Two brothers, part of a border-recognition treaty detachment after a very long war, confront and deal with the wartime acts of brutality and violence of the older brother. The older brother has been part of this war for 25 years; the younger brother has been studying to become a professor and has been comparatively sheltered from the horrors. The younger brother comes face to face with his older brother’s moral deterioration, and, disturbed by the older brother’s acts of war, eventually persuades (and forces) the older brother to completely atone for those actions. The amount of spookiness achieved with no special effects other than blood, is truly remarkable, and a lesson for Hollywood. And in the end, the viewer is left with an uncertainty as to who must pay for sins, and why, and whether anyone, ever, is truly innocent.

One of my favourite comedy series
Two brilliant ("a combined IQ of 360") young physicists, Leonard and Sheldon, are the kind of "beautiful minds" that understand how the universe works. But their PhDs don't help them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited, newly single beauty named Penny moves in next door. When Leonard and Sheldon meet Penny, Leonard is immediately interested in her (saying "our babies will be smart and beautiful"), but Sheldon feels his friend is chasing a dream he'll never catch (adding "not to mention imaginary"). Sheldon is quite content to spend his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow geeky Caltech geniuses, Wolowitz (a wannabe ladies man) and Koothrappali (who is so shy he cannot speak to beautiful women). However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love. Widely acclaimed as his best album, Passion and Warfare finds Steve Vai coming into his own as a composer, as well as bypassing vocals almost entirely. His style isn't quite as derivative of influences Frank Zappa and Joe Satriani as it was six years earlier on Flex-able; while some of Vai's sense of humor is still evident on tracks like the cock rock strut of "The Audience Is Listening," it is mostly replaced by a spiritual reflectiveness on ballads like "For the Love of God" and "Blue Powder" and dignified, committed rockers like "I Would Love To" and "Liberty." Vai is a more distinguished composer than most of his guitar-shredder contemporaries, and rather than simply showing off his technique, he isn't afraid to experiment or take chances in his playing. Thus, Passion and Warfare is arguably the richest and best hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the '80s.

This is is the seventh album and the first Van Halen record with sammy on vocals, released in 1986. And this is their biggest selling album with sammy as the singer. It went 6 times platnium. And so, the Sammy Hagar years begun also he really steped up and belts out some great vocals.

With the oberheim keyboard classic sound. The guitar riffs are great and it feels like a party. The guys sound like they're having fun. Includes classics like "Dreams", and "Summer Nights". The songs from this album have energy and the sound is timeless. "Dreams" is more commercial with a synth driven opening and a hook that is very memorable and could be enjoyed by both pop and rock fans. "Love Walks In" a power ballad is among the slowest songs. "Best of Both World's" is the complete opposite, a ragy classic rock anthem and ditto with the title track and "Summer Nights" where Eddie Van Halen proves why he's considered among the world's greatest guitarists. "Good Enough" and "Get Up" are standards in fast pace, good party songs!

Brings back a lot of good memories...There is something for everyone here, rock standards, rock ballads and some quite commercial synth laden rock-pop songs.

The album was named after Eddie Van Halen's home studio, 5150, which is a California police term for a mentally disturbed person (a reference to Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code). The 5150 name has been used several times by Van Halen. It is the name of Eddie Van Halen's private studio, the name of a custom Frankenstein striped Kramer Pacer Special used by Eddie Van Halen throughout the 80s, and it is the model name of a signature guitar amplifier endorsed by Eddie for Peavey Electronics.
