#8: E-Books : The Stock Trader - How I Make a Living Trading Stocks by Tony Oz |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 11 October 2009 | Views: 509 |
| |
"Put your money where your mouth is," came the challenge. So he did. Best selling author, Tony Oz, was challenged by Tim Bourquin and Jim Sugarman, founders of the International Online Trading Expo, to prove that his stock trading strategies work, that he could consistently take higher-than-average returns out of the market. To meet the challenge, Tony kept a trading diary for four weeks, documenting each and every trade he made. The simple story that unfolded turned out to be of much greater consequence than anyone could have foreseen, as Tony chronicled a first-hand description of one of the worst stock market crashes in recent memory. Tony was already into his four-week trading challenge at the peak of the Nasdaq market, just before the Crash of April 2000. Having no idea at the time that he was in the middle of a “correction” that would wipe out over two trillion dollars of stockholder's equity, Tony managed to earn respectable profits each week, and had only a few losing days. What is truly extraordinary is that all trades were on the Long side - not one trade was selling Short in a rapidly declining bear market. The results of the challenge are detailed in this exciting new book. Inside, Tony tells how he chose a broker, set up an account, and then drew a handsome income from the stock market each week, earning a 56% return on his capital in one month - more than most investors earn in a year. Over 100 round trip trades are recorded, charted and explained in a daily trading journal. Tony reveals what he was thinking and feeling, and he explains each trade's strategy, and his profits and losses - all the while walking the reader through his simple methodology and simple rules. At the end of each week, he ordered a check from his broker to “sweep” his account, and prevent compounding of profits. “After all,” Tony explains in the book, “Friday is payday." |

| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 17 July 2009 | Views: 865 |
| |
Fundamental trading is a method by which a trader focuses on company-specific events to determine which stock to buy and when to buy it. Trading on fundamentals is more closely associated with the buy-and-hold strategy of investing than with short-term trading. There are, however, specific instances in which trading on fundamentals can generate some nice profits in a short period. Trading on fundamentals may be risky in cases of euphoria and hype, but the astute trader is able to mitigate risk by making history his or her guide to short-term trading profits. In short, do your homework before jumping in. Voice by: Robert T. Kiyosaki, enjoy! |

#14: E-Books : The Day Trader's Survival Guide by Christopher A. Farrell |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 20 May 2009 | Views: 1371 |
| |
Though its title may invite novices, this guide to successful day trading is clearly designed for more experienced investors, since it explores complicated topics such as market makers, arbitrage traders and illiquid stocks. Farrell, argues that anyone comfortable enough to day trade should be able to reap extraordinary profits, provided they follow his techniques and avoid the "secret" pitfalls. He clearly believes that Wall Street often consciously hinders day traders. Rampant market manipulation is the order of the day, and it puts traders and investors at great disadvantage. Quoted markets that are not what they seem, hidden orders, head fakes, and other deceptions are described and illustrated in detail in this guide for traders with at least some experience. It's a kill-or-be-killed market, and Farrell shows how traders can side with the pros, game the spread, profit in illiquid issues, and find arbitrage opportunities. Market makers armed with the profit motive have the means and the opportunity to annihilate starry-eyed new arrivals daily. This book shows exactly how they do it--and what it takes to outmaneuver them. It's a must-read for any trader who has the will to survive |

#18: E-Books : The Day Trader's Bible by Richard D. Wyckoff |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 28 January 2009 | Views: 2403 |
| |
"Who Else Wants To Learn The Secrets of One Of The World's Greatest Traders?" (Without spending a dime!)
For those who have studied the work of this legendary figure, there is no doubt...Wyckoff was one of the greatest traders of all time. He was one of the first people to recognise that patterns in price movement often repeat themselves. In making that discovery, he practically invented technical analysis. In fact, he was analysing markets and price movement even before charts were in regular use. Because Wyckoff was the first to study price in a structured technical way, he was not blinkered by the countless theories, counter-theories, and technical babble that can seem so confusing to anyone learning to trade now. And so his teaching of analysis can be thought of as being the most pure. He cuts right to the point. |

| |
Jesse Livermore was a loner, an individualist-and the most successful stock trader who ever lived. Written shortly before his death in 1940, How to Trade Stocks offered traders their first account of that famously tight-lipped operator's trading system. Written in Livermore's inimitable, no-nonsense style, it interweaves fascinating autobiographical and historical details with step-by-step guidance on: * Reading market and stock behaviors * Analyzing leading sectors * Market timing * Money management * Emotional control In this new edition of that classic, trader and top Livermore expert Richard Smitten sheds new light on Jesse Livermore's philosophy and methods. Drawing on Livermore's private papers and interviews with his family, Smitten provides priceless insights into the Livermore trading formula, along with tips on how to combine it with contemporary charting techniques. #20: E-Books : Trade Like Jesse Livermore by Richard Smitten |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 24 January 2009 | Views: 1540 |
| |
The secret to Jesse Livermore’s legendary trading success. Although he began his career in 1892, Jesse Livermore is still considered to be one of the world’s greatest traders. In life and in death, Livermore has always been a controversial figure and his methods held up as a model for traders of all generations. Through 45 years of trading and market observation, Jesse Livermore determined that stocks and stock markets move in a series of repetitive patterns. He then developed a series of unique tools, using secret formulas and equations that allowed him to identify and interpret the movement in stocks with uncanny reliability. In Trade Like Jesse Livermore, author Richard Smitten explores the technical aspects of Livermore’s trading approach and shows readers how they can use these techniques to garner the success Livermore once did. Trade Like Jesse Livermore covers every aspect of Livermore’s trading methods, from discerning market behavior and trends such as top-down and tandem trading to paying close attention to indicators such as one-day reversals and spikes. With this book as their guide, readers can learn how to trade profitably without fear or greed. |

#21: E-Books : Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefèvre (A biography of Jesse Livermore) |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 24 January 2009 | Views: 1025 |
| |
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is the thinly disguised biography of Jesse Livermore, a remarkable character who first started speculating in New England bucket shops at the turn of the century. Livermore, who was banned from these shady operations because of his winning ways, soon moved to Wall Street where he made and lost his fortune several times over. What makes this book so valuable are the observations that Lefèvre records about investing, speculating, and the nature of the market itself. For example: " It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It always was my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight! It is no trick at all to be right on the market. You always find lots of early bulls in bull markets and early bears in bear markets. I've known many men who were right at exactly the right time, and began buying or selling stocks when prices were at the very level which should show the greatest profit. And their experience invariably matched mine--that is, they made no real money out of it. Men who can both be right and sit tight are uncommon." If you've ever spent weekends and nights puzzling over whether to buy, sell, or hold a position in whatever investment--be it stock, bonds, or pork bellies, you'll be glad that you read this book. Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is full of lessons that are as relevant today as they were in 1923 when the book was first published. Highly recommended. |

#22: E-Books : Trading for a Living by Alexander Elder |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 24 January 2009 | Views: 1362 |
| |
Soviet-born author and practicing psychiatrist Elder (director, Financial Trading Seminars, Inc.) shares his learning over the years as a professional trader and expert in technical analysis and his principle of understanding the three Ms (Mind, Method, Money), which will strengthen the discipline required to be successful in trading. He explores crucial factors in the markets that most experts overlook, including time, volume, and open interest, and describes little-known indicators to track them profitably. In addition, he covers many of the more technical approaches to investing in futures, such as factoring in the meaning from the Elliott Wave, oscillators, moving averages, Market Logic, and point-and-figure charting. His unique viewpoints in this overly saturated genre explain his particular view that most traders sabotage themselves, while offering tips for others to avoid doing the same. The narration by Richard Davidson soundly guides the listener through this highly specialized work that, although first published seven years ago, remains recommended for university libraries supporting a finance and business curriculum. |

Dr. Alexander Elder leads you into 16 trading rooms where you meet traders who open up their diaries and show you their trades. Some of them manage money, others trade for themselves; some trade for a living, others are on the semi-professional level. All are totally serious and honest in sharing their trades with those who would like to learn. You will meet American and international traders who trade stocks, futures, and options using a variety of methods. All are normally very private, but now, thanks to their relationships with Dr. Elder, you can see exactly how these traders decide to enter and exit trades. Each chapter illustrates an entry and an exit for two trades, with comments by Dr. Elder. With this book as your guide, you can get closer to mastering the key themes of trading—psychology, tactics, risk control, record keeping, and the decision-making process. Entries and Exits: Visits to Sixteen Trading Rooms is an important and essential addition to any trading library. A novice trader or one of intermediate experience will find almost endless wisdom to be mined here, but there are also many, many gems for seasoned pros. Imagine being able to sit for hours with 16 traders and pick through in detail their philosophy of trading, their most commons errors, the wisdom they have learned from years of markets--bull markets, bear markets, consolidations, doldrums--and being able to view their trading logs and actually re-trade with them their winners and losers. |

#25: E-Books : 45 Years in Wall Street by W. D. Gann |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 23 January 2009 | Views: 1296 |
| |
This book was written in 1949. By all means what put forth by Gann as the 12 and the 24 rules are still valid today. In fact, his ideas are still being copied in simply all other trading books. Even the diary like section in Soros' Alchemy of Fianance did resembled the style of a majority part of this book. In short, a must read for any trader! W. D. Gann's last book, 45 Years in Wall Street, written when he was 72 years of age, was arguably his best stock market book. It was written with the immense benefit of his lifetime of experience in Wall Street. It was inspired by a desire to pass on his wisdom to others. Gann always openly hinted that the details for his celebrated forecasting method were concealed in his writings. This book, as is all others written by Gann, is written on two levels. The first level is expository and describes how to swing-trade. The arcana submerged in the second level can be approached by examining the recurrent themes about time, price, and geometry, and the dates which he feels are significant. |

#26: E-Books : Buying and Selling Volatility by Kevin B. Connolly |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 22 January 2009 | Views: 1386 |
| |
The concept of profiting from trading volatility is not new, but is known to only a few players in the derivatives industry. Buying and Selling Volatility is the first book to explain this trading strategy in detail without using complex mathematics. Offering a new approach to the subject of options, seen purely from a volatility viewpoint, the author uses illustrations to clearly explain the connection between volatility and options. He explains how investors can profit from the volatility, or lack of volatility, of an option price regardless of whether the market rises or falls. Useful to both novice investors and professional traders, Buying and Selling Volatility also supplies the reader with a risk management software system that is comparable to those used commercially. Buying and Selling Volatility explains, with the extensive use of diagrams, how one can profit from the volatility (or lack of it) of the price of an instrument, irrespective of the direction of the price. It provides a unique approach to the subject of options, seen purely from a volatility viewpoint |

#27: E-Books : Digital Day Trading by Howard Abell |

| The Author: ompeompe | 20 January 2009 | Views: 919 |
| |
Can you think faster than the market? If so, you may have what it takes to profit from day trading. More and more professional traders are reaping rewards from market volatility. The money making potential for stock day- traders is equal to that of futures traders because of the favorable cost of entry. The electronic environment also provides great opportunities for success in this growing field. Within the subject of investing, the big buzz is over day trading. A day trader is someone who establishes a market position at some point during the day but who exits the position before the close of day. Day traders make money by making a lot of trades that take advantage of even small fluctuations in price. They also have the benefit of not having to worry about events that take place after the market closes that may have an effect on prices. The volatility of the market and the ready market access afforded by online trading accounts have made day trading an attractive option. Abell is an executive with the Innergame Division of Rand Financial Services, a Chicago-based futures clearing member. His advice assumes a basic knowledge of the technology necessary for online investing. He provides step-by-step guidance on getting set up and describes various trading strategies and tactics. Abell emphasizes the need for a personal strategy and a business plan, stressing that no system is perfect. |

#28: E-Books : World Event Trading by Andrew Busch |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 20 January 2009 | Views: 663 |
| |
Though often times trading books deal with the minutia of market movements, Andrew examines three types of world events: infectious diseases, natural disasters, and politics, from a historical perspective before showing how all three impact the financial markets. In an age of twenty-four-hour news coverage and cutting-edge technology, world events dominate our lives and impact the financial markets. From hurricanes to the war in Iraq, we exist in a crazy, connect-the-dot planet. However, the well-prepared investor can turn these events into profits. All they need is the ability to recognize the consistent characteristics of these events and the vision to build a strategy or portfolio that can take advantage of these situations when they begin to unfold. Excellent advice and technique on how to use current events to your advantage when reading market movement. The author uses past events, everything from politics to mother nature, to show how you can predict market movement, and even looks into the future to predict what we can prepare for next. As a foreign exchange strategist with over twenty years of financial experience, author Andrew Busch knows what it takes to make it in today’s dynamic market. And now, with World Event Trading, he wants to show you how. |

#29: E-Books : The Art of Day Trading |
| |
| The Author: ompeompe | 17 January 2009 | Views: 1786 |
| |
It's no secret most day-trading profits are made by floor traders. They not only have the advantages of low commissions and ease of execution, but they have the "edge" or the ability to buy at the bid price and sell at the ask price. Although day-trading off the floor is a completely different game, traders also must have some sort of advantage that will give them a trading edge. Certainly live, tick-by-tick quoting equipment is necessary, along with charting and technical analysis software. Most novice day- traders watch prices, analyze various intraday charts and indicators, thinking they can assimilate this flow of information and make profitable trades. They often hope for some sort of "sixth sense" to give them an advantage. Unfortunately, the market usually demonstrates it has more of a sixth sense and soon separates the trader from his money. Something concrete is needed to give a trader the confidence and commitment to "pull the trigger." There are so many examples in books and magazine articles isolating some guru's favorite chart formation or technical indicator that shows where to buy or sell. |

Since it is lion country out there the first perspective that you must have regarding trading is where you slot into the food chain - where do you fit into the money chain as a retail trader? You have to understand your business (turning a profit) in the context of the business of the others in this money chain. They all feed off the forex market and its spin offs and so the outsider, you, often unwittinly find yourself last in the queue. There is an excellent book "Where are the Customers' Yachts - Or a Good hard look at Wall Street which takes a look at this phenomenon. You are amongst professionals: professional marketers, professional businessmen, professional market makers, professional dealers, professional analysts and advisors... If you want to make money in the business of online forex trading you better have a well thought out business strategy and approach. Don't make that most common mistake and think this is all about finding a system to enter and exit trades. You will lose your shirt. |
