TTC Discrete Mathematics | 4.52 GBVideo Lectures | Xvid 640x480 29.97fps | MP3 - 128Kbps | 24 lectures, 30 minutes per lecture Taught by Arthur T. Benjamin | Harvey Mudd College | Ph.D., The Johns Hopkins University Welcome to Discrete Mathematics, a subject that is off the beaten track that most of us followed in school but that has vital applications in computer science, cryptography, engineering, and problem solving of all types. Most of the mathematics taught after elementary school is aimed at preparing students for one subject—calculus, which is the mathematics of how things grow and change continuously, like waves in the water or clouds in the sky. Discrete mathematics, on the other hand, deals with quantities that can be broken into neat little pieces, like pixels on a computer screen, the letters or numbers in a password, or directions on how to drive from one place to another. |

The Teaching Company - High School Level - Algebra I DVD | 5,3 GBTaught by Monica Neagoy, Independent Scholar/International Consultant /Ph.D., University of Maryland Course No. 101 (30 lectures, 30 minutes/lecture) The teaching of algebra in most of today’s classrooms is not significantly different from what it was 50 years ago. Certainly, there have been some attempts to change algebra instruction, such as the "new math" reform movement of the 1960s. But the changes that persist in today’s algebra curricula, as a result of that movement, are more superficial than substantial. On the other hand, mathematics and its applications have changed spectacularly in the past 50 years. The advent of technology, for example, in both applied and pure mathematics, has changed the way mathematicians, scientists, and social scientists do and use mathematics. It is high time for the classroom instruction of algebra to reflect some of these changes. This is why, in some exciting, interactive, hands-on algebra classes, we are beginning to see changes in what, how, and in what order mathematics is being taught. The Teaching Company - High School Level - Algebra II DVD | 5,5 GBTaught by Murray H. Siegel, Central Arizona College / Ph.D., Georgia State University Course No. 102 (30 lectures, 30 minutes/lecture) Algebra II is the crucial high school mathematics course in preparing for a college education. College students who have not mastered Algebra II find themselves taking a remedial, noncredit course called Intermediate Algebra. If you are struggling with Algebra II or are preparing to enter college or are currently in college and are struggling with Intermediate Algebra, then this Algebra II video series is for you. Or if you are an adult who has always wanted to master the beauty of mathematics and now wants the opportunity to do so, this course can fulfill that dream. Download the files immediately before they delete it again. A Man with a Plan Dr. Murray H. Siegel earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education. Kentucky Educational Television named him "The Best Math Teacher in America," and he has received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math Teaching. He has been teaching mathematics for decades to students of all ages, and his methods have been tested and proven in real classrooms. This course is designed, in its sequencing of lessons and in each subject taught, to produce true understanding—the kind of confident knowledge that eliminates the anxiety many have in mathematics. In this course, Dr. Siegel not only explains the key concepts and methods of Algebra II, he also takes you "behind the scenes." The 30 half-hour lessons show both how as well as why the methods work, using real-world applications to answer the age-old question in mathematics classes: When will I ever use this? With this series you learn Algebra II in a way you have never learned it before. |

The Teaching Company - Consciousness and its Implications [Video Training] | 2,05 GBTaught by Daniel N. Robinson | Philosophy Faculty, Oxford University | Distinguished Professor, Emeritus Georgetown University | Ph.D., City University of New York12 lectures, 30 minutes/lecture | AVI | 128 kbps | 576 x 416 | $199.95 It's as essential to human existence as water is to a fish, and yet every night we surrender it gratefully. As human beings, we recognize that we have it, but we can never be sure anyone else does. It has been the subject of debate for philosophers and scientists for millennia, but we've yet to pin down or even understand its true essence and purpose. It's consciousness, and if you think you grasp the nuances of this unique mental state, then take a moment to consider ... the zombie. Most of us are familiar with this wretched star of B-grade horror films: a once-human creature dead but not truly dead. In its state of suspended life, it performs many of the tasks we do every day. It can move, it can carry things, it finds its way around. In some movies, it even seems motivated by a purpose—the inexorable quest for living flesh. |

#14: E-Books : Robert Kiyosaki - Cashflow Quadrant: Rich Dad's Guide to Financial Freedom (2000) |

This guide to financial freedom will reveal why some people work less, earn more, pay less in taxes, and feel more financially secure than others. It is simply a matter knowing which quadrant to work from and when. If you've ever wondered why some people make it financially while others struggle all their lives, this is the book for you. It is a book written for people who are ready to move beyond job security and begin to find their own world of financial freedom. A large part of Kiyosaki's teachings focus on generating passive income by means of investment opportunities, such as real estate and small businesses, with the ultimate goal of being able to support oneself by such investments alone. In tandem with this, Kiyosaki defines "assets" as things that generate cash inflow, such as rental properties or businesses—and "liabilities" as things that generate cash outflow, such as house payments, cars, and so on. Such definitions are somewhat based on the concept of negative gearing. He also argues that financial leverage to be critically important in becoming rich. Cashflow Quadrant is a personal finance and investing book written with Sharon Lechter, C.P.A. as the sequel to Rich Dad, Poor Dad. In it, Kiyosaki discusses what he calls the cashflow quadrant: a grid consisting of the letters "E", "S", "B", and "I". The cashflow quadrant itself is just an illustrative tool to show the difference between Employees, Self Employed/Small Business owners, Business owners (not directly involved in the day-to-day operation of the company), and Investors. Kiyosaki discusses the differences between concepts and ideas characteristic of each quadrant, particularly as they relate to passive income and tax advantages. Again, as a self-help author, he invites readers to consider their own ideas about money. |
