This is one of those rare and unsettling examples of a rock film which has the all the immediacy of reportage from a distant war-zone. The terrain is Olympic Studios in London in June 1968, where the Rolling Stones, recovering from the critical mauling of At Their Satanic Majesty's Request, are at work on the tracks that would become Beggars' Banquet. The film-maker was Jean-Luc Godard, at the height of his reputation as Europe's most daring director. Godard had briefly left Paris for London in the wake of the Paris riots of May '68 with the aim of making a film about art, power and revolution. The Stones, at their most dazzling and Luciferian, were, as Godard saw it, perfect for the role of agents of anarchy in a movie whose stated aim was to 'subvert, ruin and destroy all civilised values'. |

#9: E-Books : Metallica - Riff by Riff (Book+Audio) |

The Riff by Riff Series is intended to allow guitarists or bassists the chance to learn the most important riffs from their favorite artists' songs. This is exactly what Mark Phillips and Cherry Lane make possible in this great book. It includes all of the main riffs ( rythm tracks, mainly) from Kill 'em All to The Black Album in Play-It-Like-It-Is format. So for introductory players or pros, wheather your tonking out "The Four Hosemen" or ripping through "Blackened", Metallica: Riff by Riff is the book for you! This book has music and tabs for every song by Metallica through the Black Album. It includes most of the rhythm riffs from those songs and in very few cases, a few solo bars. Advanced guitarists should look into the "Play it like it is" books because they contain entire songs, and not just 2-page rhythm examples Hammett was invited to join Metallica following the dismissal of the band's original lead guitarist Dave Mustaine in 1983. This was prior to the release of Kill 'Em All. At the time Hammett was taking private guitar lessons from the now-famous Joe Satriani. Hammett has written and contributed riffs for Metallica songs since the mid-1980s (particularly in the 1990s during the Load era). One of these riffs, used in "Enter Sandman", was written in a hotel room at 3:15 am, and became one of Metallica's most popular songs. It was the first track and first single on Metallica's self-titled "Black Album" and was ranked 399th on Rolling Stones list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. The bridge for "Creeping Death" was originally an Exodus riff that Hammett took with him to Metallica. |

#12: Games : Feyruna 2: The Druids |

The gameplay of Feyruna 2 is completely different to part 1. Dark crystals threaten all creatures living in Feyruna and only the druids can destroy them. But even the mighty druids have suffered and lost their power. You have to send a magic sphere to each druid to restore his power. You need to support every druid, they can destroy the dark crystal only with a combined attack. While spheres are rolling towards the druids, you need to protect them from enemies. Guide the spheres to rune stones, which cast protective magic on them. Don't forget to collect treasures, because the most powerful spells need to be purchased from a shopkeeper. The gameplay style is a combination of action and strategy. Then there are bonus rounds, where no enemies distract you. But you have no direct control over your sphere and need to open/close trap doors and magic portals at the right moment in order to solve the puzzle. Finally, there's pure action in the boss levels, where you control Farol, the most powerful druid of Feyruna. You need to protect him from enemy attacks, while he uses his rainbow sphere to destroy the defences of a master crystal and finally blows it to pieces. Tags: Game |

mp3 Format | 320 kbps | 145.2 MB The Rolling Stones are an English band whose music was initially based on rhythm and blues and rock & roll. Formed in London and having their first success in the UK, they subsequently became popular in the US during the "British Invasion" in the early 1960s. The band formed in 1962 when original leader Brian Jones and pianist Ian Stewart were joined by singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, whose songwriting partnership later contributed to their taking the leadership role in the group. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. Ian Stewart was removed from the official lineup in 1963 but continued to work with the band as road manager and keyboardist until his death in 1985. |

#16: Music : Stray Cats - Built For Speed |
 |
| |
| The Author: CaseMan | 8 June 2008 | Views: 1490 |
|
|
| |
mp3 Format | 224 kbps | Genre: Rock | 61.2 MB The Stray Cats, schoolmates from New York City, are the most popular and the best-known revival band in the world. They were young, lovable hoodlums offering carefree fun, singing about teenage frustrations and release, playing intensely, and goofing off, too, riding the bass and playing shirtless to show their skin and their tattoos. As befitted the recessionary times, the Stray Cats were simple: their stage setup was one amplifier and two drums (using wireless technology, the bass went straight into the PA system). Despite their youth, they were polished, professional, and steeped in 1950s music, favoring the harder side: Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran and the Rock'n'Roll Trio. Their stated goal was to bring recognition for rockabilly as British bands such as the Rolling Stones had for blues in the 1960s. Built for Speed is the best of the Stray Cats albums, and is excellent throughout. Track Listing:1. Rock This Town 2. Built For Speed 3. Rev It Up & Go 4. Stray Cat Strut 5. Little Miss Prissy |
