Fundamental Technical Trading by Robert T. Kiyosaki (AudioBook)

Fundamental trading is a method by which a trader focuses on company-specific events to determine which stock to buy and when to buy it. Trading on fundamentals is more closely associated with the buy-and-hold strategy of investing than with short-term trading. There are, however, specific instances in which trading on fundamentals can generate some nice profits in a short period.

Trading on fundamentals may be risky in cases of euphoria and hype, but the astute trader is able to mitigate risk by making history his or her guide to short-term trading profits. In short, do your homework before jumping in.

Elliott Wave Simplified by Clif Droke

This book provides an explanation of the Elliott Wave theory into terms all traders can understand and successfully apply. The Elliott Wave Theory is a highly effective tool to help determine the financial condition of a given stock and how it will perform in the near future.

With the help of this book investors will be able to easily understand and apply the theory and profit from the results! This book also shows you how to: Combine Elliott Wave Theory with other technical analysis methods to produce optimal results. It would allow one to gain a basic understanding with the option to then go to the masters.

Utilize methods for anticipating, and profiting from, both long-term and short-term moves among listed stocks, and Gain from real-time examples of stock mrket forecast and analysis. Use the practical information and numerous charts in this book as a hedge against adverse moves in the financial market-you'll be glad you did!

All the book does is to discuss at a very simple level the main parts of elliot waves, coupled with some wyckoff, chart patterns, dow theory and other standard technical trading ideas such as trend lines. The discussions offer little insight and generally less information than from the standard TA books such as Murphy, Pring et al.

Technical Analysis of Stock Trends by Robert D. Edwards

Technical Analysis of Stock Market Trends with great enthusiasm. Here was a book that was originally written in the 1940's that is equally valid to anyone trying to play the stock market in the Twenty First Century.

It also give you insights into the wild times on Wall Street in the Roaring 20's, and teach you how the pros did stock manipulation and organized "bear traps." Understanding Wall Street irrational exuberance in 1928 helps a smart investor understand the irrational exuberance in twenty century. This book is the Bible of Technical analysis.

With a focus on pragmatic portfolio theory, editor Charles Bassetti significantly contributes t the technical analysis body of knowledge especially related to tactics, and has created a book worth a space on every technican’s bookshelf.

Technical analysis is a financial markets technique that claims the ability to forecast the future direction of security prices through the study of past market data, primarily price and volume. In its purest form, technical analysis considers only the actual price and volume behavior of the market or instrument, on the assumption that price and volume are the two most relevant factors in determining the future direction and behavior of a particular stock or market.

Currency Trading and Intermarket Analysis How to Profit by Ashraf Laïdi

As head FX strategist at CMC Markets–one of the world's leading forex/commodity brokers–Ashraf Laidi understands the forces shaping today's currency market and their interplay with interest rates, equities, and commodities. And now, with Currency Trading and Intermarket Analysis, he shares his extensive experiences in this field with you.

Throughout the book, Laidi outlines the tools needed to understand the macroeconomic and financial nuances of this dynamic field and provides you with insights that are essential to making the most of your time within it. Great Book. The ability to think independently, and to see the outliers, not the current fads, is what makes his analysis so valuable.

This book will be helpful to those seeking an introduction to the interrelatedness of the currency, commodity, equity and fixed income markets. The book is well written and easy to read.

Currencies are becoming an integral part of many investors' portfolios and have grown to be a distinct asset class in banks' investment products. While the mechanics of the forex market and the theories underpinning it have been widely explored, there has been little discussion regarding the practical intermarket relationships shaping currencies via interest rates, equities, and commodities.

Day Trading With Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout by Toby Crabel

This author is one of the few that have touched upon one of the most fundamental and universal properties of almost any market. Whether your games is futures or equities, look at any chart and you will see periods of little price activity alternating with periods of greater price movement. This is the crux of this book.

Markets invariably move from stages of expansion, to contraction, and back to expansion, etc. Several other price patterns and technical analysis approaches are tested as well. However, after reading this book, you will no longer be one of those who try to "get in" on a runaway bull or bear market - only to have it turn right around on you as if it knew you were coming, but rather, you will be one of the ones who are ready when an otherwise "dead" market takes everyone else by surprise.

The main ideas in the book have to do with expansion and contraction in volatility and moves off the open (Opening Range Breakouts).

Toby is a successful hedge fund manager, having worked for Victor Niederhoffer before starting his own company. Toby's returns are good, but his risk management is far better. Toby's funds have grown primarily due to his excellent risk management skills as opposed to his returns. In layman's terms this means that he hardly ever loses money but he doesn't make much for his clients. This is actually fairly unique and he should be commended for finding this niche in the business.

Sentiment in the Forex Market by Jamie Saettele

Crowds move markets and at major market turning points, the crowds are almost always wrong. When crowd sentiment is overwhelmingly positive or overwhelmingly negative – it's a signal that the trend is exhausted and the market is ready to move powerfully in the opposite direction. Sentiment has long been a tool used by equity, futures, and options traders.

In Sentiment in the Forex Market, FXCM analyst Jaime Saettele applies sentiment analysis to the currency market, using both traditional and new sentiment indicators, including: Commitment of Traders reports; time cycles; pivot points; oscillators; and Fibonacci time and price ratios. He also explains how to interpret news coverage of the markets to get a sense of when participants have become overly bullish or bearish.

Saettele points out that several famous traders such as George Soros and Robert Prechter made huge profits by identifying shifts in crowd sentiment at major market turning points. Many individual traders lose money in the currency market, Saettele asserts, because they are too short-term oriented and trade impulsively. He believes retail traders would be much more successful if they adopted a longer-term, contrarian approach, utilizing sentiment indicators to position themselves at the beginning points of major trends.

With a number of firms now offering retail traders direct access to the interbank foreign exchange market, participation in the FX market has grown substantially. As a result, the amount of technical and fundamental information available to traders has increased exponentially in recent years. An area that has failed to receive the same amount of attention is sentiment.

Trading on Momentum by Ken Wolff

The NASDAQ has reached a record 60 new highs in 1999, closing above the 4000 milestone. This record was the icing on the cake to a year of volatile victories for the NASDAQ, which experienced the largest one-year gain ever for a major market index. Momentum has never been more important. For example, the first day of tradingin 2000 saw the NASDAQ dropping close to 100 points before finishing the day with a significant gain, yet on the second day of trading, the NASDAQ experienced its worst point drop in history. This text shows traders how to profit consistently by recognizing when the market has changed, determining what has changed, and adapting their trading methods to this new environment.

Every second of every trading day, literally one-half of executed trades have the potential to generate immediate profits. In those brief moments following the trade, it isn't the fundamentals of each stock that changeit is the trading momentum. Traders who understand how to recognize and use this momentum can greatly increase their percentage of profitable tradesevery second of every trading day.

Day Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien

The currency/foreign exchange (FX) market is by far the largest financial market in the world, with trading volumes surpassing $1.9 trillion a day. Although primarily dominated by a worldwide network of interbank traders, a new era of Internet-based communication technologies has recently allowed individual investors to gain direct access to this popular—and profitable—market.

Written by Kathy Lien—chief strategist for the number one online currency broker in the world—Day Trading the Currency Market reveals a variety of technical and fundamental profit-making strategies for trading the currency/FX market, and provides a more detailed look at how this market actually works.

Filled with in-depth insight and expert advice, Day Trading the Currency Market can show you how to enter this highly competitive arena with confidence and exit with profits.

You will find some interesting and informative content in this book that can be useful in your educational path in Forex. But it is important to keep in mind that the book is written not by a trading entrepreneur but by a representative of one of the largest Forex brokers. To become a successful trader it is essential to recognize the vast difference in agenda between winning traders and brokers. The entire industry is driven by brokers and almost all material available on learning to trade is tied directly or indirectly to the broker industry whose agenda is to teach trading strategies that make the most money for THEM. Because the industry is unregulated, brokers are able to get away with many less than ethical practices. For instance, it is ironic that another reader mentions how Kathy covers the subject of the "carry trade" in detail.

The Strategic Electronic Day Trader by Robert Deel

Anyone with a computer can day trade, but day trading clearly isn't for every one. In fact, as Robert Deel makes clear in The Strategic Electronic Day Trader, only a very few who try it will survive and prosper. Deel, who has trained thousands of traders in the last decade, says 92 percent will lose money in the first two years, and only 2 percent will make money on a consistent basis. He compares the challenge to war: "Most battles are won or lost in the preparation stage, long before the first shot is fired. Trading is high-tech warfare. Never underestimate your opponents. Remember, if you are not the marksman, you are the target."

The first six chapters explain what every day trader needs to know: how to read the NASDAQ level-two screen; order routing, execution methods, and rules; and trading through the Electronic Communications Networks (ECNs). Included are sections on charting and technical indicators with specific advice for adapting these to very short-term trading strategies. Deel shows how to create screens and filters to identify high probability/profitability trades, and he discusses the best times of the day to trade and when and how to go short. Also included is a section on recommended hardware configurations and proper setup of the trading environment.

In final chapters, Deel describes "the biomechanical trader" who prepares for battle through an intense process of mental training and conditioning that includes biofeedback, meditation, visualization, and hypnosis. This is a practical, easily understood presentation of what it takes to be one of the few who will succeed as marksmen.

Essential Technical Analysis by Leigh Stevens

An Introduction to Technical Analysis from One of the Top Names in the Business

A good introduction to technical analysis. It reads lighter then most tutorials due to the skill of the writer. Essential Technical Analysis is a highly valued resource for technical traders. The importance of comprehensive and well-researched market behaviors, indicators, and systems were well expressed graphically with many examples.

No technical analyst should be without this book. Stevens's book could become another classic.

Essential Technical Analysis will give the new student of technical analysis a good overview of both classical chart patterns and a myriad of technical indicators, but so will many other texts. What sets this volume apart is that it presents the subject in the context of real-world trading situations, not idealized well-chosen examples.

Books on technical analysis, especially those aimed at novices, are typically filled with charts in which the selected patterns are both unambiguous and work perfectly. As Leigh Stevens recognizes and confronts, however, the real world is a far more sloppy place: charts may often contain conflicting indicators, and patterns don't always work as described. Reading Essential Technical Analysis is like sitting beside a veteran technical analyst and having him describe his methods and market experiences.

Timing the Market with Unique Indicators by Sherman McClellan

This is a must see Video if you wish to understand the McClellan Oscillator and Summation Index. You will learn directly from Sherman McClellan and his son, Tom, on how to use this powerful indicator. You will also learn how you can apply this unique indicator to the futures market. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only video on this subject.

Fundamental analysts say it's impossible to time the markets, and in a way they're right...It is impossible to time the market using fundamental factors. One has to look at the technical indicators to get the right insights. It can be done, and we can help.”
- Tom and Sherman McClellan

About the Authors:
Tom McClellan's research into market movements is almost entirely technical in nature, and has resulted in consistent top 10 rankings for intermediate stock market and gold timing according to Timer Digest. Tom is the editor of both The McClellan Market Report and its companion Daily Fax Edition. He is a graduate of West Point where he studied aerospace engineering, and served as an Army helicopter pilot for 11 years. He began his own study of market technical analysis while in the service. Tom is the son of Sherman and Marian McClellan, who in 1969 originally developed the McClellan Oscillator and Summation Index. These two indicators are now widely followed by market technicians. Alt..He discovered ways to expand the use of his parents' indicators to forecast future market turning points. Tom views the movements of prices in the financial market through the eyes of an engineer, which allows him to focus on what the data really say rather than interpreting events according to the same "conventional wisdom" used by other analysts.

Bollinger on Bollinger Bands by John A. Bollinger

Bollinger Bands are a technical analysis tool invented by John Bollinger in the 1980s. Having evolved from the concept of trading bands, Bollinger Bands can be used to measure the highness or lowness of the price relative to previous trades.

The purpose of Bollinger Bands is to provide a relative definition of high and low. By definition, prices are high at the upper band and low at the lower band. This definition can aid in rigorous pattern recognition and is useful in comparing price action to the action of indicators to arrive at systematic trading decisions.

The use of Bollinger Bands varies wildly among traders. Some traders buy when price touches the lower Bollinger Band and exit when price touches the moving average in the center of the bands. Other traders buy when price breaks above the upper Bollinger Band or sell when price falls below the lower Bollinger Band. Moreover, the use of Bollinger Bands is not confined to stock traders; options traders, most notably implied volatility traders, often sell options when Bollinger Bands are historically far apart or buy options when the Bollinger Bands are historically close together, in both instances, expecting volatility to revert back towards the average historical volatility level for the stock.-technical analysis.

Get the word from the Master! ... the indicator discussion is heaven for tech junkies.
