital Management hedge fund that performed risky arbitrage strategies with incredible leverage which eventually unwound. Dick Fuld, who is the current CEO of Lehman Bro thers was the person that got several investment banks toge ther in order to save the financial system. This title tells the story of long-term capital management where a group of elite investors believe they can beat the market and, like alchemists, create limitless wealth for themselves and their partners. In fact, they create a trillion-dollar hole in the international banking system. This is a must read book that gives incite into the complex process of bailing out a company to preserve the faith of the banking system. |
| |
The currency/foreign exchange (FX) market is by far the largest financial market in the world, with trading volumes surpassing $1.9 trillion a day. Although primarily dominated by a worldwide network of interbank traders, a new era of Internet-based communication technologies has recently allowed individual investors to gain direct access to this popular—and profitable—market. Written by Kathy Lien—chief strategist for the number one online currency broker in the world—Day Trading the Currency Market reveals a variety of technical and fundamental profit-making strategies for trading the currency/FX market, and provides a more detailed look at how this market actually works. Filled with in-depth insight and expert advice, Day Trading the Currency Market can show you how to enter this highly competitive arena with confidence and exit with profits. You will find some interesting and informative content in this book that can be useful in your educational path in Forex. But it is important to keep in mind that the book is written not by a trading entrepreneur but by a representative of one of the largest Forex brokers. To become a successful trader it is essential to recognize the vast difference in agenda between winning traders and brokers. The entire industry is driven by brokers and almost all material available on learning to trade is tied directly or indirectly to the broker industry whose agenda is to teach trading strategies that make the most money for THEM. Because the industry is unregulated, brokers are able to get away with many less than ethical practices. For instance, it is ironic that ano ther reader mentions how Kathy c overs the subject of the "carry trade" in detail. |

#27: E-Books : Dynamic Hedging by Nassim Nicholas Taleb |

Dynamic Hedging is the definitive source on derivatives risk. It provides a real-world methodology for managing portfolios containing any nonlinear security. It presents risks from the vantage point of the option market maker and arbitrage operator. The only book about derivatives risk written by an experienced trader with theoretical training, it remolds option theory to fit the practitioner's environment. As a larger share of market exposure cannot be properly captured by ma thematical models, noted option arbitrageur Nassim Taleb uniquely c overs both on-model and off-model derivatives risks. The author discusses including: * The generalized option, which encompasses all instruments with convex payoff, including a trader's potential bonus. * The techniques for trading exotic options, including binary, barrier, multiasset, and Asian options, as well as methods to take into account the wrinkles of actual, non-bellshaped distributions. * Market dynamics viewed from the practitioner's vantage point, including liquidity holes, portfolio insurance, squeezes, fat tails, volatility surface, GARCH, curve evolution, static option replication, correlation instability, Pareto-Levy, regime shifts, autocorrelation of price changes, and the severe flaws in the value at risk method. * New tools to detect risks, such as higher moment analysis, topography exposure, and nonparametric techniques. * The path dependence of all options hedged dynamically |

This is a very good place to investigate the reality of hedge funds, a comprehensive review c overing all aspects of hedge fund trading strategies. The real-life examples are particularly insightful for a beginner. A must-read for anyone involved with the hedge fund industry. An excellent introduction to the world of hedge funds takes the reader on a tour of the wide variety of strategies employed by these often mysterious but increasingly important investment institutions. Both students and professionals will value the nicely organized presentation that combines insightful discussions with many interesting facts and figures. Since the first hedge fund was launched in 1949 by Alfred Winslow Jones, the industry has grown impressively. In 2005 it reached the record size of 1.3 trillion dollars and 8000 hedge funds. Responsible for a big slice of the daily trading volumes of financial markets, hedge funds are among the top clients for brokers, given the level of trading fees they generate. One of the fastest growing investment sectors ever seen, hedge funds are considered by many to be exotic and inaccessible. This book provides an intensive learning experience, defining hedge funds, explaining hedge fund strategies while offering both qualitative and quantitative tools that investors need to access these types of funds. Topics not usually c overed in discussions of hedge funds are included, such as a theoretical discussion of each hedge fund strategy followed by trading examples provided by successful hedge fund managers. |

#29: E-Books : Forex Patterns & Probabilities by Ed Ponsi |

Without a doubt this book is far superior to anything else available on the subject of forex trading. "Forex Patterns and Probabilities" will become a trading classic not only for the tremendous amount of useful information it provides, but for the easy and fun way that the information is presented. The author, Ed Ponsi, presents very detailed strategies and then demonstrates them to the reader in a very concise manner. This is exactly what I needed and what most traders need - clear, unambiguous directions that explain in perfect detail exactly what the trader must do to make money trading. This book is a must read. It is packed with lots of information and filled with little distinctions that may seem minor on the surface, but can mean the difference between defeat and success. Just as important as the great trading techniques are the explanations why they make so much sense. This book cuts through the nonsense, and if you understand what Ed is saying then you realize that much of the o ther stuff that is out there is pretty useless. Maybe obsolete is a better word, now that this book is out there the bar has been raised and hopefully the quality of o ther books in this genre will pick up the pace. Read this book! |
