Hinterland: Orc Lords Review
Orc Lords is an extension of the original Hinterland, a medieval-style RTS that combines battles and building into a single, colorful package. The game begins, like so many others, with character selection. After choosing an avatar, you are essentially plopped into the middle of the playing grounds. Your ruler declares that he expects you to turn the land into something great, a task made even more daunting by the game’s lack of training instruction or tutorial sections. This is problematic for any game in the real-time strategy genre; fortunately, Hinterland is relatively familiar in its feel and operation. Juggling the game’s resources require that you take part in a sort of balancing act, comprised of exploration, fighting, and construction.

Since the game starts with very little to offer in the way of resources, it relies upon the player’s initiative to head out into the wilderness and start hacking up baddies. Movement and controls in the game are thankfully simple, though a few things would have been better clarified in a tutorial. This forces you to learn much of the game through raw experience, which some would argue is more effective, anyway. Picking on foes of an inferior level is your best bet for collecting money early in the game. Zombies, dark elves, skeleton warriors – they’re all just mobile purses for you to rip apart. Bullying enough of these baddies also results in a boost to your reputation, and – assuming you are successful in your ventures – more folks will want to join your town. Attracting visitors through your success is crucial to progress, as they help with anything from production of food to creating slick battle equipment for you and your followers. If circumstances demand it (or if you’ve had a particularly bad day), you may conscript villagers and force them to fight for you in battle.

Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo is a good way to introduce younger gamers to Dragon Ball, but don't hope for anything more than that from Revenge. The game follows the adventures of a very young Goku, starting with his fight against the Red Ribbon Army. That's from the original Dragon Ball series, before it had a "Z" or "GT" in the title. And as you might expect from a Wii game with a child as its protagonist, this is a game aimed squarely at the young. Though it does have some juvenile appeal, the single-player mode is too simple to keep the attention of more experienced gamers, and the Versus mode is too simple for nearly everyone.

Ozzy Bubbles is a wonderfully crafted game, which takes you on a fantasy adventure to the underwater kingdom where 4 villains threaten and cause trouble to underwater inhabitants. You will be able to explore 40 levels with superbly detailed environments, fight 12 types of monsters (including 4 bosses) and get 17 various bonuses. The game's graphic artistry, sound track and effects are nicely interwoven together to make a lively and spectacular play. This classic arcade gameplay and superb visual effects are sure to appeal to everybody!

In Phase Two, players will encounter new and familiar heroes as the battleground of World War II shifts to Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Balkans. New units, buildings, terrain, and tactical capabilities, along with challenging and surprise-filled missions and campaigns, round out this newest offering from CDV Software Entertainment and Stormregion. A full-featured mission editor will also be included to expand the gameplay. No fan of World War II or RTS games will want to miss it.

Each Battle Force 5 episode transports kids to a fantasy world where they will meet an elite team of teens in five ultra-cool, ultra-fast vehicles who must work together to save earth from the most outrageous galactic predators.
In the game, fans are able to live out these adventures with pedal-to-the-metal combat-racing in numerous Battle Zones, where they car battle with The Sark and The Vandals, dangerous aliens from another dimension. When vehicles execute an attack, they transform and unleash their battle mode weaponry. Speeding along tracks between Battle Arenas, players must find a key in each Battle Zone to close the portal and prevent the aliens from invading Earth.

Those of us who have travelled the Australian Outback will recognise the backdrop to “Samson and Delilah” – aboriginals living in squalid housing amidst household garbage, derelict cars and ubiquitous dust. Warwick Thornton sets himself the difficult task of depicting the monotony, hopelessness and despair of this existence without boring and depressing the audience. To a large measure he succeeds, although this film will not appeal to those you go to the cinema to escape the real world. Thornton’s great skill is to convey the developing relationship between the star-crossed lovers via body language rather than dialogue. The performances by untrained actors, especially Marissa Gibson (Delilah), are exceptional. Your view of this film is likely to be determined by whether you can empathise with the main characters and their inevitable misadventures. I certainly did, although I concede Samson’s character was underdeveloped and very hard to like. Appropriately, the movie ends with a glimmer of hope based on the resilience and determination of aboriginal women.
