George Carlin's stand-up style has certainly evolved over the past 30 years. The 1970s albums have some long personal anecdotes (like "I used to be Irish Catholic"), and each of his 90s albums usually have a significantly long cynical social commentary. I admittedly like all of his work, but I know that some older fans are partial to his more straight-forward comedy style than his current bitter rants. "A Place For My Stuff" seems to epitomize this middle era, with lots of his very imaginative "D'yever notice...?" observations (a style which Seinfeld and Gallagher seemed to later popularize) and just plain whacky comedy. Though as always, Carlin's exaggerations and executions are perfect.
