The Day Trader's Bible by Richard D. Wyckoff

"Who Else Wants To Learn The Secrets of One Of The World's Greatest Traders?"
(Without spending a dime!)

For those who have studied the work of this legendary figure, there is no doubt...Wyckoff was one of the greatest traders of all time.

He was one of the first people to recognise that patterns in price movement often repeat themselves. In making that discovery, he practically invented technical analysis. In fact, he was analysing markets and price movement even before charts were in regular use. Because Wyckoff was the first to study price in a structured technical way, he was not blinkered by the countless theories, counter-theories, and technical babble that can seem so confusing to anyone learning to trade now. And so his teaching of analysis can be thought of as being the most pure. He cuts right to the point.

Trade Like Jesse Livermore by Richard Smitten

The secret to Jesse Livermore’s legendary trading success. Although he began his career in 1892, Jesse Livermore is still considered to be one of the world’s greatest traders. In life and in death, Livermore has always been a controversial figure and his methods held up as a model for traders of all generations.

He then developed a series of unique tools, using secret formulas and equations that allowed him to identify and interpret the movement in stocks with uncanny reliability. In Trade Like Jesse Livermore, author Richard Smitten explores the technical aspects of Livermore’s trading approach and shows readers how they can use these techniques to garner the success Livermore once did.

Trade Like Jesse Livermore covers every aspect of Livermore’s trading methods, from discerning market behavior and trends such as top-down and tandem trading to paying close attention to indicators such as one-day reversals and spikes. #11: E-Books : The Art of Day Trading

The Art of Day Trading

It's no secret most day-trading profits are made by floor traders. They not only have the advantages of low commissions and ease of execution, but they have the "edge" or the ability to buy at the bid price and sell at the ask price. Although day-trading off the floor is a completely different game, traders also must have some sort of advantage that will give them a trading edge.

Certainly live, tick-by-tick quoting equipment is necessary, along with charting and technical analysis software. Most novice day-traders watch prices, analyze various intraday charts and indicators, thinking they can assimilate this flow of information and make profitable trades. They often hope for some sort of "sixth sense" to give them an advantage.

Unfortunately, the market usually demonstrates it has more of a sixth sense and soon separates the trader from his money.

Something concrete is needed to give a trader the confidence and commitment to "pull the trigger." There are so many examples in books and magazine articles isolating some guru's favorite chart formation or technical indicator that shows where to buy or sell.

#15: E-Books : Japanese Candlesticks

Japanese Candlesticks

If someone told you they had uncovered a 300 year old secret that had the potential to bring great wealth, would you listen? If this, then, could explain the mysteries behind the secret so that you could profit as well, would you be interested?

For those of you who are involved in the stock market, technical analysis can be somewhat of a mystery. You research and study, yet your trades just don’t end up being very successful. All you need to know is how to recognize the easily-seen signals the Japanese Candlesticks create.

A candlestick chart is a style of bar-chart used primarily to describe price movements of an equity over time. It is a combination of a line-chart and a bar-chart, in that each bar represents the range of price movement over a given time interval. It is most often used in technical analysis of equity and currency price patterns. They appear superficially similar to error bars, but are unrelated.

Candlestick charts are said to have been developed in the 18th century by legendary Japanese rice trader Homma Munehisa. The charts gave Homma and others an overview of open, high, low, and close market prices over a certain period. This style of charting is very popular due to the level of ease in reading and understanding the graphs. Since the 17th century, there has been a lot of effort to relate chart patterns to the likely future behavior of a market. This method of charting prices proved to be particularly interesting, due to the ability to display five data points instead of one. The Japanese rice traders also found that the resulting charts would provide a fairly reliable tool to predict future demand.

#17: E-Books : Day Trading With Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout by Toby Crabel

Day Trading With Short Term Price Patterns and Opening Range Breakout by Toby Crabel

This author is one of the few that have touched upon one of the most fundamental and universal properties of almost any market. Whether your games is futures or equities, look at any chart and you will see periods of little price activity alternating with periods of greater price movement. This is the crux of this book.

Markets invariably move from stages of expansion, to contraction, and back to expansion, etc. Several other price patterns and technical analysis approaches are tested as well. However, after reading this book, you will no longer be one of those who try to "get in" on a runaway bull or bear market - only to have it turn right around on you as if it knew you were coming, but rather, you will be one of the ones who are ready when an otherwise "dead" market takes everyone else by surprise.

The main ideas in the book have to do with expansion and contraction in volatility and moves off the open (Opening Range Breakouts).

Toby is a successful hedge fund manager, having worked for Victor Niederhoffer before starting his own company. Toby's returns are good, but his risk management is far better. Toby's funds have grown primarily due to his excellent risk management skills as opposed to his returns. In layman's terms this means that he hardly ever loses money but he doesn't make much for his clients. This is actually fairly unique and he should be commended for finding this niche in the business.

#19: E-Books : Trading on Momentum by Ken Wolff

Trading on Momentum by Ken Wolff

The NASDAQ has reached a record 60 new highs in 1999, closing above the 4000 milestone. This record was the icing on the cake to a year of volatile victories for the NASDAQ, which experienced the largest one-year gain ever for a major market index. Momentum has never been more important. For example, the first day of tradingin 2000 saw the NASDAQ dropping close to 100 points before finishing the day with a significant gain, yet on the second day of trading, the NASDAQ experienced its worst point drop in history. This text shows traders how to profit consistently by recognizing when the market has changed, determining what has changed, and adapting their trading methods to this new environment.

Every second of every trading day, literally one-half of executed trades have the potential to generate immediate profits. In those brief moments following the trade, it isn't the fundamentals of each stock that changeit is the trading momentum. Traders who understand how to recognize and use this momentum can greatly increase their percentage of profitable tradesevery second of every trading day.

Elliot Wave Unveiled - Traders World Magazine

Elliott Wave Theory

Elliott Wave Theory interprets market actions in terms of recurrent price structures obedient to the Fibonacci sequence. Basically, Market cycles are composed of two major types of Wave : Impulse Wave and Corrective Wave. For every impulse wave, it can be sub-divided into 5 - wave structure (1-2-3-4-5), while for corrective wave, it can be sub-divided into 3 - wave structures (a-b-c).

Surfer's Waves within Wave
An important feature of Elliott Wave is that they are fractal in nature. 'Fractal' means market structure are built from similar patterns on a larger or smaller scales. Therefore, we can count the wave on a long-term yearly market chart as well as short-term hourly market chart.

#23: E-Books : 30 Days to Market Mastery by Jacob Bernstein

30 Days to Market Mastery by Jacob Bernstein

The best thing to be gleaned here is the methodology itself. The methodology is first a setup, then a trigger, then follow through. A setup is a seasonal correlation or momentum divergence, as examples. Then a trigger gets you in the trade, like a stochastics crossover. Follow through is simply money management.

This book provides excellent clarity in finding potential trades, determining an appropriate entry and subsequently managing the trade. Momentum divergence is the main indicator and the methodology is clearly detailed in terms of the setup, the trigger and the follow through. Questions are included at the end of the chapters. It is not difficult to use the methodology on any charting software. The methods can be extended to utilize other similar indicators. Reading this book is a low risk proposition with major potential rewards.

This is definitely one book that any new trader should read.

An excellent book for new traders, 30 Days to Market Mastery outlines an easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement approach to learning how to trade. This book covers the fundamentals of how to structure trades in a disciplined fashion, so as to avoid vague decisions and acting on unclear trading signals. It also provides a number of strategies for entering and exiting the market in a way that maximizes the chances of making money and minimizes the potential for losing money. With this book as their guide, readers will learn the proper organizational, analytical, and behavioral skills that are vital to consistent success in trading. In 30 Days to Market Mastery each trading day contains a single lesson, and each lesson contains a quiz to help the reader master the material.

#24: E-Books : Float Analysis by Steve Woods

Float Analysis by Steve Woods

This book is really good since it takes a subject (A Stocks Float) and explains its` important role, and gives the reader a little more education on buying and selling power in the markets and this may be a brilliant new concept.

A stock's float is the total number of shares available to the public for trading. When this total number of shares gets traded in the market (whether over a week, a month, or a year), you have a "float turnover". This book argues that float turnovers are closely correlated with significant price moves. It's a simple and clear idea, made all the more persuasive by the fact that there's a common-sense explanation for it: a float turnover represents an complete change of ownership in who holds the stock; so if, for example, the new owners are significantly more bullish than the previous owners, they will be more reluctant to sell, and the price will rise.

Mr. Woods makes a good case that the float is a relevant piece of information, and I don't doubt that many traders will be grateful to him for bringing this to their attention.

Forex Patterns & Probabilities by Ed Ponsi

Without a doubt this book is far superior to anything else available on the subject of forex trading. "Forex Patterns and Probabilities" will become a trading classic not only for the tremendous amount of useful information it provides, but for the easy and fun way that the information is presented. The author, Ed Ponsi, presents very detailed strategies and then demonstrates them to the reader in a very concise manner. This is exactly what I needed and what most traders need - clear, unambiguous directions that explain in perfect detail exactly what the trader must do to make money trading.

This book is a must read. It is packed with lots of information and filled with little distinctions that may seem minor on the surface, but can mean the difference between defeat and success.

Just as important as the great trading techniques are the explanations why they make so much sense. This book cuts through the nonsense, and if you understand what Ed is saying then you realize that much of the other stuff that is out there is pretty useless. Maybe obsolete is a better word, now that this book is out there the bar has been raised and hopefully the quality of other books in this genre will pick up the pace. Read this book!

Essential Technical Analysis by Leigh Stevens

An Introduction to Technical Analysis from One of the Top Names in the Business

A good introduction to technical analysis. It reads lighter then most tutorials due to the skill of the writer. Essential Technical Analysis is a highly valued resource for technical traders. The importance of comprehensive and well-researched market behaviors, indicators, and systems were well expressed graphically with many examples.

No technical analyst should be without this book. Stevens's book could become another classic.

Essential Technical Analysis will give the new student of technical analysis a good overview of both classical chart patterns and a myriad of technical indicators, but so will many other texts. What sets this volume apart is that it presents the subject in the context of real-world trading situations, not idealized well-chosen examples.

Books on technical analysis, especially those aimed at novices, are typically filled with charts in which the selected patterns are both unambiguous and work perfectly. As Leigh Stevens recognizes and confronts, however, the real world is a far more sloppy place: charts may often contain conflicting indicators, and patterns don't always work as described. Reading Essential Technical Analysis is like sitting beside a veteran technical analyst and having him describe his methods and market experiences.

Advanced Elliot Waves by Steven Poser

Steve Poser is one of the few people who can integrate Elliott Wave analysis into a normal conversation on the markets and make sense.

Author and Elliott Wave expert Steven Poser takes a fresh approach to this proven trading strategy, giving you the most well-rounded and straightforward lesson on how to make money using Elliott Wave theory.

The issue of Elliott Waves or any other technical tool is that it is ambiguous what is going on at any point in time. Even after the fact, many technicians will disagree about what the charts show. So how do you decide what trade to make? This video contains many excellent detailed examples that will help you understand, and gives you a format to follow for the future. The essence is to find potential trades with much more likelihood of gain than loss . . . and a gain potential that is much larger than the loss potential as well. #30: E-Books : Candlestick Charting Explained by Gregory Morris

Candlestick Charting Explained by Gregory Morris

Great book, great content. This is not a book about theory and history of candlestick charts. He doesn't waste your time telling you what he thinks. Instead, this book gives specific results of candle patterns based on back-testing done by the author. He clearly defines each pattern discussed and then % of likelyhood of a reversal, continuation, and so forth. This is the kind of information that can be applied to your trading system to improve your profits.

One great difference is that this book is easier to use. It has a standardized format for all the patterns with Commentary, Rules, Psychology Behind the Pattern, Flexibility, Pattern Breakdown, Related Patterns, Examples. This is VERY GOOD. It's only search the pattern and read what you want to know. It has a table with a resume about the pattern too.

You will know all about candlesticks. And this book is easier to use and to consult. And what's more? This book has an in depth review of Candlesticks, patterns and practical application to Technical Analysis for Investors than Steve Nison's book.

With this book you will discover candlestick charting, one of the most popular tools in technical analysis. Candlestick Charting Explained features updated charts and analysis as well as new material on integrating Western charting analysis with Japanese candlestick analysis, grouping candlesticks into families, detecting and avoiding false signals, and more.
