: 2![]() This is Yngwie's best album and it features his best vocalist ever Joe Lynn Turner. Yngwie combines Neo Classical Metal, Hair Metal and Power Metal to make his best album ever! The collaboration of Joe Lynn Turner and Yngwie Malmsteen make this album a classic in my book. The songs are perfectly crafted, which says a lot for an artist who is known as a guitar virtuoso, but a mediocre songwriter. In fact, this is the only album by Yngwie Malmsteen where the songs are equal in appeal to his guitar mastery. Every song on Odyssey is a masterpiece. Even the slow, thoughtful songs still sound "heavy" enough, but the music is emotionally moving at the same time. And Joe Lynn Turner is at his best on this album, hook-laden melodic rock tunes that need to be heard TAB GUITARS INCLUDED! Author: ompeompe | 23 December 2008 |
: 1![]() "SHUT UP WE KNOW YOU CAN PLAY! This is a Video instruction how to play "For The Love of God" note by note in PASSION AND WARFARE Album Widely acclaimed as his best album, Passion and Warfare finds Steve Vai coming into his own as a composer, as well as bypassing vocals almost entirely. His style isn't quite as derivative of influences Frank Zappa and Joe Satriani as it was six years earlier on Flex-able; while some of Vai's sense of humor is still evident on tracks like the cock rock strut of "The Audience Is Listening," it is mostly replaced by a spiritual reflectiveness on ballads like "For the Love of God" and "Blue Powder" and dignified, committed rockers like "I Would Love To" and "Liberty." Vai is a more distinguished composer than most of his guitar-shredder contemporaries, and rather than simply showing off his technique, he isn't afraid to experiment or take chances in his playing. Thus, Passion and Warfare is arguably the richest and best hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the '80s. Steve Vai (SV) took time out from talking to muso mags to shoot the breeze with me backstage at the Shepherds Bush Empire on 4 June 1997. Mike Keneally (MK) also joined us on the fat floating sofa in Steves dressing room. Author: Marcus1989 | 23 December 2008 |
: 2![]() MP3 | 2 Discs (33 Tracks) | 192 KBPS | Genre: Grunge | 197 MB In an era when pop nihilism fulfilled its dark promise all too regularly, Pearl Jam not only survived, but thrived to become one of rock's greatest bands. This 33-track double-disc career retrospective documents the arc of a career that went from arena and radio triumphs in the early 90's (while Nirvana's promise imploded in the wake of hype, Pearl Jam's crowd-pleasing fame only burgeoned) to the uncompromising, core audience-focused tack that carried the band into the 21st century. Shrewdly compiled by the band into an "Up" disc that chronicles the band's driving, Stone Gossard-Mike McCready fueled hard rock dramatics (including such early career landmarks as "Jeremy," "Alive" and "Even Flow" alongside more aggressive fare like "Go" and "Spin the Black Circle") and a "Down" side that focuses more on Eddie Vedder's brooding, often dark ballads ("Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town," "Yellow Ledbetter," their unlikely hit cover of the oldie "Last Kiss"), it's a collection that underscores both the band's range and musical integrity. Though centered largely on the band's pre-Vitalogy studio era and containing no new material, longtime producer/collaborator Brendan O'Brien contributes remixes of "Once," "Alive" and "Black" that offer new insights on the familiar, while non-album tracks like "Man of the Hour" and "State of Love and Trust" considerably enhance the overall listening perspective here. : 0![]() This is is the seventh album and the first Van Halen record with sammy on vocals, released in 1986. And this is their biggest selling album with sammy as the singer. It went 6 times platnium. And so, the Sammy Hagar years begun also he really steped up and belts out some great vocals. With the oberheim keyboard classic sound. The guitar riffs are great and it feels like a party. The guys sound like they're having fun. Includes classics like "Dreams", and "Summer Nights". The songs from this album have energy and the sound is timeless. "Dreams" is more commercial with a synth driven opening and a hook that is very memorable and could be enjoyed by both pop and rock fans. "Love Walks In" a power ballad is among the slowest songs. "Best of Both World's" is the complete opposite, a ragy classic rock anthem and ditto with the title track and "Summer Nights" where Eddie Van Halen proves why he's considered among the world's greatest guitarists. "Good Enough" and "Get Up" are standards in fast pace, good party songs! Brings back a lot of good memories...There is something for everyone here, rock standards, rock ballads and some quite commercial synth laden rock-pop songs. The album was named after Eddie Van Halen's home studio, 5150, which is a California police term for a mentally disturbed person (a reference to Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code). The 5150 name has been used several times by Van Halen. It is the name of Eddie Van Halen's private studio, the name of a custom Frankenstein striped Kramer Pacer Special used by Eddie Van Halen throughout the 80s, and it is the model name of a signature guitar amplifier endorsed by Eddie for Peavey Electronics. : 7![]() MP3 | 26 Tracks | 160 KBPS | Genre: Pop | 90 MB Andy Williams scored different kinds of hits at different periods in his career. In the 1950s, he had a handful of Top Ten pop hits in styles ranging from light rock & roll to Hawaiian music. In the 1960s, he made a transition to big ballads, many of them movie themes, and as a result was among the top album and easy-listening artists of the decade. Some of the songs most closely associated with him are not among his biggest hits as measured by the singles charts, if they were singles at all -- the primary example being his signature song, "Moon River," featured on his breakthrough LP, Moon River & Other Great Movie Themes, but never even released as a single. Given these circumstances, the compiler of a Williams best-of collection has more latitude in making his choices than he might for another artist. This collection includes Williams' classics such as "Music To Watch Girls By", "Cant Get Used To Losing You", "Moon River", "Cant Take My Eyes Off You", "On The Street Where You Live", "Up Up And Away", "House Of Bamboo", "Born Free". TrackList: 01. Music To Watch Girls By 02. I Can't Get Used to Losing You 03. Moon River 04. Can't Take My Eyes Off You 05. On the Street Where You Live Author: ompeompe | 28 November 2008 |
: 1![]() This is the first Maiden album after Di'anno left them, holds great nostalgic value... This album was when Maiden was a lot tougher and more criminal, a flawless classic Iron Maiden album with the whole band in top form and giving one of the best performances of their lives. Di'Anno's vocals especially stand out here. "Killers" is a metal classic, it's certainly a worthy addition to your collection. THE BAND: Steve Harris (bass), Paul Di'Anno (vocals), Dave Murray (guitar), Adrian Smith (guitar), Clive Burr (drums), 11 tracks clocking in at approximately 42 minutes. All songs written by bassist Steve Harris and sharing credits with Murray and Di'Anno on one song each. The best of the two albums with DiAnno. With Adrian Smith joining the band one hears the great fusion of musical talent with Dave Murray making the band one of the best in having essentially two lead guitars. Just a great collaboration between the two guitarists. Better musically and lyricall than their starter album, this album has some great songs such as 'Wrath Child' and 'Killers.' 'Prodigal Son' has to be one of the greatest rock ballads of British New Wave metal: great lyrics and just an excellent instrumental arrangement. #17: Music : Buzz Ballads

: 0![]() MP3 | 18 Tracks | 192 KBPS | Genre: Rock & Roll | 53 MB The early Elvis was often moony-eyed, and the Platters had their share (and someone else's, too) of romantic ballad hits, but it was Buddy Holly who all but single-handedly introduced the concept of sweetness to rock & roll. Not just on hushed near-ballads like "Everyday" either, but in many of his fastest numbers as well: "Peggy Sue," "I'm Gonna Love You Too." Even when he plays the tough guy on "Rave On," he comes on like a secret teddy bear. That understanding of love's currents, along with Holly's ingeniously calibrated performances and straightforward songwriting, make his records as timeless as anything from the '50s he didn't live through--more timeless, in most cases. : 0![]() MP3 | 2 Discs (11 + 9) | Genre: Classic Rock | 128 kbps | 77.5 MB Despite the acclaim accorded Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town, this is the album that broke Springsteen into the big leagues, thanks to "Hungry Heart," then his most pointedly commercial song; it had new fans swooning but some old ones grumbling for the "poetic" Springsteen of days gone by. Not to worry--though more economical lyrically, The River had something to offer nearly everyone: There's old-time frat rock ("Sherry Darling"), empathetic character studies ("The River," "Stolen Car," "Independence Day"), passionate rockers ("Out in the Street"), dramatic ballads ("Point Blank"), and even a couple of good-natured goofs ("Cadillac Ranch," "Crush on You," "Ramrod"). A sprawling double-disc set, The River offers proof that Springsteen could do it all and could do it better than virtually anyone else. --Daniel Durchholz Track Listings: Disc 1 1. : 1![]() He is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, born October 18, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is an influential figure and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's website, "While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll, Chuck Berry comes the closest of any single figure to being the one who put all the essential pieces together." He is the first and one of its greatest early songwriters and guitarists, the main shaper of its instrumental voice and one of its greatest performers. Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986. He received Kennedy Center Honors in 2000 in a "class" with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Plácido Domingo, Angela Lansbury, and Clint Eastwood. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Chuck Berry #5 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He was also ranked 6th on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Berry's incredible success is due to his ability to articulate the concerns and attitudes of his audience in his music. Of all the early breakthrough rock & roll artists, none is more important to the development of the music than Chuck Berry. For this reason, tunes like "Johnny B. Goode," "Maybellene" and "Memphis" have become anthems to an integrated American youth and popular culture. Berry is a musical icon who established rock and roll as a musical form and brought the worlds of black and white together in song. |
