A good introduction to technical analysis. It reads lighter then most tutorials due to the skill of the writer. Essential Technical Analysis is a highly valued resource for technical traders. The importance of comprehensive and well-researched market behaviors, indicators, and systems were well expressed graphically with many examples.

No technical analyst should be without this book. Stevens's book could become another classic.

Steven "Steve" Siro Vai (born June 6, 1960 in Carle Place, New York) is an American instrumental rock guitarist, songwriter, vocalist, producer, and actor. After starting his professional career as a music transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, Vai would also record and tour in Zappa's backing band starting in 1980. The guitarist began a solo career starting in 1984 and has released 13 solo albums as of 2008. Apart from his work with Frank Zappa, Vai has also recorded and toured with numerous musical artists including Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake.

Vai has been a regular touring member of the G3 Concert Tour which began in 1996. In 1999 Vai started his own record label Favored Nations with the intent to showcase, as Vai describes: "...artists that have attained the highest performance level on their chosen instruments."

Vai also helped design his signature Ibanez JEM series of guitars. They feature a hand grip (fondly referred to as a "monkey grip") cut into the top of the body of the guitar, a humbucker-single coil-humbucker DiMarzio pickup configuration with several different types of pickup including Evolution, Breed and EVO 2. He also uses an Ibanez Edge double-locking tremolo system (the current production JEMs have the newer Edge Pro), as well as an elaborate and extensive "Tree of Life" inlay down the neck. Vai also equips many of his guitars with an Ibanez Backstop, a tremolo stabilizer that has been discontinued. Lately Vai has also equipped some of his guitars with True Temperament fretboards in order for his chords to sound completly in tune.[6] Vai also has a 7-string model designed by him named Ibanez Universe. The Universe later influenced the 7-string guitars used by Korn and other bands to create nu metal sounds in the late 1990s. He also has a signature Ibanez acoustic, the Euphoria. Before he used Ibanez, he briefly endorsed Jackson guitars, but this relationship would only last for two years.

Spider-Plant Man is a parody of Spider-Man, made for the Comic Relief 2005 appeal. It featured Rowan Atkinson as Peter Piper/Spider-Plant Man and Rachel Stevens as his love-interest Jane-Mary (parodying Mary-Jane Watson). Jim Broadbent also made an appearance, portraying Batman, and Tony Robinson as Robin.

PLOT:

[i]Peter Piper, a photographer, visits a laboratory where a spider-plant with teeth has been created. Piper attempts to take a picture, but is bitten on the bottom by a plant coming down from the ceiling.

Piper leaves the lab via a back door, sits in a dark alley, sweating, and begins to turns green. His molecular structure is shown to be changing with the text "This means something nasty is happening". When he wakes up, he finds that when he stretches, plants shoot from his arms. He is also able to climb walls.

Piper is then shown sitting on a roof, when he sees that Jane-Mary is getting mugged. He goes to save her, but he realises that he needs a costume. He appears in the alley in an Indian costume, a fairy costume and eventually in his Spider-Plant suit. He saves Jane-Mary, who falls in love with him. He suggests to her that he might be Peter Piper, only to be told that Piper is a loser.

Steve Vai is widely recognized as a technically highly advanced rock guitarist and has been described as a virtuoso in the world of guitar music. He has mastered many performance techniques on the instrument including legato, pinch harmonics and volume swells, and is noted for his whammy bar effects and sporadic outbursts on the instrument often contrasting sweep-picking or finger tapping with slower sections to his compositions.

Vai's playing style has been characterized as quirky and angular, owing to his technical facility with the instrument and deep knowledge of music theory.

Sex and Religion is a Steve Vai album presented under the name of simply "Vai" and before then "Light Without Heat" but had to be changed due to copyright issues to the original name. It features Strapping Young Lad and The Devin Townsend Band vocalist and guitarist Devin Townsend on vocals before he started either one of his own bands. Townsend also co-wrote the track "Pig", as well as "Just Cartilage" which was left off the final album. Steve also worked with Desmond Child on the track "In My Dreams with You".

This is the same soundboard recording as House On Fire. The only difference here is that Milk Cow Blues and Toys In the Attic are replaced with Cryin’ and Walk This Way. If you put the two shows together, you have the complete show. I always meant to do this but I figured it would have to go on two discs anyway, so, if you get House On Fire and Welcome To Mama Kin, you basically have the complete show, which is a truly great one friends. The CD packaging on this one lists track 10 as Christmas Song (Joe Perry), well, it is in fact the rare song Stop Messin’ Around with Christmas lyrics inserted by Joe Perry. If anyone has ever questioned Joe Perry’s guitar, just listen to this track and you will change your mind. When Steven Tyler introduces him before this tune, you can tell he has a lot of respect for his longtime friend. The Walk This Way Jam is pretty cool too!
