VANDAL is a complete simulation suite for guitarists and bassists. The plug-in is capable of simulating the entire signal chain, from input to stomp boxes, amplifiers, microphoned loudspeakers and post-processing studio effects, all in top quality. While designing this program, several important aspects were given priority, making VANDAL a very special plug-in in terms of amp modeling.
These aspects include:
• Analog modeling with high fidelity to detail and accurate models of tube amplification stages, with real-world positive characteristics like distortion, dynamics, and audio
complexity.
• No use of impulse responses during speaker simulation (as is usually the case), but instead genuine physical modeling that calculates components like the speaker, cabinet, recording space, and microphone based on individual physical situations, which offers an enormous freedom of sound design and real-time control.
• Easy-to-learn interface coupled with efficient, quickly graspable workflows.
• No features that are used only by select few users. The focus is on the important components of a guitar or bass setup. By buying VANDAL you are first and foremost
investing into the quality of sound, and not into dubious gimmicks.
• Not a copy of a famous amplifier, but rather true "Custom Amplification Design" – with a sound of its own and a lot of versatility in terms of audio variety.
• Completely latency-free processing. VANDAL does not create any signal delay (primarily by forgoing any impulse responses). Only the audio interface and its driver may be responsible for any in- and out-going latencies during live playing.
• Control over any parameters of all components via MIDI
• 4-times oversampling (below 44/48 kHz) for components that create distortion. This
avoids typically digital artifacts (aliasing)
• Comparably low CPU load. Playing live, you need the highest-possible drop-out prevention and some "head room". In the studio, you may need several copies of the plug-in for a song – if for one specific metal riff you require 10 guitars instead of two for that real "punch in the gut", then simply let VANDAL rise to the occasion 10 times.
