The story is set in 1930s Hong Kong, with Chow as a shaggy-haired, would-be bad guy named Sing, who gets caught up in the middle of a war between the top-hat-wearing Axe gang and the hard scrabble inhabitants of Pig Sty Alley. Chow--who wrote, produced, and directed--doesn't step in as the star here for quite a while, letting the comic duties fly in a myriad of directions: a landlady in curlers (Yuen Qiu) has a yell that can flatten buildings; people get kicked across courtyards and through walls; musician assassins whip ghost sabers from lyre strings, and a mental patient in pink flip-flops named "the Beast" (Leung Siu Lung) catches bullets in his fingers. Buoyed by SOCCER's box office success, HUSTLE uses bigger production values and a dizzying amount of CGI-enhanced martial arts (imagine Bruce Lee vs. Bugs Bunny in THE MATRIX). It's full of references to other films and filmmakers, revering spaghetti westerns and '70s Shaw brothers movies a la Tarantino's KILL BILL (fight choreographer Yuen Wo Ping worked on both films). It also pays sly homage to the works of Wong Kar Wai, D.W. Griffith, Sam Raimi, Jean-Luc Godard, Stanley Kubrick, and Akira Kurosawa. Raymond Wong's inspired score matches each cinematic reference with the appropriate cue as the camera circles and swoops around the sprawling sets. This is a real treat, more than a great action film or comedy, it's a great film period, and one that set box office records in the East. |

Kung Fu Dunk, formerly known as Slam Dunk is a film that is inspired by the Slam Dunk manga and anime series and is almost like an imitation of Shaolin Soccer by incooperating Kung Fu into sports. The film revolves around an orphaned boy, Shi-Jie (Jay Chou) who grew up in a kung fu university but get thrown out of the university after making trouble at a nightclub. Eventually, he meets Wang-Li (Eric Tsang) who discovers Shi-Jie’s talents and Wang-Li is keen to make Shi-Jie his cash cow.On the excuse of helping him search for his long lost parents, Wang-Li invited him to play basketball at the First University. After joining the basketball team, Shi-Jie is often distracted by Li-Li (Charlene Choi), sister of Ting-Wei (Bo-Lin Chen), the captain of First University basketball team. In order to get the attention of Li-Li, Shi-Jie competes with Xiao-Lan (Baron Chen) but the conflicts between each other when Ting-Wei helps Shi Jie to combine his Kung-Fu with the important basketball techniques. After winning games after games, finally First University meets its major competitor in a team led by Lee Tien, a former captain of First University basketball team, who has betrayed them in the previous season. Lee Tien also used to taunt Ting-Wei by telling the tale of what he has done to Ting-Wei’s girlfriend. Ting-Wei has resorted to drink alcohol to overcome this.Earlier, Wang-Li has made great efforts to persuade four grand masters from the kung fu university in which Shi-Jie grows up to take up a challenge at the last moment. With Ting-Wei and Xiao-Lan both injured, will Shi-Jie manage to overcome this obstacle and win the championship? Well, let me spoil it for you — First University initially loses the championship due to a bribed referee but Shi-Jie uses his Kung Fu to freeze time and reverse it to win the championship. |

Shaolin Soccer | DVDRip | HQ | 299 Mb IMDb :http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286112/ Info :Shaolin Soccer tells the story of Sing (Stephen Chow), a master of Shaolinquan Kung Fu whose goal in life is to let the world know about the benefits of the ancient art. He experiments with various methods to mainstream the art, including comedic song and dance routines, all of which bear no positive results. He meets an old man called Fung (Ng Man Tat), who was a soccer star in his days until his teammate Hung, now a rich businessman, paid him to shave his points. After missing the game-winning penalty kick, Fung's “golden leg” was broken by angry baseball bat-wielding fans (hired by Hung) and had not been able to play ever since. Sing tries to explain his desire to promote the modern uses of kung fu. Fung is initially unconvinced with Sing's idea and brushes off Sing's pleas. The latter kicks a beer can thrown at him by Fung, which vanishes into the sky, but the old man remains adamant. Later, Fung sees a huge crack in a wall some miles away, only to discover that it was caused by the very same tin can which Sing kicked earlier and is astounded. He also witnesses a fight between Sing and a group of local thugs who often ridicule the Shaolin master. After Sing humbles the rogues in a one-sided fight, nearly destroying a brick wall just by kicking a soccer ball, Fung is hit with an idea and asks if Sing could use kung fu to play soccer. Sing likes the idea and agrees for Fung to become his coach. |
